Martial Arts: I Have Diligence Reward System

Chapter 247: Chapter 132: The Warmth and Coldness of Human Relations

After a whole morning, the enrollment procedures were pretty much done. One has to admit, having connections feels great. When Su Yue returned, some people were still in line.

The cafeteria was too crowded at noon, so Su Yue hopped into Bai Xiaolong’s sports car to eat outside the school, and he couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe once again.

Indeed!

The significance of buying a car is really just to show off.

When the car stopped at the restaurant entrance, many people paused to look, and a few liberal arts college students even ran over to take photos with the car. It seems they were car enthusiasts too.

The dishes were served, and the two chatted casually as they ate.

”The procedures are almost all completed. That student card can solve almost all problems at Wuda for you. You can directly exchange money for credits.

”For students at the Gold Bone Elephant level and above, tuition and fees are completely waived. Yours have already been waived.

”Tomorrow, you freshmen can choose your dorms, but I suggest you stay in a hotel tonight.”

Bai Xiaolong said.

”Stay in a hotel?

”Isn’t the dorm assigned by the school?”

Su Yue looked curious.

”Dorms being assigned by the school is something liberal arts schools do.

”At West Martial, there are many types of dorms.

”For ordinary people, there’s a ten-person room. There’s also eight-person, six-person, four-person, and even double rooms... Double rooms are very expensive, but they offer a bit more peace.

”The most expensive single-occupancy dorms are located under Fuling Mountain. They are only for sale, not for rent, and the ownership is only for four years. After graduation, West Martial directly reclaims them.

”Single-occupancy dorms sell for 1 million credits, which is 100 million.”

Bai Xiaolong roughly explained.

”Only for sale, not for rent? Four-year ownership? Selling for 100 million? That’s robbery!

”100 million for four years of dorm, that’s 25 million a year, nearly 70,000 a day?

”This is simply a trick of the concept, such overbearing terms!

”Senior, what on earth is Fuling Mountain?”

Su Yue looked distressed. This school certainly is domineering.

It’s downright terrifying.

”The 27th century is the age of Martial Artists, also called the era of Spiritual Qi Revival. And for Martial Artists to cultivate, Spiritual Qi is essential, you understand that!

”As for Fuling Mountain, it was formed by the successive Principals West Martial, who moved stones from the Wetlands, piece by piece, to build a mountain. The Spirit Reviving Stones, which can maintain Spiritual Qi on Earth, are rare even in the Wetlands. Plus, the place of origin is very close to the territory of the Eight Tribes in the Wetlands, so it’s extremely dangerous.

”It’s said that every Principal West Martial must move a certain amount of Spirit Reviving Stones to qualify for their position.

”Meditating on Fuling Mountain is somewhat similar to sitting in meditation in the Wetlands. The effect is not entirely the same, but it’s dozens of times better than elsewhere. If you want to train there, an hour costs 500 credits, which is 50,000.

”If you can live in a single-occupancy dorm near Fuling Mountain, the effect, though not as good as Fuling Mountain itself, still offers a small portion of the pressure. Over time, this is well worth the cost.

”You might think spending 100 million to buy four years’ use of a single-occupancy dorm is the school’s overbearing term. You’re wrong. Students willing to spend that 100 million are numerous, but unfortunately... if you don’t have enough merit, you simply don’t qualify to buy.”

Bai Xiaolong said expressionlessly.

Su Yue fell into contemplation.

Moving stones from the Wetlands, near the territory of the Eight Tribes, must be very dangerous; even Grandmasters might fall.

Building a mountain with stones, and training on it, is comparable to meditating in the Wetlands.

Calculated this way, 50,000 an hour is not really expensive.

We must know, Du Jing’s Book spends millions on a trip to the Wetlands, only for merely three days, plus the risk of death and enduring the harsh environment.

If one can really train daily under Fuling Mountain, even if the effect is halved, spending 70,000 a day is worth it.

Some expenses seem frightening at first glance, but shouldn’t be calculated too closely.

Once calculated, it becomes reasonable.

”Actually, this single-occupancy dorm is really a benefit of the West Martial. Even the privilege to train at Fuling Mountain, 50,000 an hour, would be limited. Enjoying the comfort and safety of Earth while absorbing the Spiritual Qi of the Wetlands, imagine how satisfying that is?

”I’ve heard that the price of Fuling Mountain is going to increase this year, seemingly to be adjusted to 600 credits an hour.”

Bai Xiaolong added.

”How many single-occupancy dorms are there in West Martial?”

Su Yue asked again.

He suddenly had some interest in the single-occupancy dorms.

He needed a quiet environment to train, and besides, he didn’t need to sleep. Living in a dorm with someone else could eventually arouse suspicion over time.

If living alone, many troubles could be avoided.

With the 70 million from the Du Family, Su Yue could barely gather 100 million, all earned hard-fought.

As for the merit.

If his merit wasn’t enough, no one else’s would be.

His only concern was that there shouldn’t be too many single-occupancy dorms. If it ended up as lively as an alley, it would lose its meaning.

”The single-occupancy dorms are like standalone cottages, not many, actually only ten.

”Even I, as the Student Union President, only managed to buy one at the end of my sophomore year. I spent 100 million for just two and a half years of use, yet I still don’t feel I lost out.

”Only students in their fourth year consider the cost-effectiveness; perhaps 100 million for one year of use is indeed a bit of a loss. If you qualify by your third year, you need not consider... just buy.”

Bai Xiaolong said from experience.

”Hmm, I understand now.”

Su Yue nodded.

Given the explanation, if he didn’t buy it, he’d be crazy.

He could use it for four full years.

”For many wealthy families, 100 million is really nothing. After all, this is the Western Imperial Capital, and students eligible for West Martial admission are rare elites. Among the vast population of the Divine Land, this is a gathering place for top-tier elites.
