Bear School Astartes

This is a young forest extending from the Dark Forest, where the oldest trees are only as thick as two people embracing.

And the wargs, with just three of them working together for half a minute, can dismantle such a tree cleanly!

The elves are all master archers, fully capable of leaping from tree to tree while maintaining their shooting speed and accuracy.

Shooting arrows at the wargs below.

But the reason Legolas is so panicked to get everyone to relocate is because he knows—wargs are not ordinary mindless beasts.

These wolves, with their huge muscles and size, are strictly speaking, allies of the orcs, not trained war beasts or mounts.

The wargs possess intelligence, even having their own language system.

In battle, if the wargs believe they need to adapt, it’s not uncommon for them to throw off the orc riders on their backs.

This is a time when the wargs deemed it necessary to adapt.

When destroying the trees the elves landed on, the wargs would first grab the orcs around them and then throw them onto their heads, blocking the arrows coming from above.

Orcs die when they die; even if it’s a corpse, it can block arrows, and if one slides off, another takes its place.

Even the elves’ arrows, most of which, after penetrating an armored orc corpse, though still protruding their arrowheads, can’t cause effective harm to the muscular wargs.

Only an elite shooter like Legolas, whose arrows seem blessed by the wind, pierce through with a mismatchingly sharp sound and an eerily stable trajectory.

Pinning the orc corpses and wargs to the ground directly.

Although Legolas’ bow and arrows appear common, Lann estimates that this man’s prowess competes with the Dragon-Hunting Great Bow and Arrows of the Ilyushil Silver Knights from the Flame World!

But this guy’s shooting speed is much more fierce than the Silver Knights!

Yet, although the elves of this world are an immortal and extraordinary race, there is only one shooter like Legolas on the scene.

He can’t clap with one hand.

The wargs’ actions are not significantly hindered by just his firepower.

These muscular wolves with terrifying teeth keep gnawing at the tree trunks, biting through wood fibers as thick as an arm, creating a head-sized notch with just a few bites.

Wood chips fly everywhere, and with a few more hits, the tree’s own weight can help the wargs break it.

”Awooo~”

”Kill them all! Kill the elves!”

The unique language of the wargs mixed with the orcs’ eager screams for blood reverberates in this small forest.

Among them are sounds of metal clashing, leather rubbing, and the sharp cracks of tree trunks being torn and broken...

The patrol team of over ten elves that surrounded Lann now drifts like falling green leaves across the continuing forest, transferring from one tree to another.

And their movement results in less time for shooting, thus reducing the suppressive force on the hundreds of orcs below.

The situation is deteriorating continuously.

Seeing this, the elves are about to be driven to the edge of this derived forest, beyond which lies a meadow and hills scattered with stone mounds.

Even the light-footed elves can’t outrun the wargs by just running on such terrain!

”Legolas! Think of something!”

Tauriel’s archery is not as good as her prince’s, but she is the second most powerful in this group of elves.

She fires an arrow that pierces through two ecstatic, shouting orcs due to a brief angle overlap.

”I’m thinking! Wait...?!”

The usually calm and graceful elves are now sweating on their foreheads, and Legolas, as the leader, feels even more pressure.

But just then, the elves in the trees suddenly notice something strange.

—Under their trees, a strip of land begins to emit a faint blue-white glow.

The land glows?

What’s happening?

In this sudden and abnormal situation, even the elves are somewhat distracted.

Until a tingling sensation raising their hairs hits their skin, and even the usually smooth long hair of the elves starts to stand on end during the intense battle.

”This is...” The elves, who have lived for who knows how long, finally matched this sensation with a scene they’ve occasionally seen before, and those who realized began to loudly warn those around them. ”Watch out for lightning strikes! Lightning strikes!”

”Thunder? Now?”

Legolas, with a light spin, jumps onto the branch of another tree and shoots an arrow while spinning. He questions the shouting elf in surprise.

Though he is the strongest among these elves, at just over two thousand years, he is considered a youngster among elves.

And in these two thousand years, the King has always looked after his child, never letting him wander too far from the Dark Forest.

So in terms of experience, Legolas falls into the less knowledgeable category among the elves.

But luckily, in this patrol team, there are plenty of seasoned elves with broad experience.

”Jump again! Jump to the farther tree!”

Several Elves urgently reminded Legolas, and of course, he wasn’t as stubborn as a Dwarf, so he listened.

And in the very next moment...

”Boom~!”

The bluish-white light on the ground grew increasingly intense until it reached its limit!

Tiny electric arcs first danced across the long stretch of land, and in the blink of an eye, they connected into one! High-energy currents pierced the air, producing a deafening explosion along with a special scorching smell of superheated air.

For a moment, Legolas felt as though he couldn’t hear anything.

All that was left was the sight before him: the front row of Beastmen wiping the black blood that had just splattered on their faces in terror, while the rear Beastmen frantically pushed forward.

Flat ground suddenly bore a charred scar, and the earth and rocks were blasted up, forming a shallow trench.

And as for the wargs that were gnawing on tree trunks and shaking the trees along that path?

The blood that splattered on the front row Beastmen’s faces came from the wargs, whose bodies were blown in half and the blood, cooked by the high heat, sprayed out!

The scene kept moving before him, but his ears heard nothing, only a growing ringing.

After about a second, the piercing ringing gradually transformed from monotonous to noisy, eventually becoming various sounds.

The wargs blown in half were still alive, whimpering in their language, but thick blood mixed with organ fragments was uncontrollably flowing from their mouths.

Thanks to their massive muscle mass and size, they hadn’t died immediately. The Beastmen nearby were utterly pulverized by the ground-level thunderbolt.

The blood splattered out in one go, staining the woodland black.

The Beastmen closer to the attack were covered in a layer of gunk.

”Neeeigh!”

The Qilin’s two front hooves lifted off the ground, excitedly standing up and shaking its head.

Its white mane shimmered with blue arcs, making it appear both sacred and majestic when it fluffed up.

The blue-violet crystalline long horn emitted a glow indicative of high energy, beginning to shine.

Among the filthy Beastmen and wargs, the Qilin stood like a holy avenger descending from the heavens!

Tall, sacred, valiant...

And the person riding on its back was even more so.

”What is that thing... no, what is that sacred creature?”

The Elf Prince of the Woodland Kingdom, with a look of disbelief, leaned against a tree and murmured as he looked towards the Qilin.

”I don’t know, Your Highness,” a nearby Elf who happened to be standing on a tree with Legolas, was also staring in awe at the Qilin, though he was still catching his breath compared to Legolas.

”But I think it must be one of the great Manwe Suluim’s beasts. Only the master of Ardan’s sky and wind could have the authority to wield the power of air and wind to form thunderbolt!”

”Then who in this world has the right to ride on the back of such a divine beast?”

Legolas quickly asked.

The Elf, thanks to their strong racial talent, quickly caught his breath and returned to normal speech speed.

”I’m not sure, Your Highness.”

”Maybe he came from Valinor? But it doesn’t seem like it; he lacks the holy aura from the Blessed Land.”

The Blessed Land of Valinor, the most sacred place where the Villas, Vilya, Maiar, and even Ilúvatar reside.

It isn’t in some inaccessible alternate space but right on Ardan, across the sea.

The Elves can set sail across the sea whenever they wish to go.

But Valinor is a destiny that all creatures will inevitably reach in their lifetimes; everyone will arrive there eventually.

Due to nostalgia for their homeland and the ties of worldly matters, few Elves choose to embark early to Valinor on their life journeys.

They continue to live and move in Middle-earth.

”Don’t just stand there, help out!”

Lann and Rong Buqiu both gripped the Qilin’s mane, firmly securing themselves on its back. The Demon Hunter shouted to the Elves who were dumbstruck on the tree branches.

Due to the isolation provided by the Magic Rune Cloth, the Qilin could partially use its power to control the thunderbolt.

When using thunderbolt, the Qilin got excited, its hooves flailing, while Lann, with his stable weight, was okay, Rong Buqiu, getting tossed around, was nearly airborne, but luckily clinging on to avoid falling off.

Immediately, the excited Qilin lowered its head, its sharp azure antler, terrifying enough to make even a Golden Lion’s fist hesitate, aimed at the surviving wargs.

”Neeeigh!”

Screeching, the Qilin rushed forward with its hooves.

In the face of the Qilin’s azure antlers, even the sturdy muscle was like paper; could the warg’s muscle be stronger than a Golden Lion’s?

Maybe their brains work better than a Golden Lion’s, but that might be true.
