Bear School Astartes

Lann could understand Elrond’s astonishment.

Because although the elf lord on the opposite side, who did not know how long he had lived, his skills, adaptability, and fundamental qualities were impeccable.

However, this kind of technique, though solid, did not have too magical an effect.

Suddenly seeing Lann, who incorporated the appearance of combat systems from multiple worlds, even if he hadn’t seen everything, was enough to surprise him.

But what about the so-called ’strange’?

”It seems my combat method still has quite a few issues?”

Lann instinctively spun his blade, then sheathed Aron Dite.

He cautiously and tentatively spoke to Elrond.

”No, it’s not your problem... how should I put it?”

Elrond circled around Lann, pinching his chin with his fingers, murmuring with interest yet seeming thoughtful.

”In my view, your technique is already very powerful, and your personal qualities can even rival some renowned legendary heroes. But... why is it that someone like you doesn’t have a more ’deeper’ power?”

A more ’deeper’ power.

If it had been before, Lann might have found this statement baffling.

But now, he suddenly recalled the moment with Radagast in Dorguldu driving away that mass of evil spirit resembling a terrifying green mist.

At that time, even when he activated the holy power on the Lady of the Lake’s Sword, because the opponent was in the Netherworld, his Aron Dite’s full attack power barely retained two-tenths when in contact with it.

But Radagast’s wooden Magic Staff emitted a white light, each flash having a tangible impact on the evil spirit residing in the Netherworld.

In the end, it was mainly Radagast’s attack that allowed the two of them to disperse the evil spirit.

Because the evil spirit resided in a [domain] different from Lann, his attacks seemed so powerless.

And the white light emitted from Radagast’s Magic Staff... was undoubtedly the more ’deeper’ power.

”If one is a hero against darkness, then at least one should have the power to cause tangible harm to darkness.”

Elrond continued speaking.

”And this kind of power is not hard to find. Many of the weapons or Magic Objects forged by my kin, the western higher elves, possess this ability.”

”After all, when the Great Dark Enemy first reared its head in the world, they had already opposed it in ancient times.”

”And yet someone like you, who has wandered for so long and fought against darkness, has none. It’s truly a pity.”

Hearing Elrond say this, Lann understood the meaning behind his words earlier.

Lann’s intrinsic power and technique were not problematic, but he lacked the ability to cause deeper damage to darkness.

This kind of power generally came from some ancient weapon or Magic Object.

For ordinary people, it wasn’t a concern; they couldn’t access them. Moreover, usual enemies like beastmen, wargs, and such could be dealt with using ordinary blades.

But judging from Lann’s experiences and level, his enemies were certainly not limited to the basic dark minions like beastmen.

One should possess the capability to handle higher-ranked enemies.

Otherwise, he would have long been targeted by the forces of darkness and would not have had the chance to stand in Rivendell.

But Lann didn’t have it.

Elrond could only find this strange.

”This further confirms...” Elrond walked over to Lann, nodding towards the long blade at the demon hunter’s waist.

”This sword merely mimics the forging techniques of the western higher elves, but does not capture the essence.”

”It’s not that it’s bad, just... it actually lacks the characteristics of higher elven weapons. You could say it has taken a different path.”

Is it mainly a weapon issue?

Lann’s hand instinctively rested on the handle of the blade at his left side.

Because of weapon issues, he found it difficult to cause tangible harm to certain enemies... Such difficulties he hadn’t encountered in a long time. He did not expect that in this world, because the Lady of the Lake’s Sword’s power was ’not deep enough,’ he would feel troubled.

Could one say: Truly worthy of a world with a Creator God?

The sword forged by the power of such a conceptual deity as the Lady of the Lake actually became ’shallow’ in this world.

And... what exactly are these western higher elves?!

How strong are the techniques and powers of this group of elves?

Judging merely from Elrond’s words, and the comparison of higher elven weapons with the Lady of the Lake’s Sword, could it be that this group of elves could face gods head-on?

So, looking at it, the Ain Sidi Race Elves of the Magic Middle Ages... they are really a bit ’harmlessly cute.’

”Meow!”

Until the two on the platform finished sparring, one of the two mesmerized by the exquisite Swordsmanship on the spiral staircase let out a sudden cry.

”Bill is a bad kitty!”

Elu Cat angrily jumped away, shouting at the Hobbits.

Master Bilbo Baggins looked bewilderedly at Rong Buqiu, then at the clump of yellow and white cat hair in his hand.

He had been watching so intently, his hand originally resting on Rong Buqiu’s back unconsciously clenched, and then...

”No, Rong Buqiu! I didn’t mean to! Just... just now...!”

The Hobbit, embarrassed and anxious, stammered.

”And Rong Buqiu, you also tore my coat to shreds!”

In the recent swordfight practice, Bilbo clutched Rong Buqiu’s fur, and under the tense atmosphere, Rong Buqiu scratched at Bilbo’s little suit jacket as if playing with a cat scratch board.

Bilbo’s original intention was to show his loss to calm Rong Buqiu down, but in the heat of the moment, his words seemed to provoke a quarrel instead.

Rong Buqiu’s large watery eyes narrowed slightly, with a rumbling growl emerging from its throat, showing it wasn’t to be messed with.

The Hobbit swallowed nervously, finally realizing he had misspoken.

”Wait! Rong Buqiu, I admit it was my fault... Please don’t pull my hair! NO~~~”

Hobbits, unlike cats, only have dense hair on the tops of their feet and heads.

Rong Buqiu dashed towards the Hobbit on all fours.

Meanwhile, the Hobbit showcased his naturally nimble and agile movement, with Bilbo quickly sprinting up the spiral staircase.

Lann and Elrond looked on leisurely as the two little ones played and ran off into the distance.

”Please enjoy your restful time in Rivendell.”

Elrond said gently to Lann before he prepared to leave.

He was not only a highly skilled Warrior but also the Lord of the Elf City, with many daily duties to attend to.

However, after a swordfight, Elrond seemed to relax as if nothing had happened, but just as he was about to walk away, Lann called out to him.

”Please wait, Lord Elrond.”

The Elf paused and turned sideways. The Demon Hunter cautiously approached, choosing his words carefully.

”Actually, my coming to Rivendell with you was also to find someone.”

”Find someone?”

”To be precise, a female Elf.”

”Hmm~” Elrond showed interest, crossing his arms and turning fully to face Lann, ”Tell me about it, Yadanisil.”

”Lady Galadriel... May I ask if you know her?”

Lann inquired.

”I’ve heard she’s often in the Lothlorien Forest, the Golden Forest. It doesn’t seem too far from Rivendell.”

At the mention of this name, Lann immediately noticed a fleeting moment of surprise on Elrond’s face.

”Lady Galadriel?” Elrond asked, puzzled, ”Why are you looking for her?”

Lann patted the Lady of the Lake’s Sword at his waist.

”The giver of this sword mentioned that Lady Galadriel is her friend and asked me to send her regards.”

”I see.”

Elrond nodded.

Although the Lady of the Lake’s Sword’s forging technique seemed similar yet different from that of the Western High Elves, its inherently good and bright essence was something Elrond could easily sense.

Thus, he accepted this explanation.

”Then you’re in luck, Yadanisil.”

Elrond elegantly placed his hands behind his back.

”Wait a while longer, and Lady Galadriel will arrive in Rivendell.”

”She will come?” Lann asked in shock, ”Why?”

Elrond smiled and shook his head, ”I told you last night, the guardians of this world aren’t just your group.”

”Whether it’s Sorlin Oak Shield’s expedition heading toward the dragon or the message you brought on behalf of Radagast, these are no trivial matters. A meeting is warranted to discuss them.”

”And Lady Galadriel is the most respected figure at such meetings. Without her, there’s not much we can discuss.”

”Anyway, during this period, just rest well and wait for good news.”

-----------------

As Elrond had said, during this time, Lann and the Dwarves’ expedition party were hosted by the Elves in Rivendell.

The Dwarves’ rough lifestyle didn’t restrain itself even in the realms of the Elves.

They even dismantled quite a bit of the Elves’ wooden furniture and used them as firewood to roast sausages.

Although they usually cleaned up after themselves, it was hard to like such boorish guests.

However, thinking about how these folks, without knowing Lann’s situation, were ready to jump out of a safe place to fight alongside the Demon Hunter...

... all you can say is that Dwarves’ personalities are both lovable and frustrating.

During his time in Rivendell, Lann also explored most parts of this city in the valley.

Besides the leisurely and tranquil atmosphere caused by the wondrous and shapeless Magic, there were also some unsettling things in this city.

In a corridor, a statue of an Elf holding a stone tray was spotted.

Both the tray and the statue had been covered in mottled green moss, but on the tray.

A broken sword, or rather, a shattered sword, was placed stably and cleanly...

It was a beautiful and mighty hand-and-a-half sword, with seven stars and sun and moon patterns on the blade. Through [Spiritual Vision], it appeared as a blinding white flame!

But it was broken, apparently shattered by some powerful attack, with the entire sword cleaved into seven or eight pieces.

The fragments were all collected and placed in Rivendell.
