Blood Awakening: The Strongest Hybrid and His Vampire Bride

Chapter 727: Father, Don’t Have an Affair

“Looks like the fun isn’t quite over.”

Ivan’s voice sank beneath the roars of battle surrounding him.

The sound came from the western side of the breach, where Dimitri crashed through the rain with his golden aura blazing around his body. His clone met him head-on, and the impact threw a violent gust across the broken lane, scattering blood, resin and shattered concrete in every direction.

Nikita ducked beneath the flying debris with a curse.

“Fuck! Watch it, old man!”

Dimitri didn’t look at her.

“Then stop standing where I’m fighting!”

“You jumped into my fight!”

“You were about to get flattened!”

“I was baiting him!”

Her father just glanced back, with a mocking smirk. “Ok!”

The fake Dimitri swung before their argument could continue. His golden claws tore through the rain toward Nikita’s neck, fast enough that several soldiers behind her shouted in panic. Nikita dropped low and fired upward, the rifle stock pressed tight against her shoulder as silver rounds hammered into the clone’s arm.

The bullets punched deep but didn’t stop the strike.

Dimitri’s fist did.

He stepped between them and caught the clone’s wrist with his bare hand, muscles swelling beneath the golden light as his boots sank into cracked concrete. For a moment, father and imitation locked in place, their shoulders shaking, their claws digging into each other’s flesh.

“Stop relying on your gun, Nikita! I trained you better, where is your bat?!”

The fake Dimitri had the same body.

The same pressure.

The same damn strength.

But it lacked the part of him that shouted, cursed, laughed, and guided her.

Nikita spat on the floor, cursing in Russian once again.

“My bat’s for when I actually want to enjoy myself!”

Even while complaining, her free hand reached behind her waist. The weapon came loose with a metallic snap, the compact frame extending into a heavy black bat reinforced with silver bands. It was ugly, practical, and covered in old dents from every time Dimitri had beaten the habit into her until she stopped dropping it.

“Heh, don’t lie, I know you just wanted to appear more feminine so that damn Volkov boy would treat you better.”

“Fuck off, old man!”

“Hahahaha! Respect your father, damn brat!”

Dimitri’s grin widened.

“There she is, my lovely daughter.”

“Shut up.”

The fake Dimitri pushed harder, forcing the real one’s boots to grind deeper into the cracked concrete. Their arms trembled under the pressure, golden aura chewing against golden aura while rain hissed around them.

Nikita moved before the clone could overpower him.

She stepped to the side, planted her left foot in the resin, and swung the bat into the fake Dimitri’s knee with everything she had.

Bang!

The impact rang through the breach like a steel pipe hitting a support beam. The clone’s leg bent slightly, not enough to break, but enough for Dimitri to twist his body and drive his forehead into the fake’s face.

“You see that? Timing!”

“I know what timing is!”

“You were shooting the thickest part of his body!”

“Because you were in the fucking way!”

The fake Nagisa slipped in while they bickered.

A thin wall of black fire flashed between Nikita and Dimitri, not strong enough to burn them, as it only created an open space for her to enter. At the same time, she rended the air with several ilusory claws from Nikita’s left side, cutting toward her cheek.

Nikita almost reacted.

The things were too realistic, she could feel the breeze and heat from the palms.

Yet the true attack came from the opposite side!

Her bat dropped with a brutal swing, smashing into the fake Nagisa’s wrist before the claws reached her ribs. The clone’s arm bent backwards with a crack, and Nikita followed with a kick to the stomach, sending the imitation sliding through blood and rain.

“When Mom’s sneaky, she doesn’t make it so damn obvious!” Nikita growled. “You’re just annoying. Amateur!”

The fake Nagisa smiled, but a sudden chill shot up Nikita’s back.

‘Mom only smiles like that when she’s pissed off!”

Dimitri’s clone used the opening to shove him back, claws raking across his chest. Blood sprayed over his golden aura, and Dimitri laughed through clenched teeth as if the wound had only made the fight more interesting.

“Good! You hit harder than you look!”

“Dad!”

“I’m fine!”

“You’re bleeding!”

“So are you!”

Nikita checked herself before her eyes widened with a sudden gasp. “Dad, you’re so fucking disgusting!”

“Hahahaha!”

Dimitri barked with laughter, catching the fake Dimitri’s swing with his forearm and slamming his fist into the clone’s jaw. The blow twisted its head sideways, but the clone answered with the same savage rhythm, driving its shoulder into Dimitri’s chest and forcing him toward the broken wall.

Nikita saw the pattern.

It was trying to separate them again.

Her ears flattened.

“Nope.”

She charged in with the bat, dragging it across the rubble and concrete with golden sparks.

The fake Nagisa flickered at the edge of her vision, throwing another small illusion across the ground, a patch of false rubble where the lane was actually clear. Nikita ignored what she saw and trusted the sound of rain hitting stone.

Her foot landed clean.

The bat swung upward.

Crack!

The silver-banded head smashed into the fake Dimitri’s elbow just as it tried to strike her father’s exposed side. The joint buckled, and Dimitri seized the moment, grabbing the clone by the throat and driving it down into his knee.

The fake Dimitri staggered.

Nikita grinned.

“There! I fucking helped!”

Dimitri grabbed her by the back of her collar and yanked her aside before the clone’s counterattack tore through her stomach.

“Celebrate after it’s dead!”

The claws missed her by a finger’s width.

Nikita’s grin vanished.

“Okay, fair.”

The fake Nagisa came again, faster now, using only short tricks. A wall where there wasn’t one. A second step that made her body appear half a pace to the left as she clawed at Nikita’s face, almost ripping out her eyes.

Nikita just blinked.

Then she shoved the rifle against her shoulder with one hand and kept the bat in the other.

“Dad, Mom is trying to beat me up!”

“I see her, damnit!”

The fake Dimitri lunged at him.

Dimitri met it with both arms and roared, holding the monster in place while Nikita turned her rifle toward the place where her mother’s scent lingered. She didn’t aim properly and just pulled the trigger.

The bullets tore through the fake Nagisa’s thigh.

“Oi bitch, don’t try to imitate my mother… she’ll rip you apart.”

The clone stumbled, and the illusion broke apart in a thin hiss of black fire.

Dimitri’s teeth flashed.

“Good girl.”

“Don’t call me that right now!”

“Then stop making me proud!”

Nikita’s face twisted between anger and embarrassment, but her body moved exactly as he trained her. She darted in while the fake Nagisa recovered, swung the bat into the wounded thigh, then brought the rifle up and fired into her face.

Dimitri matched her movements and crushed his clone.

Father and daughter hunted the pair of clones, almost overwhelmingly destroying them like rabid beasts.

The fake Nagisa tried to protect Dimitri with her illusions, but she needed time for anything larger than a simple trick, and Nikita did not give her time.

She rushed through every flicker of foxfire, taking shallow cuts, letting false claws scrape across her attention without stealing her focus. Once, the real fake Nagisa almost choked her throat. Dimitri’s hand appeared and crushed the attacking wrist before it landed.

“Nikita, let me…”

His voice carried a different tone from earlier; the jovial father now turned serious and grave.

“D-Dad…?”

Nikita backed off as she watched her father stare at a clone of her mother.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the breach, purple flames soaked the air.

Vladimir and Selene had been pushed back toward the eastern lane, not because they were losing ground, but because the fake Selina’s delayed strikes made every step dangerous.

The clone wearing Vladimir’s face pressed from the front with controlled flames, forcing Selene’s defensive response, while the imitation of Selina lifted her hand behind him with that soft, cruel expression and trapped them.

Selene’s cheek dripped with blood.

Her breathing unsteady and harsh as she held a long dagger in her left hand.

Vladimir stood half a step ahead of her, forming a massive wall of violet flames. Though his state wasn’t the best, one sleeve burned open, his ribs bruised from a delayed impact he had taken badly. His eyes, however, stayed fixed on the fake Selina.

“Even as a clone, you are the most beautiful…”

Selene shot at the clones twice, her gem-like eyes glancing at her father’s strange response to the female clone.

She narrowed her eyes with a sharp glare and said. “Father, please don’t have an affair.”

Vladimir’s flames faltered for a moment as he glanced back at his daughter, eyes and mouth wide open.

“Daughter… she is still your mother… right?”

“Father… are you an idiot? How can that be the same as my lovely mother? You know Mother will kill you if she finds out, right?”

The mother in question wasn’t Selina, but the younger Claudia.

She was close with Selina and easily forgave Vlad for two-timing them… but another woman wouldn’t get off so easily.

“…. You’re right. How could I forget?” Vlad shook his head, and glared at the fake Selina, his love pushed tot he limit as the clone smiled affectionately at him, giving a little wave.

Selene raised her dagger, almost like a threat to Vladimir than to the clones.

“Father, fight properly.”
