Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1281: Callenʼs backup

A few days passed by,

Somewhere in the Ancient Redwood Country, old man Callen is discussing with his friends.

”Old Caleb, I need your help to kill someone. If you can kill him, Iʼll owe you a favor,” he said to his friend.

They were standing above the clouds, hidden in the voids. But they could clearly see each otherʼs faces. It was impossible for other Magic Lords to find them.

”He...He...He...”

”Callen, I didnʼt expect that you would come running one day to ask for help,” a short old man said with laughter.

The old man appeared to be 60 years old. He was shorter in height, half bald with white hair. But his skin was wrinkled and old. His eyes were sunken.

He was one of the oldest Magic Lords in the Ancient Redwood Country. He was many hundreds of years older than Callen. But even he had been defeated by the passing of time. He had exhausted his potential long ago.

On the other hand, Callenʼs expression darkened. He had come here without a choice. If he had wanted, he could have barged into the True Elements Society alone.

But he was not fooled. The True Elements Society was an Ancient Wizard Organization. Their real heritage was their passed-out students.

Thatʼs why he had waited the last hundred years before making schemes to take over the True Elements Society. He hadnʼt seen other Magic Lords appearing in the True Elements Society.

Thatʼs why he wanted to take action right now. Even if something happened at the last moment, his supporters would save him.

”Old Caleb, help me,” Callen asked in a respectful tone.

Most of the Magic Lords were not ambitious. They didnʼt have families, whereas very few, like him, sat as ancestors to continue the family lineage.

Caleb showed his crooked teeth while smiling.

”Alright, Iʼll come with you. Itʼs been a long time since I caused destruction and captured beauty,” his eyes flashed with a sinister glow.

Callen knew what kind of evil person Caleb was. In many cases, Caleb was much worse. Since he had asked for help, he could turn a blind eye to some other things.

Swoosh!

The next second, they left the place and started moving towards the Ancient Redwood Country.

...

True Elements Society;

Everything was going normally on the surface. But the undercurrents were surging. If not careful, the whole True Elements Society might collapse.

Swoosh!

Howard Mason returned. When he entered the airspace of the True Elements Society, he immediately sensed a couple of Supreme Wizards who had been in retreat earlier.

He had read the messages before coming here. His eyes turned icy. He didnʼt know how many Supreme Wizards were traitors.

Swoosh!

He then disappeared from the spot and returned to the office.

”Phew,” he heaved a sigh of relief.

”Where should I start from?” Howard Mason muttered.

So many things had happened during his absence.

He thought for a moment before summoning Supreme Wizard Phylia. He found out that Supreme Wizard Phylia was active. She was not in retreat.

Shortly afterwards,

Old lady Phylia entered the room. Upon seeing the Head Howard, she sighed in relief.

”Head, where have you been?” she asked before taking the seat opposite him.

”I had gone to the border to investigate something. The chaotic climate there disturbs the signals. No Wizard below level 10 can survive there,” he said without any anger.

”Chaotic climate,” old lady Phyliaʼs eyes flickered.

She knew there were a lot of places in the Ancient Redwood Country that could put Supreme Wizards in danger.

”Alright, tell me about the situation here,” Howard asked.

Hearing that, old lady Phylia began to explain. In the past few days, she had learned about the events that had happened recently.

About 27 minutes later,

”We donʼt know who might jump out to attack next,” old lady Phylia said.

”So they are in the underground prison. You have done a good job. Since his son is locked up here, old man Callen wonʼt dare to attack us,” Howard said in a cold tone.

Before coming here, he had thought it was the Aristocratic Faction causing problems. But it turned out the source behind the problem was the Perry Family.

He had driven away old man Callen last time. Not only had he not learned any lesson, but his family members had dared to attack inside the campus.

Old lady Phylia stayed silent. She knew Head Howard was thinking.

”You said, the Supreme Wizard Gibson tried to enter the Special Mage Department,” he asked.

”Yes. If not for my appearance, he would have entered forcibly,” Phylia replied.

”Okay, letʼs start from Aaron Perry. It would be good if he spills information,” after saying that, he disappeared from the spot.

Swoosh!

The next second, old lady Phylia disappeared from the spot as well.

Both of them were moving towards the underground prison. In the blink of an eye, they appeared above the big well and went inside.

Within seconds, they touched down on the ground.

Howard then took a few steps forward before arriving at the first prison cell. He saw Rhys Perry locked up inside.

Howard saw there was no sign of struggle whatsoever. He heard from Phylia that she had put a ban on these three.

On top of it, he saw the anti-magic chains as well. With these measures, it was impossible for them to escape.

Rhys Perry heard some noise before opening his eyes. His gaze immediately fell on the middle-aged man. At first, he didnʼt take it seriously, but when his gaze fell on the old woman standing behind him.

His pupils shrank. He thought that the person was younger than her, but he wouldnʼt be fooled by the appearance. He thought the middle-aged man was an old monster.

”Who are you?” he asked.

Howard smiled and replied, ”Iʼm Howard Mason, Head of the True Elements Society.”

Hearing that, Rhys Perry shuddered. His whole body began to tremble. He had heard the name before.

”Magic Lord,” he uttered with great difficulty.

”You are right. Iʼm a Magic Lord. I heard you dared to conspire and attack inside our organization. You truly must rely on your father,” Howard said in a calm tone.

But his calm words fell like a thunderclap in Rhys Perryʼs ears.

Pfff!

He coughed up blood. A mere voice injured him. Rhys Perryʼs eyes flashed with fear. A fear of death occupied his heart. He had thought no one would kill him because of his father.

But he felt it might not happen.

”What do you want?” he asked.

Howard asked, ”I want to know about your familyʼs intentions. What are they planning to do?”

Hearing that, Rhys Perryʼs expression changed drastically. He understood that if he didnʼt say anything, he might suffer.

”I donʼt know much. I had returned after hearing of my sonʼs death. My sonʼs murder happened inside the Main City, so we suspected someone from the organization had done it.”

”The only clue we had was that kid named Vincent Carey. He was last seen in the Perry Hotel not long before my son mysteriously died.”

”So we wanted to capture and interrogate him to find out the truth. But itʼs a pity that the kid has good luck. We had missed so many chances to capture him.”

”In the end, I was desperate to act. Without any choice left, I entered the organization to find that kid.”

”But before we could find him, we were captured by Supreme Wizard Phylia,” Rhys Perry confessed. He didnʼt even hesitate to do it.

Howard was surprised. Old lady Phylia was stunned.

”So whatʼs your fatherʼs next move?” Howard asked.

This was the thing that was most bothering him. He could handle anything under a Magic Lord easily. He wanted to know what old man Callen was up to.

”My father, I donʼt know. I had been doing these things secretly,” Rhys Perry answered.

Howard nodded before moving to the next cell. Phylia followed.

Aaron Perry was locked up in the next cell. He was aware as well. Upon seeing Head Howard, his eyes flashed with horror and deep regret. He hadnʼt imagined ending up in this situation before.

”You are truly a scum,” Howard said.

Aaron Perryʼs face turned ugly. He couldnʼt even refute it. He was caught red-handed.

”If you donʼt want to suffer torture and death, tell me whatʼs going on,” Howard asked.

Aaron knew it was impossible to escape, so he decided to tell everything that he knew.

About 18 minutes later,

Howardʼs eyes flickered. He understood that Aaron Perry was acting on behalf of Rhys Perry. But no matter what crime is a crime, even if itʼs one of their council elders.

When Howard moved to the next cell,

Milo said, ”Head, I was wrong. I was greedy for resources, which led me to this situation. I promise that it wonʼt happen again.”

Howardʼs eyes turned cold. To think two of his council elders ended up as traitors. His heart was boiling with anger. But he was not in a hurry to kill them. He still needed to weed out other weeds.
