Chapter 1519 Win Again

He felt like he understood a small piece of what was going on, and it all came down to that feeling he had experienced before it.

That knight had felt... so large, too large, almost like it encompassed the vastness of the universe. Yet, it had given a piece of itself to Sylas.

Sylas couldnʼt help but wonder...

Why create a system?

It made sense to make one for your own Clan or Race of people, wanting to use it to suppress others. But why spread it across the universe? Was it supposed to be out of the kindness of your heart?

Maybe there were such people like that out there, but Sylas wasnʼt naive enough to believe that there was a substantial percentage chance of such a thing being true. Whoever created the system was getting something out of it.

Sylas had gotten an inkling of that every time the system rewarded him for figuring out how to do something without its direct help, almost like it was using him to optimize itself so that it could grow stronger.

But now, he felt that feeling even more acutely, but instead through a method that was maybe even more sinister.

That knight... it had given a piece of itself to Sylas.

Why would it do that?

The answer seemed simple enough when Sylas thought about it.

It gave him a piece so that he could nurture it. Then, when the time was right...

it would come to take it back.

But none of that explained just what Champion Will was. There was no change to his Title, however... Sylas raised a palm, looking at it. He activated Aetherborne Will—or so he thought—and his Will flowed out. But instead of forming in the usual green color, it carried with it undertones of gold.

So regal and majestic, it flowed akin to silk in the depths of the ocean, feeling so very real, so very alive.

It was almost intoxicating to use his own Will, an emotion he couldnʼt quite explain.

In fact, Sylas had a feeling if he wasnʼt suppressing his own eyes right now, heʼd practically crush everything around him with the weight of his gaze.

Let alone needing to use his Glassvolt Aether—nhis gaze literally carried with it the weight of a momentum.

If you were powerful enough, youʼd be lucky to fall to your knees.

If you were too weak, youʼd be directly flattened into a mushy mess of blood, flesh, and bone.

His Will seemingly hadnʼt changed, and yet everything had changed.

Sylas turned his palm over, almost as though examining his hand. His expression remained calm, analyzing every little detail, trying to see just what it might be hiding from him.

But the more he inspected, the more inexplicable it felt.

Just what was this thing?

“Hot hand...

Sylasʼ gaze flashed as he thought about that odd phenomenon he had seen before the real Tower of Champions began—the sight of one blade forming after another—and suddenly, he acted on instinct.

Reaching out his other hand, a blade appeared in his palm. Rusted and hiltless, it sliced his hand open nonetheless. It looked so real and corporeal, but only Sylas and the little girl were all too sure that this blade was little more than a projection of Sylasʼ Will. Or, more accurately, a manifestation formed of his Will and his Ancestral Gene Talent, Blade Aura.

The blade wasnʼt real, but what it represented couldnʼt have been more real even if it tried.

images of Authrioneʼs trident replayed in Sylasʼ mind. He recalled the feeling it gave his Mixed Demonic Arts. He clearly felt every ebb and flow, every twist and turn.

His hand, the one that was opposite his blade-wielding hand, suddenly trembled. The emerald-gold Will shook and formed a trident, bold and almost graceful in its appearance. It was the perfect projection of a weapon.

Slowly, Sylas brought his two hands together, and right then...

BOOM.

Sylasʼ hair blew back, dancing wildly in the air as the trident seemed to become very real. Waves roared in the air, wind flowing like tsunamis and cyclones.

Holding out the trident, Sylas swiped down a single time, and all of the rolling waves became obedient in a single instant of time.

[Ancestral Harmony Formed]

[Blade Aura (Ancestral Gene Talent), Grimblade Lineage (Legendary Gene), Mixed Demonic Arts (Legendary Comprehension) have formed a union] [Ancestral Harmony Weapon Aura Formed]

Sylas looked at his trident and released it. With a thought, it wildly expanded in size, growing until it pierced out of the hull of the vessel. And yet, it didnʼt harm a single panel under Sylasʼ control.

The trident swept out toward the depths of space.

Even from within, and without laying a single glance on it, Sylas could feel it from a distance, almost as though the trident was him and he was the trident.

BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.

The vacuum of space crackled and boomed, Sylasʼ Will forcefully allowing sound to travel and laws to form.

Sylas stood there in a quiet daze for a while.

He didnʼt particularly care about this ability. What was curious was instead how easily it was formed.

He felt that his best path forward was still close combat. Though, there was potential in having weapons that carried the aspects of Blade Aura to throw around.

That said...

“Devouring.ʼ

He felt he had finally caught onto the faintest edges of what Champion Will was capable of. When the little girl spoke of continuously winning, she may have put it too simply because that was the only thing she could get away with.

It was no wonder it triggered his Grimblade Lineage.

The Ravult werenʼt the only Race who seemed to have aspects of what Champion Will was supposed to represent. In fact, it might be the case that Champion Will was precisely so very difficult to define because what it could be was constantly changing.

If he wanted to unearth Champion Will and its secrets, he would have to do exactly what the little girl spoke of.

Win.

Win.

And win again.
