Genetic Ascension

Chapter 1464: The Power of Mastery

The golden glow around Sylas slowly faded, his gaze becoming a bit dim. Then he stood there in silence, hanging in the air as though the wind beneath his feet was flat ground. Calm and almost gently, he breathed out.

Slowly, his gaze regained focus and his expression sharpened. The first thing he did was open his status screen to see that he hadnʼt imagined it. All of his Wisdom Genes were gone, swallowed whole by his Legendary Wisdom Gene.

it shouldnʼt have been a surprise that he had successfully absorbed it given he had an 80% chance of succeeding, but it was a relief nonetheless. If he had missed out on something so great, it would have been a shame.

He was in a situation too dangerous to pass up on opportunity because of such a small chance of failure. He had learned long ago only to maximize things as far as he could afford to.

Surrounded by enemies from such powerful Clans and organizations, he would be playing with fire if he held back now, especially since even failure would have come with great benefits.

Sylas was a Perfect Spark Master now. Even if he failed with Extricate, the insight into Wisdom that failure would give him wouldnʼt end there.

Sylas flipped a palm over and the world shook violently. It was as though something unacceptable was happening, and yet Sylas didnʼt care in the slightest.

His eyes flashed, his new and improved Wisdom pouring out one perfect Stroke after another.

He couldnʼt remember the last time he had spent so long on a Rune, but it took him an entire hour before he had completed just about 10% of it and stopped.

This wasnʼt because he felt he would fail, but instead because he had made it far enough to be confident that he would succeed.

He could draw a perfect Legendary Wisdom Gene.

In fact, Sylas had the ability to perfectly replicate any Gene he had in his body right this moment. The only reason he chose to buy them instead was because it was a better use of his time since he was so rich.

But there was no method of buying Legendary Genes...

There was almost certainly a method of selling them though.

it seemed that poverty wouldnʼt be something heʼd experience. He couldnʼt absorb a second Legendary Wisdom Gene because it would be redundant, but he could sell it, and if he could help his subordinates improve enough.. He could create an unprecedented power.

It took more than a single generation to accumulate, was it? Wasnʼt that what that Scorpion Emperor Sanctum elder had said?

Sylas would see how long that opinion of his lasted for.

Taking a breath and exhaling once again, Sylas realized that the Browning Gold Elixir was no longer effective on him. Now, his baseline state was beyond his previous state with it in effect.

His mind was now fully making use of all 320 389 Wisdom stat points on his screen, and it made him feel... Alive.

His reactions had enver been quicker, his thoughts never swifter.

He closed his eyes.

He stood there for another full hour, not moving a single inch. And then, surged of gold suddenly began to spontaneously sweep toward him.

[Maddened Enlightenment (F) (Gene Skill)] (Progenitor Mastery)

[You are deeply in tune with the Madness of your Ancestors. It helps you to focus, relax and form a oneness with the world. Understanding yourself is a form of peace, but understanding your place in the world makes you you Enlightened] [Passively replenish Aether at a rate of 7% per ten minute for every 1000 Wisdom]

[Passively replenish Wisdom at a rate of 7% per ten minute for every 1000 Wisdom] [Actively replenish Aether at a rate of 30% per minute for every 1000 Wisdom]

[Actively replenish Wisdom at a rate of 30% per minute for every 1000 Wisdom]

The description looked very impressive. The so-called ”1000 Wisdom” was actually based on Earth standards, so this meant that it should actually read ”for every 1 Wisdom” now.

The problem with that, of course, was that a mere F Gene Skill couldnʼt possibly scaled up provide 30%x300000 replenishment. There was an implied cap that Sylas’ Scouting Skill of the time couldnʼt see through.

By the time you got to 10000 Wisdom, or just 10 Wisdom, the Skill would completely break down. There was a reason Sylas hadnʼt used it in such a long time. He simply hadnʼt had the time to improve it despite his Madness Comprehension and [Madness Control] leaving it far behind.

Now, however, everything would change.

[Maddened Enlightenment (FFF+) (Growth Skill)] (Progenitor Mastery)

[You are deeply in tune with the Madness of your Ancestors. It helps you to focus, relax and form a oneness with the world. Understanding yourself is a form of peace, but understanding your place in the world makes you Enlightened. Understanding your place in the world makes you Enlightened, but understanding your Wisdomʼs place in your mind makes you your own Idol] [Passively replenish Aether at a rate of 10% per ten minute for every 10000 Wisdom]

[Passively replenish Wisdom at a rate of 10% per ten minute for every 10000 Wisdom] [Actively replenish Aether at a rate of 30% per minute for every 10000 Wisdom] [Actively replenish Wisdom at a rate of 30% per minute for every 10000 Wisdom]

It was an absolutely ridiculous Growth Skill, one that looked almost cartoonish.

it made Sylas realize just how much potential he was leaving on the table with his current Skills having such poor Mastery. This was what all of his Skills could look like if he could just get them to Progenitor Mastery.

Without even activating [Maddened Enlightenment] now, he could recover over 320% of his Wisdom and Aether in just 10 minutes. That meant, as long as he wasnʼt burning through all of his Aether and Wisdom in under three minutes... He would never run out. Sylas had two Legendary Gene Classes within him, and every one of his Skills had this level of potential within them.

He had known before that he needed to raise their Mastery...

But now he was even more determined.
