I reported you for selling fake medicine. If I stop selling it, why are you crying?

Chapter 118 The rent must be increasedChapter 118 The rent must be increased
Chen Long and Chen Shi have not found new jobs since they were kicked out of the medicine garden.

The main reason is that they don’t want to go far away, and the only place near their home that recruits workers is the medicine garden, so they are temporarily unemployed and hang around in the village all day, occasionally going to the neighboring village to play cards and gamble.

The two were about to leave the village that day.

Under the old banyan tree at the entrance of the village, a few old men were chatting enthusiastically about something.

Only when the two men came closer did I hear what they were saying.

”What’s up with Zhang San from the next village? He bought a lot of good things.”

”Yes, I bought several sets of children’s clothes and spare ribs. The electric bike he rides seems to be new too!”

”It’s definitely new. I’ve seen his car before. It’s a blue electric bike, and it’s very worn out.”

”My goodness, has he made a fortune?”

”That Zhang Shan too, and that kid Zhang He! They bought so many good things!”

”Why do the people in their village seem to have gotten rich today?”

Chen Long and Chen Shi didn’t care much at first.

But they heard a familiar name from the old men - Zhang Shan.

Lao Zhang?

How did he get rich?
A farmer.

If you can get rich by farming, then everyone in the world will be rich!

Chen Long couldn’t help but interrupt and asked, ”Sixth Uncle, you just said that Zhang Shan bought a lot of things?”

An old man with gray hair answered:

”Yes, I was just sitting here when I saw him riding by on his bike. There was half a pork rib hanging on his bike. He said he wanted to give some to his wife and children. He also had a lot of new clothes and shoes. He must have just returned from the city.”

Lao Zhang?

How could he be so generous as to buy so many things at once?
Chen Long knew this man very well. He was usually very stingy, or very thrifty, and was usually not willing to even ask for a cigarette.

I haven’t seen him buy anything in such a long time.

Now you’re buying ribs, clothes and shoes?
It seems like he has really made a fortune!
How to get rich?

There is no doubt that it must be the medicine garden paying salaries.

Both Chen Long and Chen Shi remembered that today was the day when the medicine garden paid salaries!

”Could it be that what the new boss said is true, and the salary and benefits at the medicine garden have really increased?”

”And judging by the situation, the improvement is quite a lot!”

When he thought of this, Chen Long felt irritated.

When the new boss first mentioned raising the salary, he actually didn’t really believe it.

In his opinion, these bosses are not good people.

It is said to be a promotion, but in the end you may even have to deduct money.

Who knew it would be true this time!

”Brother Long, if we hadn’t left then, maybe we could make some money now,” Chen Shi said with envy.

Chen Long looked at the guy with contempt.

”They’ve already chased you away, and you still want to stick around and help them do their work?”

”That was not what I meant.”

”Damn, the more I think about it, the more upset I feel. Why did you chase us away?” Chen Long said hatefully.

In fact, they were really angry at that time.

But after a while, the anger basically subsided.

They also forgot about the revenge on the medicine garden.

Now that they knew that Lao Zhang had become rich, the jealousy in their hearts was ignited again.

”No, I must get him!”

”If I can’t live well, I won’t let him live well either!” Chen Long gritted his teeth.

As Chen Long’s follower, Chen Shi naturally agreed with everything Chen Long said.

He said nervously, ”Brother Long, are we really going to set fire to the medicine garden as I told you?”

Chen Long slapped him on the back of the head.

”You’re an idiot. You were just saying that to show your respect. In this day and age, if you really set a fire, aren’t you afraid of going to jail?”

”Besides, you saw the herb garden you passed by recently, right? They harvested all the herbs. What are you doing?”

Chen Shi scratched his head in grievance. ”If I don’t want to burn it, then I won’t burn it. Why are you hitting me?”

Chen Long pondered for a moment and said, ”The land of the medicine garden is rented from our village. We can ask Uncle San to raise their landlord salary! Humph!”

Chen Shi suddenly understood.

”This is a great idea. I can get revenge and get money at the same time! It’s so cool!”

The two hit it off immediately and went to the home of the village chief Chen Jiali and told Chen Jiali about the matter.

Chen Jiali didn’t agree at first.

”What nonsense are you talking about? The village has signed a contract with the medicinal garden. The lease is for fifteen years, and the annual rent is four hundred yuan per mu. Only three years have passed. How can they breach the contract?”

But Chen Jia said, ”Uncle San, that’s not what you mean.”

”When Boss Lin signed the contract with us, it was actually a bit deceptive. This contract should not be valid.”

”The market price at that time was 400 yuan per mu, but what about now, Uncle? It’s only been three years, and it has risen to 600 yuan per mu. What about in a few years? How much money have we lost?”

I have to say that although Chen Long is not a good person, he has a clear mind and many clever ideas.

After he said this, Chen Jiali suddenly hesitated.

What he said does make sense.

The contract was signed for fifteen years, and during this period the market rent had been rising, but they could only charge four hundred yuan per acre.

It’s really a loss.

Chen Jiali didn’t think there was anything wrong at first, but after Chen Long said that, he also felt uncomfortable.

Chen Long continued to persuade him: ”Uncle San, let’s raise the rent for him. It’s absolutely reasonable.”

But Chen Jiali still hesitated: ”What if he doesn’t agree and simply doesn’t rent it?”

”That’s a breach of contract, he has to pay us liquidated damages!”

”Besides, he has invested so much money, bought so much equipment, and built the garden. Wouldn’t it be a big loss if he doesn’t rent it out?”

Hearing this, Chen Jiali nodded.

He immediately decided to go to the medicine garden with Chen Long and Chen Shi to find the boss.

After a while, the three of them arrived at the gate of the medicine garden.

Chen Jiali was in front, with Chen Long and Chen Shi following behind.

”I am Chen Jiali, the village chief of Chenjia Village. Is Boss Cheng here?” Chen Jiali shouted.

Cheng Ming saw three people on the surveillance camera at the gate. When he saw Chen Long and Chen Shi, the two scoundrels, he didn’t want to open the door.

But when they heard the old man say that he was the village chief of Chenjia Village, they let them in.

The three of them came to the warehouse.

”What do you need?” Cheng Ming asked.

”Are you Boss Cheng? I came here today to discuss the land rent with you. After collective discussion in our village, we think the land rent should be increased.”

Cheng Ming’s face looked a little unhappy when he heard this.

”Increase the rent? Didn’t you sign a contract with the medicine garden? The lease term is fifteen years, and the fixed price is four hundred yuan per acre. Is that right?”

Chen Jiali said, ”That’s true, but you see the current market price has risen to 600. How high will it rise in a few years? This will be a huge loss for us in Chenjia Village.”

Upon hearing this, Cheng Ming realized that these people wanted to take advantage of him, and his face immediately turned unhappy.

”What does it have to do with us whether you make a loss or not? The contract has been signed and the money has been paid. I won’t have any extra money to give you!”

Cheng Ming directly took out the contract and refused.

Chen Jiali was an old man and didn’t know what to say for a moment.

Chen Long next to him said unhappily: ”Mr. Cheng, this is our Chenjia Village’s territory after all. I advise you to be sensible and pay the money obediently, otherwise you will be in trouble later!”

”Yes, that’s right!” Chen Shi repeated.

”It’s no use for you to threaten me. You signed the contract yourself. It’s in black and white.”

Cheng Ming is the type who won’t respond to any push or push.

Chen Long and others were furious.

Especially Chen Long, he originally thought that he could easily control this new boss, but he didn’t expect that this boss was quite ”stubborn” and would not be moved by any soft or hard tactics.

Even Chen Long was helpless against him for a while.

The three of them had no choice but to return to the village to discuss it further.
