Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 193: Chapter 193: Jacket

’Instructor Ivy might attract unwanted attention. It’s my duty to protect her.’ Franklin thought, his eyes gleaming with gentleness and adoration.

He wished to transform into a protective talisman and wrap himself around her neck. Her otherworldly beauty matched with her talent is a fatal attraction.

Even someone like him, who had decent self-control, couldn’t resist her.

”No need...” Ivy began, but the next moment Franklin interrupted with a serious expression,

”Instructor Ivy, with my assistance, you will reach your destination quickly, and I can also watch out for your back.”

Ivy paused. Honestly, Franklin was telling the truth. His presence will significantly shorten the journey time.

”Alright.” She nodded and started walking. Franklin followed behind and took off the jacket he was wearing.

”Instructor Ivy, you should wear this jacket. What if a zombie used some dirty trick and scratched your back?”

Ivy didn’t decline; in her hurry, she forgot about the minute problems.

Although she was confident that no zombie could approach her, she believed that being cautious was wiser than feeling regret later.

Franklin’s heart pounded like a drum as she wrapped the warm jacket with its lingering musk perfume around herself. Instructor Ivy had worn his jacket!

He will frame it!

Due to Ivy’s scooty, they hardly encountered any zombies. Franklin, who was sitting behind her, zapped the few zombies they encountered.

’Ah... the weather is so beautiful. The zombies passing by are so pleasing to look at! Even the dirty world seems so bright!’

Zombies: (ㆆ_ㆆ) Yeah, whatever.

On reaching the base entrance, Ivy showed the ID card and entered the base.

Ivy got off the scooty when they arrived at the building and turned to face Franklin.

”You can leave now. Take the scooty with you; I will borrow one from the military.”

Franklin stared at the building before chuckling, ”Alright then, I will leave.”

”Thank you for your company.” Ivy nodded with a polite smile, but inside she was dying to rush to Silas’s apartment.

”Oh, right... Instructor Ivy, the captain has asked me to inform you about the new soldier. He also wanted to discuss the training plan.” Franklin informed.

”Okay, I will...”

”Ivy?” A familiar deep masculine voice called out, attracting Ivy and Franklin’s attention.

The moment Ivy saw the man with blonde hair and deep blue eyes, her heart skipped a beat. Silas’s hair and eyes had mutated just like in the last life...

He still looked like the reliable and powerful figure from her past life, only... this time his deep blue eyes seemed to have become even more seductive.

With his long legs, he quickly shortened the distance between them and appeared right in front of her.

The woody scent relaxed her tense nerves, and her heart thudded loudly against her chest.

’He is back...’ She thought and was about to drag him toward the building when she heard Franklin’s voice.

”Who are you?” His voice was mixed with hostility. and caution.

’Why is Franklin acting so strange?’ She wondered and was about to introduce Silas when Silas calmly stated.

”Her husband.”

Ivy: (˶°ㅁ°) !!

Franklin’s jaw tightened, and his hand twitched as if ready to reach for his weapon. His eyes darted between Ivy and Silas.

”Husband?” Franklin repeated, his tone sharp. ”Instructor Ivy never mentioned that.”

Ivy’s face burned crimson.

’Of course I didn’t mention it! We aren’t married yet!’

She wanted to explain, but her throat felt tight; her words stuck.

Silas, however, didn’t look bothered at all. He kept his deep gaze fixed on Franklin and spoke again, calm but firm.

”Yes. I am her husband.”

Franklin clenched his fists. His heart stung, but he forced a smile. ”If that’s true, then you must prove it.”

”Prove it?” Ivy finally found her voice. ”Franklin, that’s enough. You’re being disrespectful.”

After all, even though Silas claims to be her husband, there is no proof to support his assertion.

If Franklin continues to insist, then Silas will be proven wrong.

Franklin lowered his head slightly. ”Forgive me, Instructor Ivy. I only want to make sure you’re safe.”

Silas stepped closer, his hand brushing against Ivy’s as if to claim her. The gentle touch made her shiver.

He looked at Franklin once more, his voice steady.

”I don’t need to prove it with words. My actions will show you. Protecting Ivy is my duty, not yours.”

Before Franklin could come up with a retort, Silas turned toward Ivy and took out the coat she was wearing in a swift motion.

The moment Silas saw Ivy’s dress, his breathing hitched, and his eyes traveled to her plump lips.

It took him all his self-control not to carry her in his arms and do the things he was dreaming of doing.

’Calm down, Silas! Calm down! She must be here to confront me about Patricia. I will then have the chance to tell the truth and apologize for my stupid plan. Once we have talked things out... then we can move to the next stage.’

Franklin’s heart tightened when he saw the dazed look in Ivy’s eyes, as if, apart from Silas, no one existed, and his soul almost left his body.

The next second, Silas threw the jacket in Franklin’s direction and draped his jacket on Ivy’s body.

Franklin caught the jacket in surprise. His face darkened, and his grip on the fabric tightened.

Silas didn’t even spare him a glance. He carefully adjusted his jacket on Ivy, his fingers brushing her shoulders with familiarity.

”This suits you better,” he said softly, his voice low enough for only her to hear.

Franklin stepped forward. ”Instructor Ivy, you don’t have to accept this. I can...”

Silas cut him off, his sharp gaze turning to Franklin. ”You’ve done enough. Go back.”

Franklin froze. The authority in Silas’s voice felt heavier than anything he had heard before.

Still, he refused to back down. ”Instructor Ivy, say the word. If you don’t want this man near you, I will remove him.”

”Franklin!” Ivy raised her voice, startling him.
