Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Nightmare-1

”Find a trusted soldier who doesn’t have such symptoms. Ask them to lock up Ronan, Mark, and Parker. Put all the soldiers who have fainted in a separate, protected, and warm place.” Ivy commanded, her cold voice left no space for argument.

Harris, Stephen’s most trusted aide, was stunned to hear Ivy’s voice. He knew Ivy, and he also knew how she had saved the general’s life today.

However... was it the right decision to hear her commands? And where was Silas?

His silence was enough to convey his question to Ivy, who continued,

”Silas has fainted, too. Just to listen to my words. If anything happens, I will take responsibility.”

Harris: (°ロ°) Sister, this isn’t about responsibility.

During a mission, if an outsider claims to take all responsibility, the person punished in the end would be the military man, not the outsider, in case a mishap happens.

Knowing fully well the consequences, Harris decided to trust Ivy. She was Silas’s future wife after all. Technically, she wasn’t an outsider.

”Okay.” Harris agreed. With the given situation, Harris felt Ivy’s command was correct. And even if anything went wrong, he would be the one who would be punished.

After the call was hung up, Ivy stared at Silas and muttered,

”So this is why Stephen didn’t have the strength to fight... all of them are about to awaken a superpower.”

Maybe Stephen was feeling unwell all along; however, he still carried out the mission. At the end, when his strength was waning, he went to check on the sound, and the zombie snake left by Ronan bit Stephen.

”How stupid of you, Ivy...” Ivy muttered.

A day passed.

Feeling the urge to relieve herself, Ivy bit her lips and looked around to see if she could find a public washroom.

To her dismay, there wasn’t any.

”Temporal Storage, do you have a washroom?” Ivy asked hopefully.

[Do you want to build a washroom?]

Ivy was in a hurry and nodded, ”Yes!”

[It will cost 1 KB.]

”I agree,” Ivy replied.

[Building the washroom... Process completed. Current balance 47.7 KB]

Ivy entered the temporal storage. Though she felt that the washroom was very expensive, her complaints vanished the moment she saw the washroom.

It was of 500 sq. ft.

The walls and floor were made of teak wood. There was a 3 mirror with a backlight, below which was a teak wood cabinet. Right in front of the mirror was a jacuzzi, which was protected by non-transparent glass.

On the left side was a water closet, surrounded by glass walls. Even from a distance, Ivy knew that it was made of some high-tech material.

There was a separate shower head, too. But Ivy wasn’t in the mood to admire it. She used the washroom and used the handwash she had taken from the car.

Then she took a shower and returned to the car.

Time passed. Ivy had moved Silas to the backseat, since sitting in the car seat constantly might have given him aches all over his body.

..............

Ivy was sleeping when suddenly she opened her eyes and opened the car door. She started to walk ahead with a dazed expression.

After 30 minutes, she stopped and regained her senses.

Looking at the unfamiliar place, Ivy was taken aback, before her expression fell.

A timer appeared in the air.

15:00

The land below Ivy’s feet flashed with a blue light, and food packets appeared.

Ivy glanced down curiously and was a bit delighted to see salt.

Just like before, there were only packets of salts; however, it came with a different variety.

Ivy bent down and picked up a table salt packet of 300g and stored it in the space.

Her action was smooth, and she didn’t even pause for a second.

Sea salt of 400g? Picked.

Kosher salt of 200g? Picked.

Smoked salt of 250g? Picked.

Rock salt of 300g? Picked.

Fleur de sel salt of 360g? Picked.

Flavored salts of 200g? Picked.

Seasoning Salt of 500g? Picked.

Mineral salt of 300g? Picked.

Iodised salt of 260g? Picked.

Pickling salt of 100g? Picked.

Black Hawaiian salt, Sel gris, Garlic salt, Flake salt, Hawaiian salt, Celtic salt, Persian blue salt, and English gray salt.

With experience from previous times, Ivy quickly picked salt varieties, and this time she was so quick that she ended up picking 50kg of salt.

Even with her full speed, more than half of the items weren’t picked up by Ivy. It all disappeared as the timer reached 00:00.

Ivy collapsed on the ground. She was so tired that she didn’t want to move.

”Salt and rice... it should be enough to survive for a while even if I don’t pick up anything in the next 3 months.”

However, for Ivy, it wasn’t enough. She wanted to hoard to the point that she could sit back and enjoy for an entire lifetime without doing anything.

She wanted so much food that even if she distributed her food to 100s of people, she would still be left with a huge amount of food.

Returning to the car, Ivy looked at Silas who was still sleeping, and she too fell asleep.

................

”Little Ivy... where are you? Come out. Let me hand you back to the leader. ” A deep voice echoed in the room, as Ivy held her breath. She was hiding inside the box.

On a closer look, she had become so skinny that only her bones were left. Even fitting into a cardboard box that can only fit a kid wasn’t a challenge for her.

Her eyes, which were emitting pink light, were hollow and lifeless.

”Ivy, I will count to 5. And if you don’t come out. I will let Jose and Nathan have their turn. If you come out on your own, I will only let my two buddies have fun with you.” Ronan’s voice was like a haunting melody for Ivy.

She was frightened and furious. Her heart was beating so fast that Ivy feared they would find her just from the heartbeat.
