The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2042: Cain vs Azazel - Final Battle

The highest skies roared with explosions, and in the endless void beyond, the battle surged toward an apocalyptic crescendo. Leviathan and Jörmungandr tore into each other with a brutality and strength that set the surrounding emptiness ablaze. Every clash was a storm unto itself, every strike a calamity made flesh.

Cain and Azazel knew this war would end here. Neither of them held anything back, not in power, not in intent. There would be no stalemate, no retreat. The void itself bore witness to the unshakable reality: only one of them would leave this battleground alive.

The two titans collided, claws rending against claws, their monstrous forms straining against one another in primal fury. Both opened their maws, and the oceans of energy churning within them erupted in the next heartbeat. A cataclysm of crimson and ash-gray fire cascaded outward, devouring everything in a torrent of annihilation.

The shockwave hurled them in opposite directions, searing flesh and cracking scales, but their resolve only hardened. Wounds smoldered across their bodies, and still their eyes locked, burning with unyielding intent. Neither faltered. Neither feared.

Then, just as they poised to charge once more, Leviathan’s eyes gleamed with a meaningful light. A wide smile curved across his draconic face. In that instant, Liberación Total reverted itself. The towering Primarch of Conquest dissolved, replaced by Cain’s humanoid figure standing unshaken in the void. His expression was radiant with serenity, yet his smile gleamed with razor-edged confidence.

Azazel’s brow furrowed. He could not comprehend Cain’s behavior—until he felt it. His gaze snapped downward.

Across the world below, entire continents began to glow. One by one, their latent energy surged upward, flowing into the void itself, threading itself into Cain’s body until his form blazed like a star.

”Impossible!” Azazel’s roar tore free before he could restrain it. The sight before him defied reason.

It was already common knowledge that the Scarlet King could channel the origin power through the Everlife Continent and its surrounding lands. That alone had stunned everybody. But this—this broke every conceivable limit. The energy Cain summoned was not confined to mere continents; it reached across the boundaries of the world itself, threading into the void, answering his call without resistance.

A look of pure bliss flared in Cain’s eyes as the origin power poured into him, filling every cell in his body and nurturing every particle of his soul.

”I should thank you,” he said softly, his voice carrying across the void like a sovereign decree. His smile widened. ”You gave me the perfect stage to show the world the might of the Scarlet Path.”

The only barrier that had ever limited Ao’s control over the world’s energy was the collective will of the people who lived within it. But Cain’s actions had reshaped that will, witnessed by all through the psychic screens of the Imperium of Time.

Their admiration and awe toward the Scarlet King allowed them all to harmonize with the Scarlet Path, granting Ao unprecedented dominion. At last, Ao shattered his limitations. His reach extended through every corner of the Everstrife Empyrean World, and even the void beyond.

Cain, of course, had no intention of revealing such truths. His aura surged, the killing intent in his eyes cresting at its zenith.

”Resurrección!”

The word thundered like a divine verdict.

World energy and origin power were all the fuel needed for Cain and the Primarch of Conquest Leviathan to merge into one. With Ao’s support, no backlash restrained him. The fusion was perfect, unchained.

”Now it ends,” Cain declared.

His power erupted. Gravity, entropy, nihility, time, evolution, the sundering of worlds—all cosmic power converged into his single form. A mere gesture of his hand promised devastation beyond measure.

Jörmungandr hesitated, his massive body stilling. His form rippled, reversed, and fell away, revealing Azazel once more.

”Ahhh...” The True Depravita released a weary sigh, the weight of ages in his tone. Defeat shadowed his features. Exhaustion hollowed his stance. ”I suppose I will not be able to return home.”

Those words should have belonged to a man resigned to his fate. Yet Cain’s eyes narrowed. Something was wrong.

But instinct demanded he act. Scarlet flames engulfed his fists as his aura detonated, and he surged forward with impossible speed. In the blink of an eye, he was upon Azazel, ready to obliterate the Depravita’s skull with a strike that could burn a world to ash.

And then—

Two colossal crimson eyes manifested in the void behind him.

The moment they opened, a shockwave surged forth, slamming into Cain and hurling him across the void. He tumbled, but his mastery was absolute; in an instant, he stabilized, his expression hardening into grim solemnity.

Those eyes. He had seen them before.

”They are the same eyes,” Cain whispered, his voice low with memory, ”that I encountered when I sealed my Entropy Supernova Depravita Astral Supremacy Star.”

His senses extended, pushing his mind to its utmost limit. The left eye flickered faintly, weakened, while the right blazed at full, terrible power.

Azazel turned toward them, his gaze trembling with devotion like a child beholding the presence of a father.

”They were my ticket back,” he admitted, voice raw. His eyes, however, never wavered from Cain. ”However...”

The True Depravita’s expression sharpened, carved with iron determination that seemed to radiate from the marrow of his being. ”The mission comes first.”

The red eyes convulsed, energy bursting forth, funneling into Azazel’s body in torrents. His aura climbed, stronger and stronger still, until every trace of that borrowed might merged seamlessly into him.

”Resurrección!”

The word tore the void asunder.

Azazel and Jörmungandr fused as one.

The being that emerged was divine horror made manifest. He became an entity of black, molten stone-flesh cracked with glowing orange fissures, magma pulsing like rivers beneath the skin. From his skull rose a burning crown of temporal fire, a halo of eternity itself. His eyes glowed like twin suns, radiant with the weight of countless ages. Every motion of his immense form carried deliberation, as though time itself bent beneath his will. His fists seethed with the strength to shatter moments; his presence alone warped the flow of reality around him.
