The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 1983: Searching for new allies

Cain closed his eyes for a moment, allowing the tide of information to settle.

The knowledge of the brothers’ Paths was immense—far more than mere texts. It carried insight, the weight of lived comprehension, fragments of understanding so profound that no words could capture them. Usually such things could not be shared; they were woven too deeply into the soul.

But the Scarlet Leviathans were now part of Amon and Bael, threads of Cain’s throne anchored in their essence. Through them, that knowledge could flow directly into the Primarch of Conquest Leviathan, which was the core of Cain’s mind and ego. The transfer was smooth, seamless, and terrifyingly efficient.

When the process ended, Cain nodded once and began to instruct.

”I will analyze your Paths. In the meantime, focus on strengthening your Scarlet Leviathans so you can forge your Scarlet Stars. With the current energy level of your Alter Egos, yoy lack the power to trigger Resurrecion.”

The brothers bowed their heads. Their Ego Eternal Paths of Power were formidable, but both remained only at the early stage of Mind and Soul as One. Unlike Cain, their talent did not allow them to leap forward so easily. For them, triggering Resurrecion would take time and refinement. They understood this, and they accepted his words without protest.

Satisfied, Cain guided them back toward the broken entrance of the Ouroboros Cult’s sacred dimension. The place itself had lost much of its value once Cain had sundered the portal, but for his purposes, it would serve perfectly.

With a wave of his hand, a small sphere of purple light took shape.

”This is a portal to the Samsara Arsenal Module,” Cain explained. ”Inside that realm, your training will be greatly enhanced. It can also serve as a gateway of escape. I doubt Azazel will move against you so soon, but should he strike, this portal will carry you out.”

Amon and Bael exchanged glances, relief stirring in their hearts. They knew Azazel’s power was formidable—painful though it was to admit, they could not hope to defeat him alone. The existence of this gateway gave them a measure of safety they had sorely lacked.

With that matter resolved, Cain pressed forward.

”Now—give me everything you know about the other Archdeities.”

They understood immediately. Their Scarlet Leviathans stirred, feeding all their accumulated knowledge and intelligence into Cain’s own throne. He absorbed it silently, weighing possibilities.

When the stream ceased, he inclined his head.

”Good. I will see you soon. Continue your training and grow stronger. If trouble arises, contact me through the Leviathans.”

The three exchanged a final nod, and Cain rose from the underground chamber into the air. The light caught his face, revealing a solemn expression.

Unless he wished to fall behind, he had no choice but to move quickly. The Scarlet Alliance had to grow in strength before the World War erupted in full. Every moment counted, and he needed to focus all his mind on it.

He had not lied to the brothers. He would indeed search their Paths for the core concepts that could guide them forward—but that task would be handled by the [A.I. Chip Module]. With its current capacity, the module could easily analyze their Paths while simultaneously refining Cain’s own comprehension of the Proto-Laws of Life and Death.

Suspended in the sky, Cain’s eyes glowed with calculation.

”There are twenty-one Archdeities left in the Everstreif Empyrean World after the fall of the Divine Calamity, the World Breaker, and the Lord of the Last Step. Of those, I command two—three, if the Divine Sea can be counted. Azazel holds two. My next step is clear: seek those who can be swayed swiftly, directly. Those opposed to my vision will already be hiding, and chasing them will be a waste of time.”

Names coursed through his mind, one after another, weighed and discarded, until at last one rose above the rest.

”He is the oldest living being in this world. If the rumors are true, I may hold the key to aid him—and in doing so, secure his loyalty.”

Decision crystallized. Cain’s lips curved into a smile as he murmured,

”To reach his dwelling, I must pass through Everlife. Excellent.”

His body blurred, flashing forward with a surge of space-time control. He accelerated again and again, the fabric of reality bending beneath his command, until his speed reached the very edge of what this world could endure. Even so, the journey would take time.

And Cain never wasted time.

As he cut through the firmament, his mind sank into the Scarlet Throne. His attention fixed on the vast spire that had manifested when Legion’s living remains were assimilated—a mountain of skulls twisted into one endless tower. It pulsed with psychic power, so immense it generated more than a quarter of the throne’s total energy output.

Yet there was something more within it.

Cain’s perception pressed deeper, peeling away layers until he touched the spire’s heart. There, nested at its core, was a condensed seed of pure negative psychic energy.

It was a storm of emotion—hatred, despair, envy, grief, rage. But beyond those primal tides, Cain felt subtler strands: exhaustion, loneliness, weariness, the quiet despair that clings to all sentient life. It was the collective residue of suffering, pulled from uncounted minds and buried together.

Enlightenment flickered across Cain’s face.

”So... Legion was never some ancient sovereign lifeform,” he whispered. ”He was born from accumulated darkness. The Coffin of Life and Death purged the negative emotions of the Ancestor of the Ourobors Cult and his kin, but there was a flaw, and that corruption did not fade. Instead, it gained will and body.”

The revelation was pleasing, but Cain quickly filed it away. More pressing was the question of what to do with this condensed darkness.

The possibilities were endless. He could draw it forth and wield it as a devastating weapon, a tide of despair loosed upon his enemies.

But as the thought ripened, another idea took shape in his mind—one colder, sharper.

A slow smile curved across his lips.
