Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 998 - 1002: There’s No Way Someone Snatched It, Right?

Originally, Yunyi was not worried about her admission letter. After all, her scores were there for everyone to see, it’s unlikely someone would intercept it, right?

If someone were to intercept the admission letter of the provincial top science student, they must be out of their mind. Especially since the mailing address is the Beijing Courtyard, she can’t believe anyone would be that hopeless.

So, the question arises, why has her letter been so delayed?

But now, she’s somewhat uncertain. After all, the letters from schools in the south have already arrived, yet hers hasn’t?

Though she hasn’t received her letter, she did get a call from her cousin Ye Wenhui.

When Yunyi followed the gatekeeper to answer the phone, quite a few people in the courtyard pointed at her and whispered behind her back: ”Isn’t she from Deputy Regimental Commander Huo’s family, could it be true what Mrs. Du said, that she’s bad luck?”

”Do you really believe that? Be careful or you’ll regret saying it.”

”I’m not making things up. I went back to my parent’s house yesterday and even my distant nephew has received his admission letter, yet there’s been no news from Deputy Regimental Commander Huo’s family.

Besides, haven’t you heard, everyone who went out with Deputy Regimental Commander Huo has returned, but he hasn’t. Although there’s no news from the troops, we’re not new to the family courtyard, we all have some idea.”

That’s when everyone fell silent.

Everyone knows inside, either Deputy Regimental Commander Huo received another secret mission, or something happened to him; otherwise, why is he the only one who hasn’t returned to the troop?

Yunyi didn’t have to wait long before the phone call came through: ”Sis, it’s me.”

”Sis, why are you calling?”

”We received the admission letter and are prepping to buy the train tickets to the city.

Sis, the city and county leaders came to the mechanical factory a few days ago to give you your rewards for being a provincial top scorer. Director Feng couldn’t reach your husband, so they notified me, which is why I’m calling you today.”

”Jingrui is on a mission, not at the troops.”

”Ah, that explains it. I’ll inform Director Feng later to ease his mind.”

”Okay, please tell Director Feng that Jingrui will contact him when he returns. What day did you buy the train tickets for?”

”We’re not sure yet. Wenyu and Xuewen are in the city to purchase them, Zijia and I just left the mechanical factory and plan to take the Agricultural Reclamation Group’s vehicle back soon.”

”By the way, sis, have you received your admission letter yet?”

”Not yet.”

”What, how come you haven’t received it yet?”

”I’m not quite sure either, but since both the city and county have rewards ready, it shouldn’t be a big issue.”

”True, well, I’ll hang up for now. Once they buy the tickets, I’ll send a telegraph to you.”

After hanging up, Yunyi thought for a bit and decided to call her mother-in-law: ”Mom, it’s me.”

”Yiyi, why are you calling?”

Upon hearing her daughter-in-law’s voice, her heart trembled, afraid she’d inquire about the admission letter.

”Mom, I just received a call from my cousin. The city and county have sent the rewards for my provincial top scorer status to the mechanical factory. Since Jingrui is on a mission these days, Director Feng couldn’t reach him, so they asked my cousin instead.”

Upon hearing this, Jiang Jingya finally felt less anxious: ”Well, that’s good, that’s good. Yiyi, don’t worry, the letter should arrive any day now.”

”I know.”

”Yiyi, since Jingrui is on a mission, do you want to stay at the courtyard for a few days?”

”Mom, I think Jingrui will be back soon. I want to wait for him here.”

”Alright then, but make sure to take good care of yourself. Is the morning sickness severe during this period? Should I have Auntie Zhang come over and take care of you for a while?”
