Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe

Chapter 1776 Shape Earth

The soldiers of Tron immediately began pulling back, instead of meeting the devil army head-on.

Entire formations started withdrawing in an organized manner as though they had no intention of clashing with the devils directly.

The sight caused confusion to spread through the ranks of the devils. The generals of the infernal army, having fought battles almost all their lives, instantly knew that something was wrong with this retreat. This was not the reaction of an army whose morale had collapsed.

No. This retreat was far too orderly for that.

The generals of the devil army hesitated.

Advance?

Or halt?

The sudden retreat of the Allied Forces felt very peculiar. The devil generalsʼ instincts told them something was wrong.

However, by then, the infernal army had already built up momentum. Overwhelming momentum!

Hundreds of thousands of devils and cultists were charging across the battlefield like an unstoppable tide of death and carnage. Massive fiends thundered forward alongside berserk beasts and armored legions, while winged devils dove from the skies overhead.

To suddenly halt such a colossal force in the middle of its charge would be a monumental task, not to mention very, very risky. Signals were rapidly relayed across the battlefield, but the momentum itself had already become a weapon that was too difficult to control.

And so, they charged with full force.

Across the vast battlefield, a breathtaking scene unfolded.

Nearly five hundred thousand Allied soldiers retreated in disciplined formations, their banners fluttering wildly as regiment after regiment pulled back across the plains. The ground trembled beneath the synchronized retreat of countless boots and beasts.

They were all scared. They were all nervous. But they followed orders, nevertheless. For this was the only way for them to come out on top, given the cards they had been dealt.

The infernal army surged forward relentlessly in pursuit, resembling a dark tsunami swallowing the land whole. Devils of every kind charged across the battlefield with murderous momentum, while the skies overhead churned with countless winged monsters.

And then…

The Allied soldiers simultaneously formed hand seals and began weaving the same spell. The mana from hundreds of thousands of soldiers surged together, converging into the greatest magic circle this world had ever witnessed.

Before the battle began, they were already instructed by the commanders of the intention behind the spell, of its true purpose. And so, every single Magus in the army visualized the same thing.

In theory, coordinating a spell on such a colossal scale, especially among so many people who had never fought together, should have been impossible.

But desperation overcame impossibility. Hope overcame doubt. The fierce desire to protect their homeworld united their minds into one.

And thus, a miracle was born.

Against all logic, the spell stabilized.

Coincidentally, the mana in the surrounding also, somehow, seamlessly reacted to the collective intent of the Allied Force, as though the world itself had chosen to lend them its strength.

And then…

The spell materialized in all its glory.

It was a simple spell, yet when infused with the heart, soul, and mana of nearly five hundred thousand soldiers, the result became something truly astonishing.

SHAPE EARTH!!

The spell finally revealed its true purpose.

The Allied Forces had come together to shape the battlefield itself!

The earth trembled violently as massive fissures split open across the plains. Deep ravines tore through the land, swallowing charging devils by the thousands while towering walls of stone erupted upward like the fangs of the world itself.

Entire sections of the grounds suddenly collapsed without warning, throwing the infernal army into chaos. Hills rose, pathways twisted, and the terrain violently shifted beneath countless feet.

In mere moments, the battlefield was transformed beyond recognition.

What had once been a vast open plain had become a colossal maze of earth and stone that stretched across the horizon.

The orderly formations of the devils were instantly shattered as entire divisions became separated from one another by walls, trenches, and collapsing terrain. Their overwhelming momentum, which had been their greatest strength, now turned against them as confusion rapidly spread through the ranks.

Only a small portion of the infernal army had been swallowed by the gargantuan maze. The vast majority of the devils were still outside. However, the problem was that their enemy — the Allied Forces — were all inside the maze.

In order to win the fight, the devils had to confront the Allied soldiers. And to confront the Allied soldiers, they had to enter the maze.

They were the strongest when the battlefield remained orderly.

But in a shocking display of combination magic, the Allied Forces had utterly destroyed the concept of an orderly battlefield.

Synchronization had been the devilʼs greatest weapon. But not anymore.

The commanders of the Allied Forces knew that a traditional battle favored the devils immensely. Otherwise, Volgron would not have brought up the matter of separating the Mana Core Magiʼs battles from the others.

The devils were better drilled, more coordinated, less emotional, and more experienced. And so, the Allied commanders chose to turn the singular vast battlefield into dozens of smaller wars.

And now that the battlefield had been altered, the devil armyʼs command chains had weakened, their support units lost protection, their artillery became vulnerable, and the winged devils lost targeting clarity.

Simple, yet devastating.

Left with no other choice, and knowing full well what was at stake here, the generals of the devil army slowly and cautiously made their way into the giant maze. The winged devils that had once dotted the sky slowly descended into the earthen labyrinth. However, they were no longer as confident and arrogant as before.

The moment they entered, their formations truly began to crumble.

And within the labyrinth, the Allied Forces were waiting. Already divided into countless squadrons before the spell was cast, the soldiers of Tron lay hidden throughout the maze like hunters preparing for an ambush.

Magi stood atop cliffs with spells ready. Elven archers hid behind narrow chokepoints. Heavy infantry hid within winding passages where the enemyʼs numbers would mean little.

And deeper within the darkness prowled the beasts of Mabi…

Massive eyes gleamed between the shadows. Low growls echoed through the labyrinth as predators silently stalked the twisting pathways.

Very soon, the devils would learn exactly why the beasts of Mabi were considered strategically invaluable by the Allied commanders.
