The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System

Chapter 107: 107 - Scorching desert

It didn’t take long for Qingyi’s body to reach terminal velocity, yet the end didn’t even seem to be near.

It was almost ten minutes of falling before he finally saw the light, his eyes shining subtly as he left the stuffy walls behind, a warm breeze sweeping through his long black hair.

What he saw below was like a separate world: an endless desert, punctuated by high mountains of red stone. Above, a ceiling made of golden crystals bathed everything in an eternal, scorching light.

At the last moment before he touched the ground, he activated the lightning steps, the sand being swept under his feet as his body came to a gentle stop.

”Ugh... this place really is hell... how could anything survive here?” he wondered, his eyes scanning the surrounding dunes worriedly.

”Anything sent here has been sent to die. The only way out is a teleportation matrix in the north of the desert, but that can only be used by human hands,” Ruxue replied, still inside the heaven-defying thunder sword.

”I see...” he muttered, looking around for a brief moment before sighing heavily.

This place was huge. How on earth was he going to find anyone here?

No, that wasn’t even the problem.

Even if it was a Gold Core Realm expert, would it really be possible to survive here for twenty years?

Qingyi couldn’t help feeling discouraged, but in the end, he pushed the thought out of his mind.

He had to at least try.

”Was this place created by your former bearer?” he asked as he walked aimlessly, his eyes scanning the vast expanse.

Even if it was a cultivator of the Transcendence Realm, it was hard to believe that someone had the power to create something so huge, regardless of how many thousands of years they had lived.

”No...” Ruxue spoke. Her body soon appeared beside Qingyi, her bare, delicate feet touching the sand for a brief moment before she jumped.

” Fuck, it’s hot!” She let out a suppressed squeal, using her Qi to subtly float above the sand.

Turning her face towards Qingyi, she noticed the smiling expression on his face, as if he had seen a cute kitten.

She blushed, looking away for a brief moment before regaining her composure.

”This place already existed when we got here. It could be the site of some fire dragon’s death or some remnant of-”

Ruxue suddenly stopped talking, her beautiful amethyst eyes fluttered and Qingyi felt a strange emotion coming from his connection with her.

”What happened? Remnants of what?” he asked, one of his hands reaching for the spiritual beauty’s face while the other grasped her hips, watching her expression fall apart.

”It’s okay... just things I shouldn’t talk about. I’ll cultivate a bit...” Ruxue had a complex look on her face as her body returned to the sword.

”Ah...” Qingyi sighed.

’System, do you know anything?’ He asked mentally.

[There are things that should not be spoken of below the celestial heavens. You’re not affected by this because the heavens don’t recognize you, but as an elemental spirit, Ruxue is much more connected to the heavens. The punishment for saying the wrong thing is cruel].

Hearing those words, Qingyi no longer questioned it.

Putting his worries out of his mind, he decided to use a new method to search.

Kneeling on the hot sand, he sank his fingers into it, closing his eyes.

The affinity enhancement pill had increased his lightning affinity by seven points.

It seemed like a small increase, but circulating his lightning Qi, Qingyi had to admit that it was incredible.

His ability to sense and manipulate Qi had increased greatly, and although he wasn’t yet at the level of a breakthrough in cultivation, it was still considerable.

His plan was simple: send small signals of Qi through the desert areas, using them as a radar that would come back to him if it found anything.

It wasn’t the most efficient method and it probably wouldn’t work if the target wasn’t in battle, but Qingyi still preferred to go for it.

To survive in this place for twenty years, hunting spirit beasts almost daily was a requirement. If she were alive, she would have to do it.

It could obviously reveal his position to other beasts in the area, but fortunately, spirit beasts weren’t smart enough to follow that kind of signal.

After a moment’s hesitation, he sent out the first pulse.

The answer came soon after: about two Foundation Realm spirit beasts fighting a few kilometers away.

’That’s not it...’ He sent a second pulse, this time getting no response.

He continued sending pulses every thirty seconds.

His body was already sweating when he finally received a response: two powerful golden core realm beasts battling against a third entity using lightning Qi.

”A human!” Qingyi exclaimed, feeling the way that entity used Qi, very differently from what spirit beasts usually did.

Standing up, he quickly activated the lightning steps, his body exploding with speed and his face filled with anxiety.

It was close, no more than a few kilometers away, but he still needed to run as fast as he could.

It was obvious that the battle was not in the human’s favor.

”Die!” A soft, tired voice entered Qingyi’s ears, and he finally saw it.

She was a middle-aged woman, but one whose beauty was far from even beginning to fade, long black hair framing piercing eyes and plump cherry lips.

Her body was covered in tattered white robes, her large, heavy breasts almost jutting out of the open cleavage while parts of the pale skin of her voluptuous ass and thick thighs were exposed by the rips in the fabric.

She had no sword with her, fighting with her bare hands, her fists landing against the carapace of a seventh-stage golden core realm fire scorpion with a thud.

At the same time, behind her, a second scorpion emerged from the sand, its already poison-dripping tail lashing out towards her delicate back.

She turned her body, dodging the sting but still being hit by the tail.

Her beautiful face contorted into a pained expression as she was thrown towards the burning sands.

Qingyi immediately drew the Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword, his eyes blazing with murderous intent as he advanced.
