Tech Giants: Starting from Bankrupt Companies

265: Chapter 265 King of Weapons. Primordial Era. Mount Tai. Xing TianThe first two batches were already shocking enough, but what truly left the entire audience breathless was the third batch.

Gao Mingxuan signaled the staff to start playing the introductory video, and three true steel behemoths began to appear on screen. Each piece of equipment was two stories tall and weighed over a hundred tons.

Honghuang 7000-ton Super Large Die-casting Machine

The first behemoth was over 30 meters long and 8 meters high, resembling a sleeping steel dinosaur.

”Tesla’s 6000-ton die-casting machine forms the rear underbody of the Model Y in one go, reducing the part count by 70,” Gao Mingxuan said. ”Our ’Honghuang’ is 7000 tons.”

Parameter Comparison:

Tesla IDRA 6000-ton: Locking force 6000 tons, die-casting size 1800 × 1500mm, price 8.5 million USD.

Xingchen Honghuang 7000-ton: Locking force 7000 tons, die-casting size 2200 × 1800mm, price 12 million USD.

”A larger size means we can die-cast larger parts at once,” Gao Mingxuan said, pulling up a video. ”This is the Hongqi Automobile factory in Changchun, where the Honghuang die-casting machine is currently producing a chassis for a new energy vehicle.”

In the video:

The massive mold closed, and molten aluminum alloy (680 ℃) was injected at a speed of 10 meters per second, with the pressure reaching 7000 tons.

After 90 seconds, the mold opened.

A complete car chassis casting was removed—including the front cabin, middle floor, rear underbody, and battery pack mounting points, all formed in one piece.

Traditional processes require over 200 stamped parts, more than 300 weld points, and over 20 procedures.

Now, one die-casting reduces the part count by over 200, reduces weight by 15%, and shortens working hours from 2 hours to 90 seconds.

”And we provide the mold design and process package,” Gao Mingxuan said. ”Tesla’s die-casting machine is just the equipment; the molds and processes need to be developed in-house. We provide a complete ’Equipment + Mold + Process’ solution, so clients can start production as soon as they receive it.”

Offstage, the representative from Tesla could not sit still and left the venue to make a phone call.

Representatives from other car manufacturers had bright eyes: if they could use the Honghuang die-casting machine, production costs could be reduced by over 30%.

Taishan Five-axis Gantry Machining Center

The second behemoth had a gantry span of 8 meters, a processing height of 5 meters, and a total machine weight of 180 tons.

”It specializes in wind power blade molds, ship propellers, and large aerospace structural parts,” Gao Mingxuan said. ”The product of the same specifications from Germany’s Waldrich Coburg is priced at 9.5 million USD with a delivery period of 24 months. Our ’Taishan’—is priced at 7.2 million USD with a delivery period of 12 months.”

The video demonstrated the machining of a wind power blade mold with a diameter of 6 meters.

This was true giant-object machining: the workpiece itself weighed as much as 30 tons and required special tooling fixtures.

The gantry moved, the five axes linked, and the cutting tool diameter reached 200 millimeters—this was not finishing; it was rough machining.

But even so, the precision was still astonishing.

The video fast-forwarded, showing the entire machining process: from blank to finished product, traditional methods required 15 days, while the Taishan machine tool completed it in 72 hours.

After machining was completed, a laser tracker inspected the mold surface:

Surface error: 0.02 mm (wind power mold requirement is 0.05 mm)

Position accuracy: 0.015 mm

Surface roughness: Ra 1.6 μm (can be used directly for glass fiber reinforced plastic blade molding)

”Denmark’s Vestas, the world’s largest wind power company, has already ordered 5 units,” Gao Mingxuan said. ”After testing, they evaluated it as: processing efficiency is 25% higher than German equipment, energy consumption is 30% lower, and the precision fully meets the requirements for the next generation of 100-meter-long blades.”

Offstage, the representative from Vestas nodded in confirmation.

This was a fatal blow to German machine tools—wind power is a strength of Germany’s industry, and now even the core equipment was being replaced by China.

Xingtian Super-heavy Duty Turning-Milling Compound Machine Tool

The third behemoth was a true ”national treasure”.

Maximum machining diameter: 12 meters.

Maximum load capacity: 300 tons.

Total machine weight: 450 tons.

This equipment was too large and could only be displayed via video.

”Xingtian, specializing in nuclear power rotors, hydropower spindles, and large ship propellers,” Gao Mingxuan said in a solemn voice. ”Only three companies in the world can make equipment of this level: Germany’s Waldrich Coburg, Italy’s Pama, and Japan’s Toshiba Machine.”

He pulled up a comparison:

Waldrich Coburg: Machining diameter 10 meters, load capacity 250 tons, price 25 million USD, delivery period 36 months.

Xingtian: Machining diameter 12 meters, load capacity 300 tons, price 20 million USD, delivery period 18 months.

The video played, with the location being the Deyang factory of China Dongfang Electric Group.

A million-kilowatt nuclear power low-pressure rotor with a diameter of 8.5 meters and weighing 180 tons was clamped onto the Xingtian machine tool.

Machining began:

Turning the outer circle, milling grooves and holes, boring inner holes...

Each strip of iron filings cut off was as thick as an arm.

Coolant washed over like a waterfall.

After machining was completed, the inspection data:

Roundness error: 0.005 mm

Cylindricity error: 0.008 mm

Coaxiality error: 0.006 mm

Surface roughness: Ra 0.8 μm

”This precision can ensure that the nuclear power rotor can operate stably for 60 years at a high speed of 1500 revolutions per minute,” Gao Mingxuan said.

He gave the most critical information: ”We have already delivered 3 of these machine tools. User feedback: processing efficiency is 25% higher than imported equipment, energy consumption is 30% lower, and...”

He paused: ”Maintenance costs are only one-third of imported equipment.”

”Because our service engineers are domestic and can arrive at the site at any time. Whereas for German engineers, a single visit costs 100,000 USD in travel expenses alone, and you have to wait in line for three months.”

This was the advantage of localization—not just technology, but also service.

Offstage, the bosses of those heavy industry companies began to whisper to each other.

Liang Wengen, Chairman of Sany Heavy Industry, said directly to his assistant: ”Contact Xingchen, we want to order one Xingtian. For wind power spindle processing.”

Representatives from Zoomlion and XCMG Group were also recording quickly.

A large number of representatives from state-owned heavy industries instructed their assistants to contact the sales department of Xingchen Heavy Industry to place orders.

The display of heavy equipment was finished, and next was the duel in the precision field.

Slow-feeding Wire EDM Machine Tool

The equipment was not large, but the precision was astonishing.

”Slow-feeding wire, specializing in precision holes, irregular grooves, and micro-structures for molds,” Gao Mingxuan said. ”Japan’s Sodick AQ series has a machining precision of 0.002 mm, surface roughness Ra 0.2 μm, and is priced at 450,000 USD. Our ’Xingshi’ series—”

Parameters popped up:

Machining precision: 0.001 mm

Surface roughness: Ra 0.1 μm

Price: 360,000 USD

A live demonstration showed the machining of a precision sandblasting texture for a mobile phone mold.

A molybdenum wire with a diameter of 0.1 millimeters discharged electricity in deionized water, etching micron-level textures onto the mold steel.

After machining was completed, an electron microscope magnified it 1000 times to show: the texture was uniform, the depth was consistent, and the edges were clear.

”This kind of texture can give the mobile phone casing a delicate frosted feel without attracting fingerprints,” Gao Mingxuan said. ”Previously, only Japan’s Sodick could do this, but now we can do it, and it’s cheaper.”

Laser Texture Machining Machine

The last piece of equipment was more like a work of art.

”Engraving micron-level textures on metal surfaces, used for high-end mobile phone casings, luxury watches, and jewelry,” Gao Mingxuan said. ”Switzerland’s AgieCharmilles’ laser texturing machine is priced at 800,000 USD. Our ’Xinghen’—650,000 USD.”

The demonstration began.

A stainless steel plate was placed on the workbench, and the laser head began to move.

The laser was not cutting but micro-melting—melting tiny pits on the metal surface to form a texture.

The finished stainless steel plate reflected a rainbow-like luster under the light—this was the optical diffraction effect produced by the microstructure.

”This kind of texture can give metal a ceramic texture or a silky luster,” Gao Mingxuan said. ”Apple’s iPhone stainless steel middle frame and Rolex watch cases all use this process.”

He looked offstage: ”We have already reached cooperation agreements with Huawei and Xiaomi. The stainless steel middle frames of their next-generation flagship phones will be processed using our equipment.”
