Tech Giants: Starting from Bankrupt Companies

211: Chapter 211 Hidden Dragon in the AbyssSu Chen switched to the second hard drive.

”night owl” Super Intelligent Attack Aircraft

Design Goal: A long-endurance, stealthy, autonomous unmanned attack platform.

Core Parameters:

Wingspan: 8 meters, full composite material, radar cross-section of 0.001 square meters (equivalent to a bird).

Power: Hydrogen fuel cell + turbofan engine, 72-hour endurance, 10,000 km range.

Takeoff Weight: 3 tons (1.2 tons empty, 2 tons payload, 0.8 tons fuel).

Weapons: Internal weapons bay, capable of carrying 8 small precision-guided bombs, 2 anti-ship missiles, or a swarm of 50 drones.

Disruptive Design:

Vertical Takeoff: Uses rocket-assisted takeoff, no runway required. Can be launched from heavy trucks, warship decks, or even mountain platforms.

AI Autonomous Combat: Built-in ”Cangqiong” AI system, capable of autonomous route planning, target identification, threat assessment, and collaborative combat. Pilots at ground control centers only provide supervision and final authorization.

Swarm Mothership: Can carry 50 small attack drones, released in the target area to execute saturation attacks.

Video Demonstration: Simulating an attack on a carrier strike group.

A ”night owl” is launched from the coast, penetrates 1,000 km using stealth, and releases 50 swarm drones outside the carrier’s defense perimeter.

The drone swarm attacks simultaneously from multiple directions and altitudes, saturating the air defense system.

Final Simulation Result: The carrier deck was hit 6 times, losing its takeoff and landing capabilities.

Behind Chen Feng, Old Zhao, a 55-year-old aeronautical engineer and former director of the Aircraft Institute of the Air Force Equipment Research Academy, suddenly stood up.

”This... this is the concept of a sixth-generation fighter!” Old Zhao’s voice changed with excitement. ”America is still working on manned sixth-gen aircraft, and we’ve already made an unmanned intelligent attack aircraft?”

”Yes,” Su Chen nodded. ”And the cost is only one-tenth of a manned fighter. The estimated cost of a single ’night owl’ is 50 million rmb, while an F-35 costs about 500 million rmb.”

”A ten-to-one price ratio...” Chen Feng murmured. ”This means we can overwhelm quality with quantity.”

Third hard drive.

”war mastiff” Armed Robotic Dog

Design Goal: An all-terrain, swarm-capable unmanned ground platform.

Core Parameters:

Dimensions: 1.5m long, 0.9m high, 120kg weight.

Mobility: Quadrupedal walking, max speed 40 km/h, climbs 45° slopes, wades 1.5m, jumps 2m.

Load: 200kg (including weapons, ammunition, sensors).

Endurance: 8 hours on battery, replaceable modules.

Weapons: Modular weapon station, can be equipped with a 12.7mm machine gun (500 rounds), 40mm grenade launcher, or anti-tank missiles (2).

Swarm Intelligence:

Autonomous Formation: 100 robotic dogs can automatically form attack formations (wedge, circle, skirmish line) via tactical AI.

Collaborative Attack: Can perform tactical maneuvers such as encirclement, outflanking, assault, and ambush.

Damage Control: If an individual is damaged, the mission is automatically transferred to others; the overall swarm’s combat capability is unaffected.

Video Demonstration: Simulating urban street combat.

100 ”war mastiff” robotic dogs attacking a company-level defensive position.

The robotic dogs swarm in from multiple streets simultaneously, using terrain for cover and approaching rapidly.

Some rappelled from rooftops, some emerged from sewers, and others launched a frontal assault.

The defensive position was quickly breached.

Throughout the demonstration, there was no human command; everything was completed autonomously by the robotic dogs.

Everyone in the meeting room stood up.

Chen Feng stared at the screen, speechless for a long time.

He was a veteran who had experienced real war. He knew what this meant: on the future battlefield, soldiers might no longer need to charge.

”President Su,” he finally spoke, ”these technologies... are at least five years ahead of the current world’s public level.”

”More than that,” Su Chen said. ”Some are ten years ahead. But what we want to do isn’t show off technology; it’s to change the rules.”

He walked to the whiteboard and began to draw.

America’s Advantages:

Global military bases (over 800)

Carrier strike groups (11)

Alliance system (NATO, Japan, South Korea, etc.)

Numerical advantage in traditional equipment

Xingchen’s Advantages:

Technological generational gap (hypersonic, AI, swarm intelligence)

Cost advantage (The ”night owl” costs only one-tenth of an F-35)

No historical baggage (can leapfrog generations directly)

Asymmetric tactics (attacking pain points, not full-scale)

”We don’t fight full-scale wars; we fight pain-point wars.” Su Chen circled several points with a red pen:

Persia, Syria: Sell the ”Golden Crow-1” air defense system, making American fighters hesitate to enter their airspace. An F-35 is worth 100 million dollars; losing even one is a major loss.

Venezuela, Cuba: Sell ”night owl” intelligent attack aircraft for drone guerrilla warfare in jungles and mountains. No matter how strong America’s carriers are, they can’t defend against ubiquitous drones.

African conflict zones: Sell ”war mastiff” robotic dogs, using cheap intelligent equipment to wear down the opponent’s heavy equipment. A tank costs millions of dollars; a robotic dog costs 500,000 rmb.

”We won’t sell these weapons directly to nations,” Su Chen said. ”Export them through offshore companies and proxy channels under the guise of ’civilian security equipment’ or ’anti-terrorism gear.’ Legally, we’re just selling ’specialized robots’ and ’unmanned aerial systems’.”

Chen Feng worried, ”But this will trigger a strong backlash from America. They’ll say we’re undermining regional stability and proliferating advanced weapons.”

Su Chen sneered, ”They’ve already sanctioned us to death; why fear a backlash? This is our self-defense counterattack—using their rules: technological superiority is strategic superiority.”

He paused. ”Moreover, we’re not selling weapons of mass destruction; we’re selling defensive and anti-terrorism equipment. If America sells F-35s to Bay Island, what’s wrong with us selling air defense systems to Persia?”

In the meeting room, the engineers exchanged looks.

They understood: this wasn’t just a defense project; it was part of a geopolitical game.

”President Su, I understand.” Chen Feng stood up, his eyes determined. ”We’ll take these three projects. How much time and funding is needed?”

Su Chen pulled up the schedule:

Hypersonic Weapons Research Institute

Investment: 12 billion rmb

Goal: Mass produce ”Golden Crow-1” within 1 year; develop ”Golden Crow-2” (Mach 20) within 3 years.

Intelligent Aircraft Research Institute

Investment: 10 billion rmb

Goal: Mass produce ”night owl” within 1 year; develop ”night owl-2” (stealth penetration type) within 3 years.

Unmanned Ground Equipment Research Institute

Investment: 8 billion rmb

Goal: Mass produce ”war mastiff” within 1 year; develop ”war mastiff-2” (amphibious type) within 3 years.

”Totaling 30 billion,” Su Chen said. ”The money will be drawn from the 160 billion in the Xingchen system. Aerospace projects must develop, but defense takes priority.”

Chen Feng’s eyes reddened.

He thought of his father, a veteran who participated in the ’Two Bombs, One Satellite’ project, who said on his deathbed: ”Feng’er, when will our weapons catch up to America’s?”

At that time, he couldn’t answer.

Now, he had the chance to answer.

”President Su,” Chen Feng gripped Su Chen’s hand, his voice choking, ”these weapons... can change the rules of war. I’m in! This old man can still fight for another ten years!”

The other engineers also stood up: ”Us too!”

”Good,” Su Chen nodded. ”Then let’s begin. Time is tight.”}],
