Tech Giants: Starting from Bankrupt Companies

125: Chapter 125 News Before DawnThe meeting lasted until three in the morning, and the plan was basically finalized.

In front of everyone, coffee cups and sheets of drafted paper were piled up.

Just as they were preparing to adjourn, Lin Wan’s encrypted phone vibrated.

She took a glance, her expression changed slightly, and she handed the phone to Su Chen.

The first message was from ”Candle Dragon”: ”The highest level has convened an emergency meeting. Principle: Use all necessary means to support Spark’s survival. Specific measures: The central bank will provide 500 billion rmb in special refinancing loans at an interest rate of 1.5%; state-owned enterprises will prioritize the purchase of Spark products; customs will open a green channel for Spark to import critical equipment; security departments will strengthen the protection of Spark’s core personnel. Official documents will be issued tomorrow.”

The second message came from the Saudi Crown Prince’s office: ”Saudi Arabia will not cooperate with US sanctions. Our cooperation continues, and we can provide an alternative settlement plan to the US dollar (rmb + oil peg). Additionally: The 1,000 car model units already purchased will be paid for in rmb.”

The third message was from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade: ”We welcome Spark to transfer its production capacity to Russia. We offer: ten years of tax exemptions, free land, energy at cost price, and market access. Initial requirements: 500 high-end machine tools and 2,000 units of Hongqi Automobile.”

Su Chen placed the phone on the table, took a deep breath, and relayed the news to everyone.

The conference room was silent for a few seconds, then Zhou Qingyu slammed his fist on the table: ”Damn it... it was worth it!”

This person, who had always been steady in the automotive industry, cursed for the first time.

Li Weimin’s old eyes streamed with tears: ”The country hasn’t abandoned us... hasn’t abandoned us...”

Wu Yi leaned back heavily into his chair, closed his eyes, and his shoulders trembled slightly.

Su Chen waited for the emotions to settle, then slowly stood up: ”Everyone, do you see? We are not fighting alone. Behind us are the country, friends, and hundreds of millions of compatriots.”

He walked to the window and pulled open the heavy blackout curtains.

Outside the window, the night sky over Shenzhen began to fade.

On the eastern horizon, the ink black gradually turned into deep blue, then into a fish-belly white.

The outline of the city became clearer in the morning light.

”It’s almost dawn,” Su Chen said softly, then turned around, ”but our battle has just begun.”

He walked back to the conference table, resting his hands on the surface: ”Now, I will assign tasks.”

”Zhou Qingyu, Red Flag price reductions and domestic product replacements will start tomorrow.”

”Wu Yi, the materials team will start tackling the challenges today.”

”Old Li, Zhang Wei, the chip team will work in three shifts, starting now.”

”Academician Dupont, the lithography machine team will be formed today.”

”Gao Mingxuan, come up with a plan for the Belt and Road market this week.”

”Chen Peng, the buyback plan will start as soon as the market opens tomorrow.”

”Lin Wan, coordinate all departments and report progress to me daily.”

”Shen Nanpeng, ensure the funding, there cannot be a single cent of error.”

”Liang Zhen, handle legal and compliance, providing full protection throughout.”

He finished speaking in one breath, then looked around the room: ”180 days. Either we create history, or we become history. I want you to choose the first one.”

No one spoke, but everyone’s eyes were burning.

”Meeting adjourned,” Su Chen said. ”Take two hours to rest. At seven o’clock, I want to see everyone back at their posts.”

People left one after another.

Finally, only Su Chen and Li Weimin remained.

”Old Li, you are getting on in years, go back and rest,” Su Chen said.

Li Weimin shook his head, his smile carrying a sense of indifference that had seen through life and death: ”I’m seventy-two, I’ve lived enough. Every extra day I live now is a bonus. I want to see the 14-nanometer chip made, and see Huaxia chips stand up.”

He paused: ”Su Chen, do you know what I am most proud of?”

”What?”

”Not the chip, not the technology,” the old man looked at the brightening sky outside the window. ”It’s bringing up this group of young people. Zhang Wei, Lin Haoran, those engineers in their twenties... They are only thirty, yet they are already carrying the hope of a country. When our generation is gone, they will be able to take over.”

Su Chen’s eyes grew hot: ”They will take over. And they will do even better.”

Li Weimin patted his shoulder and left with a faltering gait.

Su Chen stood alone by the window.

The morning light finally pierced through the clouds, and golden sunlight spilled onto the surface of Shencheng Bay, shimmering.

A new day had begun.

This was the first day of the blockade, and also the first day of the counterattack.

The phone vibrated; it was a message from his father: ”Son, I saw the news. Dad doesn’t understand those things, but Dad knows: You are right. No matter what decision you make, your mother and I support you.”

Su Chen replied: ”Dad, Spark will not fall. As long as I am here, Spark will be here.”

He put down the phone and watched the waking city.

Traffic on the streets was thickening, crowds of commuters poured out of the subway stations, and breakfast stalls emitted steam.

Ordinary people’s lives continued; they didn’t know what had happened overnight, nor did they know what a company called Spark was going through.

But Su Chen knew that the meaning of his battle was to ensure that these ordinary lives would not be changed, and that the future of this country would not be stifled.

Sunlight fully illuminated the room.

Su Chen turned around and walked back to his desk.

On the desk, on the cover of the ”June Survival Plan”, he picked up a pen and wrote four words: Living towards death.

Then he opened the first page and began to work.

Outside the window, the morning in Shenzhen was bustling with traffic and full of vitality.

And in the center of this city, a group of people, a company, and a country’s counterattack had officially begun.
