I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 96: Chapter 096: “I’m Not Even As Pretentious As You.”

Lin Yi left the office and went to his poor little Shari.

At that moment, Bi Songjiang called.

When he went to the Wangjiang Dock for a meeting, he had told them to upgrade everything.

They probably had some updates now.

“President Lin, do you have time now?”

!!
“What’s the matter? Just say it.”

“It’s like this. We sent out the bidding proposal the day after your meeting. There are two companies preparing to bid, and they will come with the proposal today. It’s such a big matter that it needs President Lin to decide on the final contractor,” Bi Songjiang.

“If President Lin doesn’t have time, I can inform them to come another day.”

“No need, I have time now.”

“I’ll wait for you at the office.”

“Okay.”

After hanging up, Lin Yi was not in a hurry to call Tianlong.

It would not be too late to inform him after he was done with the Wangjiang Dock matter.

After making up his mind, Lin Yi drove his Shari to Wangjiang Dock.

Looking at the entire dock from afar, Lin Yi’s lips curled into a smile.

The first step of expanding his territory was about to start here.

He walked around the parking lot and found a parking spot. Before Lin Yi could reverse his car, someone said,

“Be careful, don’t touch my car!”

“Are you talking to me?”

Lin Yi poked his head out and saw a woman in a black dress standing on his left. Her long black hair was curled into waves, her face was covered in makeup, and she had a pair of high heels on. She looked very worldly.

“Is there anyone else here besides you?”

Lin Yi looked around and saw an Audi A8 parked behind the woman. It was several grades better than his Shari.

“Don’t worry, I won’t touch your car,” Lin Yi said casually.

“I’m just afraid that you’ll touch it.” The woman held the document bag and said, “My car is worth more than a million. If you touch it, you won’t be able to afford to pay for it even if you sell yourself.”

Lin Yi laughed. Driving an Audi A8 and feeling superior?

“Isn’t it just an A8? I wasn’t as pretentious as you when I drove a Lykan.”

“Isn’t it just an A8? Lykan?” The woman laughed. “What, did I drive a million-dollar car and hurt your dignity? I think you’re only dreaming of driving a Lykan, you idiot!”

After she spoke, the woman in the black dress left in her high heels. Lin Yi didn’t know what to say. Were all people this confrontational nowadays?

Should he be a little more high-profile?

After parking the car, Lin Yi walked towards the office building at the dock.

At this time, there were more than twenty people sitting on both sides of the long table in the conference room. The atmosphere was heavy and tense.

“Director Guan, if I remember correctly, this is the third time we’ve bumped into each other because of the same project.”

The man who spoke was wearing a suit and a pair of rimless glasses. His smile was indifferent and full of confidence.

The man’s name was Ren Yongjun. He was the general manager of Zhonghai Ryder Design Co. Ltd. It was ranked the number one design company in all of China.

Sitting opposite Ren Yongjun was a woman in red. She was about 30 years old and had a beautiful round face. She looked somewhat cute.

The woman’s name was Guan Ya. She was the general manager and chief designer of Zhonghai Yaluo Design.

She was the other bidder for this project.

“Then it can only be said that the road between enemies is narrow,” Guan Ya said calmly with a hint of wariness in her eyes.

When it came to the national ranking of design companies, her company was at a disadvantage. Therefore, her chances of winning this bid depended entirely on luck.

“We’re old friends after all. Your resentment is too great.” Ren Yongjun smiled and said, “Didn’t I just snatch two of your bids? Now, when you run into me it’s like meeting an enemy.”

“Victory and defeat are common occurrences in war. Although we lost the previous two times, this time, we are fully prepared. Don’t be too confident.”

“I know that your Yaluo specializes in outdoor landscape design, and we specialize in indoor design. But this time, we have filled in our shortcomings of the outdoor design, so your advantage is completely gone.”

“I can’t agree with President Ren’s words,” Guan Ya said faintly.

“More than 60% of the outstanding outdoor designers in the country are all in our company. I’m afraid that your so-called solution still puts you some distance away from us.”

Ren Yongjun shook his finger and smiled.

“Naturally, there aren’t many talents to choose from domestically, but what about abroad? President Guan, don’t forget about this.”

“What do you mean?”

“To tell you the truth, we have spent a lot of money to invite Mr. Larry Keller to become our Chief Design Consultant.” Ren Yongjun said, “President Guan, as an outstanding person in the design world, you should know who Mr. Larry Keller is, right?”

“You actually invited Larry Keller!”

Upon hearing this news, Guan Ya could not sit still.

Forget her, even a newbie in the industry knew Larry Keller’s name!

The famous Palm Island in Dubai was personally designed by him!

If Ren Yongjun really invited him to be a design consultant, her advantage would be completely gone!

“That’s right. Don’t doubt my words. I never play games.”

The design team beside Guan Ya had an unnatural expression on their faces.

They did not have an advantage in terms of reputation, to begin with. If Larry Keller was in charge of the other side, it would be even harder to win this project.

At this moment, the sound of high heels could be heard before a woman wearing a black wrap dress walked in.

“Qianqian, why are you so late? The meeting is going to start soon,”Ren Yongjun said.

“I met a vagrant in the parking lot just now. I was afraid that he might bump into my car, so I watched him for a while.”

The woman’s name was Xu Qianqian. She was Ren Yongjun’s senior assistant and also a well-known designer in the industry.

She used to go to Tsinghua University with Guan Ya. However, due to her talent, she became famous even though her development was not as rapid as Guan Ya’s.

“Forget it for now. Remember to be early next time. It’s such an important occasion. If we’re late, people will think that we’re not professional.”

“Got it, President Ren.”

As she said this, Xu Qianqian looked at Guan Ya. “Yo, President Guan hasn’t left yet? Do you still intend to stick around?”

“Don’t think that just because you got Larry Keller that you have a guaranteed victory. How can a foreigner have a better understanding of China’s market and the preferences of our people? We still have the advantage.”

“You’re still the same as before. You won’t shed tears until you see the coffin. What’s the point of all this struggling?” Xu Qianqian said with a smile.

“If I were you, I would have left a long time ago. I wouldn’t want to lose face later.”

“If you have the time, you should think about your own bidding proposal. Why are you talking so much?”

Xu Qianqian shrugged. “Then we’ll see. We really haven’t lost to Yaluo before.”

At that moment, footsteps came from the corridor, and the door to the meeting room was pushed open. Bi Songjiang walked in alongside Lin Yi.

“Director Lin, this way please.”
