Immortality Through Array Formations

Chapter 2713: Chapter 91: Disaster Avoidance

Under the guidance of the Shaman, Mo Hua, Dan Zhu and Chi Feng, leading their barbarian soldiers, began attacking another Shugu subdivision.

In the initial clash, Dan Zhu held the upper hand.

Clad in a Mystic Fire Feather Robe, glowing red like a heavenly soldier, he charged back and forth through the Shugu subdivision’s camp, slaying many Shugu barbarian cultivators, and for a time, nothing could withstand him.

The Barbarian General Chi Feng merely held the line, not aggressively engaging in battle.

He was well aware that his purpose on this expedition was not to charge and kill but to stay on the sidelines and ensure the Young Master Dan Zhu’s safety.

On the battlefield, swords and axes are blind, water and fire are merciless, and no one knows where the threat to life will come from.

Thus, Chi Feng was incredibly focused, his gaze piercing.

Chi Feng held the line while Dan Zhu rampaged.

They fought for several hundred rounds; although they killed many enemies, they still failed to take down this Shugu subdivision.

From a distance, Mo Hua observed and saw that within the Shugu subdivision, there were nearly a thousand barbarian soldiers.

Among the throng of barbarian soldiers, there were six Golden Core cultivators. Although all were at the early stage, their cultivation was profound, and their auras were stranger than the last, with similar odd bone makeup painted on their faces.

Among these six were three barbarian body cultivators and three witch cultivators.

The body cultivators charged forward, while the witch cultivators cast spells from behind, their auras interconnected. Although momentarily at a disadvantage, their faces bore cruel smiles and a bit of evil nature.

Mo Hua’s eyes narrowed slightly.

He could see a faint trace of the Evil God’s aura flowing around the six Shugu Golden Core cultivators.

This indicated that this Shugu subdivision had already begun to ”fall,” and their Barbarian God was starting to become ”evil.”

Moreover, this Evil God’s aura was also empowering the believers.

These Golden Core cultivators were clearly strengthened somewhat by the evil qi.

At this moment, as they faced Dan Zhu, although at a disadvantage, they weren’t in a hurry, clearly not intending to reveal their trump cards in this first encounter.

They were observing Dan Zhu, looking for weaknesses.

After several hundred more rounds of fighting, Mo Hua ordered a retreat.

This Shugu subdivision’s strength was slightly greater than Mo Hua had anticipated, so success could not be rushed.

The Danque Tribe set up camp thirty miles away.

Mo Hua asked Iron Skill Bone if he recognized those six Golden Core cultivators.

If they were ordinary Golden Core cultivators, they wouldn’t be noteworthy. But those six, with interconnected auras and clearly having practiced some peculiar secret technique, must not be ordinary.

Iron Skill Bone’s expression was grave, even somewhat incredulous:

”Those six seem to be the ’Six Strange Shugu’...”

”Six Strange Shugu?”

Iron Skill Bone nodded, ”These six are six brothers, connected by bloodline, practicing the same secret technique. They are somewhat famous in the Shugu tribe, and generally, no one dares to provoke them. But this place is not their tribal camp, and it’s unclear why they are here...”

Mo Hua frowned slightly.

Are there internal conflicts in the Shugu tribe?

Are they starting to devour and divide among themselves?

This does indeed pose a problem.

Internal conflicts in the Shugu tribe mean their power dynamics are shifting; the power standards between subdivisions and main groups can’t be relied upon.

And even if he wants to divine, he needs to know the timing, location, and the ”people’s” causal situation.

With the situation in chaos, Mo Hua finds it difficult to assess the true strength of the various tribes.

Thinking of this, Mo Hua suddenly felt puzzled and asked Iron Skill Bone:

”Does your Shugu tribe really have a unified Great Chief?”

Iron Skill Bone replied, ”Of course, there is.”

Mo Hua asked, ”You all follow the Great Chief’s orders?”

Iron Skill Bone nodded, ”Of course.”

Mo Hua looked at him with a calm expression.

Iron Skill Bone had no choice but to speak some ”disrespectful” truths:

”Before the Great Chief, we follow his words. When he’s not present, and we can’t hear him, naturally, we don’t have to obey.”

Mo Hua’s expression was complex. ”What if he sends orders through a messenger?”

Iron Skill Bone responded, ”The messenger is not the Great Chief, so their words aren’t the Great Chief’s words. If they’re not from the Great Chief, we don’t have to listen...”

For a moment, Mo Hua thought that Iron Skill Bone was indeed a ”genius.”

Full of fallacious reasoning, yet what he said made quite a bit of sense.

Quite similar to himself...

However, it also highlights the fact that the Shugu tribe is indeed very loosely organized internally.

The Great Chief’s power isn’t widespread, nor is it centralized.

Iron Skill Bone, being from a Wandering Tribe, dares to only heed ”direct orders” and not ”transmitted orders.”

Even at this point, the Shugu tribe can still maintain an apparent ”unity” without falling apart. Mo Hua was somewhat amazed.

Mo Hua couldn’t help but ask Iron Skill Bone, ”Haven’t you ever thought of directly splitting, each claiming a side, and not listening to the Great Chief’s orders?”

Iron Skill Bone hurriedly replied, ”I wouldn’t dare.”

Mo Hua queried, ”Is it out of fear or lack of desire?”

Iron Skill Bone replied respectfully, ”Both out of fear and a lack of desire.”

Seeing Mo Hua’s surprised expression, Iron Skill Bone added sincerely:

”Violating the tribe’s laws and betraying the Great Chief would result in ’Divine Punishment’ from the Barbarian God.”

”Within the Shugu tribe, you may kill, rob, and seize territory from each other.”

”But the Great Chief is unique because he is the leader chosen by the Barbarian God, and the Barbarian God’s decisions are unquestionable.”

Mo Hua’s expression remained unchanged as he pondered.

It seems that although both the Shugu tribe and the Danque tribe are Third Grade, their tribes’ power structures and systems differ greatly.

The Danque tribe does not worship the Barbarian God, but the Divine Beast Totem.

The core of the Danque tribe is also power, and their faith is more about loyalty to the Great Wilderness Royal Court.
