Chapter 2705: Chapter 88: Famine Disaster

The aura of causality here is invisible to ordinary people.

What they see is merely the bleak desolation of withered grass and trees, and the forlorn semblance of creatures dying of hunger.

Mo Hua, however, sees it very clearly.

And this famine disaster is completely different from what he anticipated before.

This doesn’t seem like a ”natural” disaster at all; rather, it’s like an invisible disaster with ”life,” a miasma-like monster spreading in the Great Wilderness, devouring the earth’s vitality, causing creatures on the land to wither in flesh, starve, and die.

And this monster akin to a ”great famine disaster” is crawling slowly yet visibly toward Mo Hua, bringing decay, decline, hunger, and despair, coming closer and closer.

Mo Hua’s face changed instantly, saying:

”Let’s go! Return to the Stone Palace.”

Dan Zhu couldn’t see what Mo Hua saw, but he knew this matter was no small issue, so he nodded.

The group returned to the Stone Palace, keeping the gates tightly shut.

Mo Hua’s brow was also furrowed tightly.

Dan Zhu’s expression was grave, and he asked: ”Mr. Witch, such an incredible anomaly... does the Lord of the Temple have any revelation?”

Mo Hua intended to lie and say ”of course.” The Divine Lord is omniscient and omnipotent, naturally knowing everything.

But when the words reached his lips, Mo Hua held back.

The Divine Lord is omniscient and omnipotent, but he, as a shaman, is not; facing such unexpected, bizarre circumstances, he cannot fabricate rashly to avoid being exposed.

Mo Hua solemnly said:

”The Divine Lord only foretold that there would be a great disaster in the Barbaric Wilderness. But what kind of disaster, the Divine Lord did not explicitly state. It seems this disaster must involve some significant causality, and the heavenly secret should not be revealed lightly.”

Mo Hua sighed again, ”Also, recently, during the battle with the Bi Fang Tribe, I repeatedly performed spells to consult the divine messages, already overextending my divine power, and I’m somewhat unclear about this disaster...”

Hearing this, Dan Zhu felt both grateful and distressed for Mo Hua.

Mr. Witch was protecting him and the lives of the Danque Tribe’s barbarian soldiers, which is why he repeatedly expended divine power to divine the enemy’s situation.

”Gentleman, take care of your health,” Dan Zhu said with concern, bowing.

Mo Hua nodded slightly, looking a bit ”weak.”

Dan Zhu pondered for a moment, still worried in his heart, ”Gentleman, with the famine descending, what should be our next step?”

This situation was completely unexpected.

Mo Hua also had no clear solution immediately.

At that moment, the sound of battle cries arose outside the Stone Palace again.

Mo Hua frowned, and along with Dan Zhu, went outside the palace to observe, seeing figures bustling in the distant mountains and forests, with shiny weapons exposed; the Bi Fang Tribe had attacked again.

This form of provocation had become routine.

Dan Zhu was about to go out and confront them.

But Mo Hua quickly stopped him.

Dan Zhu was puzzled.

Mo Hua contemplated for a moment, and his face slightly changed, saying: ”Don’t go, have Chi Feng and them, all retreat back.”

”No one is allowed to engage the battle.”

Dan Zhu nodded solemnly.

The order was passed down, and all members of the Danque Tribe retreated within the Stone Palace.

This was not a good decision.

With enemies at the gates, surrendering the entire periphery of the valley to the Bi Fang Tribe, resulting in the Stone Palace being besieged, would only lead to a predicament.

Yet no one in the Danque Tribe questioned the decision.

Chi Feng also did not voice opposition.

After these days, Mo Hua’s divine calculations seemed miraculous, his commands now equivalent to the Divine Lord’s ”divine instructions.”

As the Danque Tribe retreated, the shouting Bi Fang Tribe was somewhat astonished.

Bi Jie also furrowed his brow, not knowing the intention behind Mo Hua’s ”foolish” action.

But the opportunity was at hand, so he immediately ordered the Bi Fang Tribe to attack.

The crowd surged forward, attacking the Danque Tribe.

But halfway up the hill, a sudden wave of an invisible red-yellow aura appeared, causing grass and trees to shrivel in large patches.

The Bi Fang Tribe and the accompanying barbarian cultivators were startled, but being drenched in this red-yellow aura, they felt no abnormality, nor detected any toxicity; it felt even less than miasma.

They paid no mind and continued their advance, attacking the Stone Palace where the Danque Tribe was located.

The young master of the Bi Fang Tribe had promised that once the Stone Palace was captured, killing Dan Zhu would earn them excellent barbarian armor and numerous barbarian slaves, along with a fertile piece of land from the Bi Fang Tribe’s territory as a gift.

The young master of the Bi Fang Tribe had sworn to the Barbarian God.

This agreement could not be false.

Therefore, the group of barbarian cultivators risked their lives charging at Dan Zhu and others, hoping to take the lead and claim the merit.

Mo Hua had instructed not to counter-attack, focusing solely on defense.

The battle continued this way for a while, with chaos reigning on the battlefield.

Bi Jie, along with four or five external barbarian tribes’ Golden Core cultivators, surrounded Dan Zhu and Chi Feng.

The rest of the Danque Tribe’s barbarian soldiers were also being suppressed.

The Stone Palace’s defenses were precarious.

Mo Hua paid it no mind, only observing everything with a profound gaze.

Bi Jie and the others had become Mo Hua’s ”test subjects.”

In battle, they continually absorbed these red-yellow auras representing ”famine.”

Mo Hua observed the changes in their bodies, wanting to know what changes would occur after these red-yellow auras were absorbed by people.

What is the underlying logic of this aura’s operation?

Many changes in earth energy and causality laws are invisible to ordinary ”flesh-and-blood” cultivators, but they can’t escape Mo Hua’s Divine Thought Taoism eye.

In Bi Jie and others’ eyes, these were merely the manifestations of withered grass and trees, but in Mo Hua’s pure golden, deeply insightful Divine Sense vision, more profound changes lay within.

His Taoist eye could clearly see that once these red-yellow auras were inhaled into a cultivator’s body, they flowed along the meridians, integrating with the flesh.
