Immortality Through Array Formations

Chapter 2706: Chapter 88: Famine Disaster_2

What stunned Mo Hua was that these red and yellow energies did not possess ”toxicity” and would not harm a cultivator’s body.

They were even different from what their appearance suggested.

These red and yellow energies themselves did not possess the laws of ”decay,” ”decline.”

What they actually possessed was ”vitality.”

Mo Hua’s pupils contracted slightly, feeling it was very counterintuitive, yet this was the reality.

The essence of the energy causing the famine disaster is not ”decay,” not ”decline,” not ”wither”...

but ”vitality.”

When this famine disaster energy is integrated into a cultivator’s body, it enhances the cultivator’s physical ”vitality,” making them mentally excited, speeding the flow of blood qi, and accelerating digestion and absorption, even temporarily boosting cultivation and strength.

They would be filled with ”vigour,” feeling tireless.

But the consequences are also evident.

This would cause rapid bodily metabolism, blood qi depletion at an absurd rate, leading a person to an intense ”hunger” very quickly.

This indeed is not ”poison.”

It’s not even ”disease.”

This is merely a very natural process of blood qi metabolism within the cultivator, a process of feeling hunger.

However, this red and yellow energy has simply accelerated this natural process within a short timeframe.

It is ”vitality” that led to ”decline,” ”decay,” ultimately causing a large-scale ”famine disaster.”

It’s like...

”Prosperity” leading to ”destruction.”

”Opulence” leading to ”barren.”

This famine disaster, using ”life,” led to large-scale ”death”...

Mo Hua’s expression froze, his pupils shook, his heart couldn’t help but feel a chill.

He’s somewhat unable to distinguish whether this barbaric wilderness famine disaster is a natural law, or whether someone behind the scenes is deliberately creating a catastrophe.

If someone did this intentionally, understanding how life leads to death, their comprehension of the ”Dao” must be terrifyingly deep.

Reversal is the movement of Dao.

And while Mo Hua was pondering, suddenly, within the Bi Fang Tribe crowd, a barbarian cultivator inhaled the famine disaster energy, becoming wildly excited, their heart pounding violently, their veins bursting forth, blood qi accelerated consumption, deep inside came an indescribable ”hunger.”

His eyes gradually reddened, uncontrollable drool at the corner of his mouth, then he bit into a fellow barbarian soldier, tearing away a blood-drenched chunk of flesh.

This act instantly provoked everyone’s rage.

”Damn it! Traitor?!”

”What’s going on?”

But soon, more people began to bite each other.

The feeling of ”hunger” drove them to eat indiscriminately.

But with vegetation withering, around them, the only thing to ”eat” was people.

The battlefield of killing instantly turned into a purgatory of cannibalism.

This bloody anomaly shocked everyone, causing both battling parties to halt their weapons in horror.

Mo Hua immediately said coldly: ”Retreat to the Stone Palace!”

Upon hearing, Dan Zhu and others promptly retreated to the Stone Palace.

Bi Jie was outraged upon seeing this, leading his followers in an attack.

But his assault was blocked by Chi Feng, and the attack from the Bi Fang Tribe was stopped entirely by the formation Mo Hua had placed at the Stone Palace’s entrance.

Bi Jie and his people could not break into the Stone Palace.

Behind them, the red and yellow energy continued to spread, and members of the Bi Fang Tribe continued to slaughter each other, devouring one another.

As flesh flew, even Bi Jie himself vaguely felt a hunger within his heart.

Bi Jie’s face turned pale, immediately realizing something was amiss.

Yet he was unwilling to give up; he felt reluctant.

Within the Shugubu, there was something he wished for day and night.

This item, nobody knew, nobody could discover, he had to seize it before Dan Zhu.

In Bi Jie’s moment of hesitation, the symptoms of the ”famine disaster” suddenly intensified.

More and more barbarian cultivators were eating people due to hunger.

More members of the Bi Fang Tribe died, and their fate was extremely tragic after death, their flesh devoured, leaving only ghastly white bones behind.

Even Bi Jie couldn’t help but swallow.

The hunger began to burn his heart.

Bi Jie knew the situation was hopeless.

The barbaric wilderness itself was perilous, and faced with such sudden strangeness, anyone must retreat far away, cannot compete with heavenly calamity, else they’ll perish without a burial.

Bi Jie could only grit his teeth and command:

”Retreat!”

The Bi Fang Tribe then left, led by Bi Jie, and some barbarians full of hunger, preying on humans, were beheaded, leaving only their corpses behind.

Yet, those who ”lived” and left might not be spared.

Precisely because they ”lived,” the famine disaster energy full of ”vitality” continued to flow within, keeping their blood in a vibrant ”boiling” state, gradually plunging them into deep hunger.

On the retreat, people ”fell ill” continuously.

Bi Jie could only kill one after another, until no one suffered ”hunger” illness.

This seemingly ordinary ”famine disaster,” just a single encounter almost wiped out Bi Jie’s side.

Bi Jie felt his heart bleeding while feeling chilled all over.

...

Meanwhile, within the Stone Palace, some people from the Danque Tribe also contracted the ”famine disaster” illness.

They were fine while fighting Bi Jie, but upon retreating to the Stone Palace, some of Danque’s barbarian soldiers ”fell ill” and began wanting to ”eat” something.

Dan Zhu immediately ordered to tie up those sick barbarian soldiers.

He was kind-hearted, wouldn’t kill his own soldiers, thus ordered to bring out some dry provisions and jerky for these barbarian soldiers.

These barbarian soldiers didn’t necessarily have to eat ”human flesh”.

They could eat anything, but after eating a lot, they still couldn’t satiate their hunger.

And stationed at the Stone Palace, the food itself wasn’t abundant, if they kept feeding, trouble would be big.
