Starting from the Wizarding World

Chapter 223 The Hesitant Top RulersChapter 223 The Hesitant Top Rulers
The battle between a group of top Moon wizards including Rorschach and the original survivors in Old Lingdon was a big fight, although the impact was minimized as much as possible by Hastur, the Yellow King, and Bayatis the Snakebeard, but it still became a big deal in the end.

After all, at the final stage of that battle, the three groups of shadows did not choose to continue fighting with them, but went directly to the Blood Prison world group.

Their plan was definitely successful in the end, because Bai was indeed rescued, but they died before Bai was completely out of trouble.

They don’t know that all their actions are under the watchful eyes of the Nine Thrones, just as the Nine Thrones don’t realize that they are being used.

Bai’s escape was definitely a bombshell to the wizarding world.

But it also caused a great impact on several camps around the wizard camp. Each of them immediately began to prepare for possible changes that might occur next, and the Old Ones camp was undoubtedly the most proactive in preparation.

Because this matter has been related to the old camp from the very beginning.

Cthulhu and his people’s active intervention has made the Old Ones a part of the game, and it is too late even if they want to stay out of it.

It was at that time that the top Old Ones in the Old One camp really began to pay attention to this matter and gained a deeper understanding of the situation.

After learning that Cthulhu and his group were so bold as to dare to directly touch the reverse scale of the wizarding world, these top Old Ones realized that the Old One camp could no longer stay out of this game.

No matter how they respond, they are doomed to no longer stand idly by. They can only choose a side and leave the rest to fate.

But they are indeed very conflicted now.

Because although Cthulhu and his companions chose to help the original survivors and tried to rescue the original evil mother, Hastur and his companions also struck a balance.

Although the final result was that the Original Weird Mother successfully escaped, this was not due to the intervention of the Old Camp. It was purely because the Nine Thrones messed up the situation themselves and outsmarted themselves.

Therefore, if the old camp really has to choose sides, it is hard to say which side to stand on.

Theoretically speaking, their conflicts with the wizarding world are definitely greater than their friendships. After all, the war faction in the Old Camp has always been causing trouble.

But if you really want to choose the original side, there will be problems.

This is because the original party rarely recruits outsiders. Even if they do, they must change their life form or even completely submit to the original survivors.

For example, among the three groups of shadows before, only the rule-level shadow in the lead was the real original remnant, and the other two were its subordinates.

Although in the eyes of outsiders they are all the original survivors, the difference is undoubtedly huge, because their life and death are in the hands of the leading shadow. Only in this case will the original survivors recruit them.

In fact, Rorschach’s Infernal Attendants also have this kind of relationship, which is nothing unusual.

You have to lose something to gain something, it’s just a matter of making choices.

But what is certain is that if the Old Ones camp chooses to stand on the side of the Original Ones, the number of Old Ones who will survive in the end will definitely be very small, and they will survive without freedom.

If they were willing to accept this result, they would not have chosen to leave Shidao in the first place, because Shidao is not really as big as an island.

You know, the size of Blood Hell Island is comparable to a large world.

Compared with Blood Prison Island, Shi Island is only slightly larger.

Not to mention just accommodating the Old Ones, even if all the factions of this era were crammed into the Island of Beginning, it would still be able to function normally.

But the atmosphere of Hajime Island is indeed a bit weird.

Therefore, even if they could continue to live there, most of the Old Ones would not be willing to do so. They would rather live another era and then die.

Of course, it would be better if they could live a few more generations, but if it requires sacrificing their freedom or self, they are definitely unwilling to do so.

Therefore, those top Old Ones were actually unwilling to stand on the side of the Original One, especially when they thought that the Original One’s mortal enemy was Purgatory, which had destroyed them once, they had even less courage to stand on the side of the Original One.

Yes, they don’t want revenge.

The psychological trauma that Purgatory brought to them was so great that they had no courage to retaliate at all, but they certainly would not surrender to Purgatory.

After comprehensive consideration, it is definitely most appropriate to stand on the side of the wizard.

Even if there are many unpleasantness between the two parties, it is the best choice.

At this time, in a clock tower in Oldlington, several incarnations of the top Old Ones were discussing this matter -

On the black chair at one side of the round table, an elegant woman was half-lying on the chair lazily, and she suggested lazily: ”I think we should just make peace with the wizards directly... Although they are stronger than the dominant civilizations in most of the past eras, they are still not as powerful as Purgatory and Primordial. They should not refuse our joining.”

This graceful woman is just the incarnation of one of the top Old Ones, whose original form is the ’Supreme Mother Goddess’ Shub-Niggurath, and She is also known as the ’Black Goat of the Forest that Gives Birth to All Things’. One of Her most famous incarnations is the black goat form, which gave birth to countless descendants.

Many of the Old Ones today are His descendants.

Even during the heyday of the Old Ones, this one was firmly in the top five, and his influence was even in the top three.

Although there are many traitors among his descendants, and they will not become his subordinates just because they are his descendants, but even if only one-fifth of them recognize him, his influence is enough to sweep across a large area.

In the great battle against Purgatory, the then-invincible First Old One fell at the hands of Purgatory Lord Yuan.

However, his sacrifice also gave many of the Old Ones a chance to escape, and they were eventually successfully led to the island of the beginning.

That time, at least one third of the top Old Ones died.

Among the remaining top Old Ones, the Black Goat of the Forest was undoubtedly one of the strongest, and his status was even higher than before.

Now that she proposed to make peace with the wizards, the other top Old Ones would definitely think carefully about it.

”I disagree.” A rapidly spinning ball of light on the seat to her left expressed a different opinion. ”Who to stand on is indeed worth discussing, but there must be a purpose, right? The wizards are certainly very powerful, even stronger than we were at our peak.”

”But what’s the point? When the catastrophe comes, their fate will be no different from ours. Should we stand on their side and wait to perish together?”

The rotating ball of light clearly disagreed with the opinion of Shab, the Black Goat of the Forest, but there was actually nothing wrong with what he said.

At least so far, wizards have never mentioned that they have a way to avoid the catastrophe. Who can be sure that they can really do it?
If there is no other way in the end, we will all die together.

This risk is undoubtedly great. This rotating ball of light is called Yog-Sothoth, also known as the ’Lord of the Gate’, and is the strongest person in the Old Ones camp today!
When people usually mention the strongest person in the Old Ones camp, they are usually referring to Him.

In addition, He Himself is somewhat schizophrenic due to His ability problems, so He usually solves this problem by splitting His incarnations.

The most famous among them are the Ancient Eternal and the God of Time. These two are also the top Old Ones and possess strength close to the rule level, but they are just incarnations of Yogg.

This time, the God of Time, Aforgomon, is also one of Cthulhu’s collaborators. In other words, this time in cooperation with the original survivors, he, the most powerful one, also has a part, but it is his incarnation that intervenes.

But paradoxically, His other incarnation, the Ancient Eternal Tavel, stood on the other side and chose to stop this together with Hastur.

In other words, He stood on both sides at the same time.

This may seem contradictory to outsiders, but the other top Old Ones present were not surprised at all, because the strongest Old One today was mentally ill.

Nothing is surprising what He does.

The other top Old Ones did not immediately agree with the opinions He expressed, even though He was the strongest.

Nyarlathotep, who appeared as the ’Dark Man’, sneered mercilessly: ”You have just taken back Aforgomon’s avatar, so your judgment is affected by his thoughts. I think you should stop talking. If we really listen to you, we will die without knowing how.”

Upon hearing this, Yog, the Lord of the Gate, was furious and asked, ”Nyarlathotep, do you understand who you are talking to?!”

Nyarlathotep crossed his legs and said nonchalantly, ”Why, do you want to kill me? I promise to sit here and not move.”

When the ’Lord of the Gate’ Yug heard this, his spinning ball of light suddenly flickered and looked like it was about to explode!
But soon, His rotation stabilized again, and He said in a slightly more normal tone: ”Sorry, Aforgomon’s will is still interfering with me. I will not participate in the discussion. You decide.”

At this moment, the ’Lord of the Gate’ Yug is at his most normal.

But unfortunately, this normal state only accounts for about one-tenth of His normal state, and most of the rest of the time He is various crazy versions of Him.

A villain like Nyarlathotep likes to provoke the crazy version of the ’Lord of the Gate’ Yog the most. Anyway, once the most critical moment comes, Yog’s normal will will forcibly take the dominant position.

So there is no need to worry about anything going wrong.

Moreover, even if a fight really broke out, these top Old Ones present would not be easily defeated by the ’Lord of the Gate’ Yogg in a few moves.

If they join forces, even the ’Lord of the Gate’ Yoge may not be able to win, so they naturally won’t be so afraid of Yoge.

This relationship is like that between the Star Throne and the Holy Throne.

Even though the Holy Throne is much stronger than the Star Throne, as the most powerful being, if the Holy Throne really fights to the death with the Star Throne, the Star Throne will definitely die.

But under normal circumstances, the Star Throne would definitely not be afraid of the Holy Throne, the principle is the same.

”Shabu, you make the decision. Ignore this lunatic. He himself doesn’t know what he is thinking.” Another voice sounded.

The one who spoke this time was a top-notch Old One in the form of a gray wolf.

Compared with other Old Ones, His appearance seemed too ordinary. He was neither mysterious nor intimidating.

But his attitude towards Yog, the Lord of the Gate, was much bolder than Nyarlathotep, and his expression was even full of disdain.

His name is Msissa, also known as the ’Lord of Tindalos’!
In fact, his relationship with the ’Lord of the Gate’ Yug is the most complicated, because he is very likely the offspring of Yug himself.

But in this kind of thing, no one knows the truth except him and Yug.

In short, ever since he came to prominence, he has always regarded Yug as the one he must defeat and wants to replace him.

His strength was indeed extremely strong. Before Yug went completely crazy, his strength was not much weaker than Yug’s.

If Yug had not fallen into madness due to the death of the former First Ruler and had not become the strongest, He might have actually defeated Yug.

Naturally, he is no match for Yuge now.

But He is not afraid of Yug.

If Nyarlathotep ridiculed Yog purely to make fun of his crazy version of him, then Msissa was really displeased with him.

When ’Lord of the Gate’ Yug heard Msisha call him a lunatic, he did not refute. He just looked at him deeply and then closed his eyes to rest.

This strongest person from the old camp, at least in terms of temper, is definitely better than most of the rule-level ones... only in the normal version.

When Shab, the Black Goat of the Forest, saw that Msissa had asked her to make the decision, she immediately looked at Nyarlathotep and the others and asked, ”What do you think?”

Nyarlathotep shrugged. ”I don’t care. I’m not good at making decisions on this kind of thing. I’m only responsible for harassment operations.”

Shabu nodded and said, ”Then let’s do as I said before. We can try to contact each other first... hm?”

He paused suddenly in the middle of his words.

When he paused, several other top Old Ones also had similar reactions, because they all sensed at the same time that an extremely powerful being had descended on Old Lington!

Moreover, the other party did not conceal the traces of his arrival!

In other words, the other party took the initiative to let them notice it!
’Lord of the Gate’ Yug still had his eyes closed, but he simply raised his hand and opened a door behind a group of top Old Ones.

”Boom boom boom!”

There was a knock on the door.

”Please come in—” After a slight hesitation, Shab said in the direction of the door.

Then, the door slowly opened in front of the top Old Ones, and a silver-haired young man walked out...
