Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 869: Next Destination

Kent walked close to the headless body of the Metal Wing Lightning Hawk with a smile on his face. Iver and Adina also moved forward, all of them wearing shocked expressions.

They both are powerful Spirit Lords, each possessing great strength and eyesight.

However, no matter how much the two of them wanted to brag, the attack Kent used to kill the beast was one they knew would kill them even faster than it took the beast.

It just didn’t make sense. One second the beast was standing, the next second, its head was on the ground.

And considering Kent was merely a level 8 Core Formation expert, He shouldn’t have this much strength within him.

However, he did, and that scared them.

’I suppose someone whose name appeared on the Sword Dao Tablet is no easy person. But even so, killing a level 8 Spirit Lord that easily just doesn’t seem real.’

Adina said, looking at the smile on Kent’s face as he picked up a head-sized Beast core oozing with energy and stored it in his space ring.

Kent turned to Iver. ”Do you happen to know something about weapon refining?”

Iver shook his head.

Kent sighed and then looked at Adina, but she also shook her head.

[Does the master want to refine the metallic feathers of the beast?]

”But of course, Tower. They are powerful soul weapons I can use to cause considerable damage. With weapons this sharp, my dream of killing an immortal might just come to pass quickly.”

[In that case, since the master already has a soul flag, why doesn’t the master buy a soul capture skill from the tower store and then use this mission to gather some souls? When the master goes back to the sect, the master can learn how to refine weapons from the elders.]

”That is a smart move, Tower. Let’s do that.”

Kent looked at the colossal body of the beast, and his smile spread all over his face. ”That is thousands of soul weapons right here.”

Kent was so happy, in fact.

He stored away the body of the Beast. However, he saw a look in Iver’s eyes that made him turn to him and speak. ”Don’t worry, the next beast will be yours to sell.

This one is too valuable for me to give it to you.” Iver nodded, already liking the tone Kent used. ’It looks like I won’t be dying by his hand at least’

Adina walked close to Kent and asked a question, ”How were you able to kill the beast so quickly?”

Kent waved his hand, and the sword he had been refining inside his soul universe appeared before him, oozing a rather potent soul energy.

”Wow, that is a powerful soul weapon. How can you have this much soul energy to nourish this sword to this stage? It is just a legendary-grade sword, but it can kill even a Spirit Lord.”

Kent chuckled, ”If this is already enough to take your breath away, then wait until we meet again a few years from today.”

Adina raised her brow. ”You make it sound like we have already reached the Teleportation Mountains.”

”We will get there soon enough. For now, we have to leave this mountain in four hours and go to our next stop, where we will face another beast.

But until then, I have to leave a care package for our pursuers.”

A few minutes later, Kent retrieved the flying boat, and they were already on their way to the next location.

It would take them four days, but judging by the report the tower gave him, one of the teams looking for Adina was closing in on them.

Kent was already prepared to handle them, but he first wanted to absorb the core. With the teams coming, he knew they had to reach their next stop first, where they would have a two-day window for him to absorb the core now in his possession.

---

[Five hours after Kent and his team left — The Gravedust Brotherhood]

A team of twenty-one Beastmen, each clad in bonelike armor, arrived at Lightning Peak.

”Leader, they went this way,” one of them said, pointing at a track left by Kent and his team. Of course, it was all part of Kent’s plan.

”Looks like there are three of them,” he spoke again, causing his team to look at the tracks closely.

”How is that possible? We were told there would be only one lady. How come there are three of them?” a blue-faced demon said, sensing that something wasn’t right. However, his teammates just brushed off his question.

”We were told to bring the lady in, and judging by these tracks, there is one lady and two men. This doesn’t change the mission objective, so we should hurry before the others get to them.

Remember, the payday is what we should focus on, not the strangeness of the mission.”

”Okay, leader,” the blue-faced demon responded and started following his teammates as they began ascending the mountain.

When they were almost at the peak, the tracker stopped. ”Something isn’t right.”

”What is it?”

”The tracks clearly showed three people started climbing the mountain. However, along the way, one went that way.” He pointed to the right, where Iver had gone.

”Now, the lady went to the left.”

”They split up. But why would they do something like that?”

”It is simple, everyone. The reason they split up was that they were ambushing something. Now, we should also split up and see if we can find where the tracks went.”

The group split into three teams, each with seven members.

A few moments after they started following the three tracks, they all came to a stop in front of three four-foot-tall boxes radiating subtle soul energy.

”What is that?” one asked.

”I can sense soul energy coming from it.”

They paused for a moment, scanning it for a few more seconds before they all came to an agreement and moved toward it.

The moment they were three steps from it, they heard a beep sound, making them stop. However, by then, they had already entered Kent’s trap.

The formation hummed to life, and with a smile on his face, several miles away, he snapped his fingers, causing the three boxes to explode in unison.

Regardless of their strength, they were all thrown off the mountain, some dying on the spot, some sustaining grave soul damage, with the only one who managed to block some of the attack being their Level 8 Spirit Lord leader.

The team of twenty-one lost eighteen members. Ten died instantly, with eight dying a few minutes after crashing into the ground 140 km below.

---

”Two down, nine more to go.”

Kent smiled.

If only he had known a day ago, the Green Fang mercenary team met their end at the hands of the Wandering Demon Swordsman.

When they went to check on the explosion he had left for the wandering demon swordsman, they were ambushed and killed within minutes.

This also means the wandering demon swordsman who was supposed to spend five days regenerating his leg now needed three.

Of course, Kent didn’t know this because he never accounted for the ability of the Wandering Demon Swordsman that allows him to absorb the blood of his kills to heal and strengthen himself.

So three days later, the Wandering Demon Swordsman was back on Kent and Adina’s trail, now with extra caution and anger burning in his heart.

Four days later, Kent and his team arrived at the Vine Forest, where his next target, the Vine Lion, is located.
