Earth's Greatest Magus

The Law of Origin was not merely another law among many. It was the root of all laws—the pure, undivided principle from which everything else was born.

At the moment of the universe’s creation, the Origin had shattered, breaking into countless fragments that scattered across existence. Those fragments embedded themselves into every aspect of reality, from the ten elemental laws to more advanced and abstract paths.

Every law carried a trace of Origin.

Yet in most cases, it was so diluted that cultivators could spend entire lifetimes without ever perceiving it.

And still—

Even the smallest fragment held overwhelming significance.

It was said that only two to three percent comprehension of Origin was enough to grant one the qualification to break into the Third Cosmos, becoming a true Grand Magus. To go further and reach the level of a Supreme being, ten percent was considered the standard threshold.

The numbers sounded deceptively small.

But Emery understood their true weight.

Even a fraction of a percent could take centuries to grasp. Some, like Klea, were born with extraordinary talent and the fortune to inherit divine techniques from powerful factions such as the Nephilim, granting them a clearer path toward such comprehension. Others, like Morgana, gained fragments of Origin through higher beings—her primordial cosmic flame carrying ancient imprints of fundamental power.

Emery was not lacking in opportunity—if anything, he had too many.

Multiple primordial beings and numerous divine techniques all offered pathways toward Origin.

Yet his focus had always been divided, and he had never devoted enough time to fully comprehend any one path at its deepest level.

Furthermore, the laws he cultivated were among the most difficult—light, darkness, nature, and space—and the effort required to balance them had itself become a massive obstacle.

As a result, despite his high level of law comprehension, he had never truly grasped Origin.

Until now.

For the first time, he felt it.

Initially, he believed his first true insight into Origin would come from either Khaos or the Elysian Tree, both of which aligned closely with his Dao of Heaven and Earth.

To his surprise—

The first door opened through the Stellar Beast.

After stabilizing the second stage of the Stellar Beast Core Assimilation, the runic patterns across the Devouring Beast’s body became clearer than ever before. What had once appeared as complex, incomprehensible engravings now felt alive, each line flowing with a steady rhythm, each symbol pulsing with layered meaning as if it were breathing alongside him.

Emery focused completely.

The guidance left behind by the Stellar Beast Emperor gave him the missing insight, allowing the scattered pieces of understanding within his mind to finally connect. A trace left behind within the Stellar Beast inheritance itself.

It responded instinctively, pulsing with waves of primal energy that flowed into his soul. For a brief instant, everything aligned.

Devouring.

Primal.

Pure.

Within that perfect convergence, something revealed itself.

A fragment of Origin.

Emery held onto that fragment, letting his mind sink deeper into the sensation while guiding it carefully into stability. Hours passed without notice.

Then—

A subtle ripple spread through his consciousness.

He sensed it—a thin golden thread forming within his soul—and a notification followed.

[You have comprehended the Law of Origin]

[Law of Origin: 1%]

Emery rose to his feet and released the energy that had been building within him. A deep roar tore from his chest, carrying the force of his breakthrough across the domain. In front of him, the Star Devouring Beast massive form trembling as it echoed his call. The resonance between them surged outward, sending ripples of power across the entire inner world.

That ripple did not dissipate.

Instead, it returned.

It fed back into him.

At the center of his soul, the newly formed golden thread pulsed faintly, yet the effect it carried was anything but small.

Such a tiny fragment—

Yet capable of such profound change.

The moment the sliver of Origin settled within him, Emery felt the transformation ripple through every layer of his being.

His divine sense sharpened and the flow of his energy seemed to obey him with greater clarity.

The three layers of his Second Cosmos, which had only recently taken shape, began to solidify rapidly, their structure tightening as if forged anew. In that instant, Emery could clearly feel it. He had reached the half-step threshold toward the peak of the realm.

Only a narrow distance remained between him and the Third Cosmos.

But unlike before, he was no longer uncertain about the path ahead.

He knew what he needed.

Only by gathering enough fragments of that fundamental law of Origin could he achieve a sucessfull breakthrough.

Emery followed the guidance left behind by his master, steadying his breath as he focused inward. Slowly, a faint golden glow emerged from his forehead. The sliver of Origin revealed itself once more, condensing into a delicate thread of light that hovered before him.

It was impossibly thin.

Almost insignificant to the eye.

Yet its presence carried a depth that made the surrounding space feel heavier.

Emery could not wait to test it.

But then—

The golden thread before him began to sway—not with instability, but with purpose.

Emery’s expression shifted as a ripple spread across his domain. His eyes narrowed as realization dawned.

Without hesitation, he rose into the air and followed, crossing the vast expanse of his inner world in a straight path before descending toward the dark mountain.

Before him stood the massive gate.

The golden threads of Origin reacted as they approached it, and the gate trembled in response. Faint lines began to glow, tracing dormant runes that slowly awakened from their long slumber.

Then—

He heard it.

Whispers rose from the depths, low and ancient, carrying a presence that stirred something deep within his soul. It was a voice he had not heard in a long time, yet one he recognized instantly.

“This… is… Khaos…”

Around the gate, three colossal figures began to stir.

Killgragah. Chututlu. Dargototh.

Their massive forms rose from stillness, awakening as though summoned by the same force.

Emery stepped forward.

He raised his hand.

And in response—

The Khaos gate began to open.

Centauri City

Within a towering palace carved from ice and stone, King Dunadan Proxima—the Supreme Lord of Centauri City—sat upon his throne.

His presence remained as imposing as ever, yet there was an unmistakable tension in his expression. The cold composure that usually defined him had been replaced by a quiet, restrained concern.

Before him, a line of ministers stood in formation, delivering their reports with measured voices.

“My lord,” one of them began, bowing deeply, “we have identified over a hundred infected individuals among the incoming refugees. All have been isolated, and the apothecaries have begun administering the newly developed treatments.”

He paused briefly, carefully choosing his next words.

“However, the number continues to rise. The infection is spreading faster than anticipated. If we continue to allow entry at the current rate, containment will fail. An outbreak within the city would be… inevitable.”

The words weighed heavily upon the chamber.

Dunadan exhaled slowly, his breath condensing in the cold air.

In a low, controlled voice, he muttered, “How… has the scourge reached this deep already?”

Before he could respond, the great doors opened abruptly as another minister rushed in, his usual composure completely shattered.

“My lord!” he called out, voice strained with urgency. “We have received an emergency alert from the enforcers on site!”

A ripple of unease spread across the hall.

Everyone present understood the gravity of those words.

The enforcers stationed at the front were led by another Supreme—one whose strength rivaled to their lord. For such a force to send an emergency alert meant the situation had escalated far beyond expectation.

Dunadan’s gaze sharpened instantly. Then, without hesitation, he issued the command for emergency sector protocols.
