Earth's Greatest Magus

Emery regained most of his strength and decided it was time to explore the mysterious world he had fallen into.

The unfamiliar environment carried an undeniable aura of danger, and Emery knew better than to let curiosity override caution. With VIA’s assistance, he began his investigation, meticulously analyzing the land, air, and every trace of flora and fauna he encountered, hoping to give clues to the place.

His initial findings were nothing short of astonishing. The air itself was dense with rich spirit energy—not just abundant, but at least three times more concentrated than what could be found even at the peak of Magus Academy’s mountain. Such an environment was exceedingly rare, comparable only to the most revered sanctuaries controlled by top-grade Magus Alliance factions.

Given this overwhelming concentration of spirit energy, Emery anticipated the presence of high-tier ingredients scattered throughout the natural landscape. His expectations were quickly validated as he stumbled upon patches of tier 2 and tier 3 plants without much effort. Fields of rare herbs flourished under the nourishing energy of this world, presenting an apothecary’s dream.

Despite the temptation to harvest immediately, Emery held himself back. He reminded himself that an environment this rich in resources was bound to host equally powerful creatures. Where rare plants grew, apex predators often lurked nearby.

Keeping his guard up, Emery expanded his divine sense, carefully scanning a dozen miles in every direction. To his surprise, instead of danger, he detected even more clusters of high-grade flora.

[Starfall Daisy – Tier 5]

Emery’s gaze fell upon a sprawling field of delicate white flowers speckled with silver spots that shimmered like distant starlight. Starfall Daisies were an incredibly rare ingredient even in the vast Magus universe, highly valued for their potent ability to cleanse high-level toxins. Their medicinal properties were essential for numerous advanced recipes Emery had.

His eyes widened in disbelief at the sheer number of flowers blanketing the area. However, he quickly realized the challenge ahead. Starfall Daisies could not simply be plucked; their stems required precise and delicate extraction techniques to preserve their properties. Harvesting an entire field would take hours.

“No, Emery… focus! Ignore them!” he muttered under his breath, forcing himself to turn away from the mesmerizing sight.

But his resolve was tested again just a few miles further.

The soft luminescence of vibrant leaves caught his attention, glowing faintly in the dim light. Emery’s breath hitched as he recognized them immediately.

“This… this is Luminara Leaf!”

[Luminara Leaf – Tier 6]

These leaves were just as rare, if not more valuable, than the Starfall Daisies. Known for their exceptional ability to enhance mental clarity, Luminara Leaves were an indispensable component in crafting soul-enhancing potions. With enough of them, Emery realized he might even have the chance to refine and improve some of his most challenging recipes.

Emery took a deep sigh and used his divine sense once more, stretching it across dozens of miles to ensure there were no lurking dangers. After a moment of contemplation and confirming the area was secure, he decided to access his domain. With a flicker of energy, his daughter Shinta and the two boys, Ha Ron and Kingrig, emerged.

Shinta let out an excited cheer as she hugged her father tightly. She had been pleading with Emery to let her join him on his explorations, only to be met with firm refusals every time.

“The first sign of trouble, you’re all going back in,” Emery said firmly, his eyes narrowing slightly to emphasize the seriousness of his words.

“Yes, Father! I will behave!” Shinta beamed back at him, her smile wide and her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Shinta had been expecting a grand and thrilling adventure filled with mystery and excitement, but her enthusiasm quickly faded when she realized their first task: manual labor. Emery tasked all three of them with carefully harvesting the rare ingredients scattered across the fields. It was meticulous and time-consuming work.

To ensure their safety, Emery also summoned Twik and Livi from his domain. The two loyal companions took up protective positions nearby, their keen senses constantly scanning the area for any potential threats.

Growing up on Ouroboros Planet and possessing a natural affinity for plant elements, Shinta was able to handle the task with ease. She moved gracefully through the fields, her hands deftly separating stems and collecting delicate petals without damaging them. Even Kingrig, despite his wild and unruly nature, displayed surprising competence. His experiences with plants back home allowed him to contribute efficiently to the task.

It was Ha Ron who required the most practice. The assassin lacked the natural touch and familiarity with plant work, but his dexterous arms proved reliable for precision tasks. With a bit of guidance and determination, he soon found his rhythm, carefully handling the rare flora under Shinta’s watchful eyes.

As the group settled into their tasks, Emery continued his exploration. His divine sense guided him to another discovery—clusters of strange and unfamiliar materials scattered across the forest floor.

[Unidentified Materials]

Emery’s eyes lit up with excitement. These were high-grade herbs and minerals that even the Universal Flora database couldn’t identify. Such a discovery was akin to unearthing a treasure chest in the middle of a desert. Every step he took reinforced the realization that this world was nothing short of an apothecary’s paradise.

For a brief moment, Emery almost forgot about the ever-present danger lurking in the shadows of this unknown world.

The activity continued, with the group moving from one location to another, harvesting rare materials. Days passed, and aside from a few Desolate-level beasts they wisely avoided, they encountered no humans or elves.

Emery couldn’t shake off the growing unease gnawing at him. If this realm truly lacked any signs of civilization, his chances of finding a way back would become dangerously slim. The weight of the looming duel with Kronos, now only nine months away, pressed heavily on his mind.

However, a day later, Emery finally detected ripples in the space—evidence of a battle approximately fifty miles away.

Without hesitation, Emery called everyone back into his domain. Shinta’s face twisted into a frown.

“No, Father… let me come with you,” she protested.

“Not this time,” Emery said firmly.

With a flick of his hand, all three were pulled back into the safety of his domain. Alone once more, Emery cautiously approached the source of the disturbance.

As he closed the distance, his divine sense provided more clarity. A dozen figures came into view—a mix of humans and dark elves, most of them at the peak of the Magus realm. However, instead of fighting each other, they were working together against a massive Ancient Desolate Beast. The group was in sync, coordinating their attacks and supporting one another seamlessly.

Emery stopped in his tracks, his eyes narrowing as he observed the scene. This was an unexpected dynamic—humans and dark elves working in harmony. It was a rare sight.

He hesitated, debating his next move.
