Earth's Greatest Magus

Emery’s decision to remain at the Moon base for a few days was fueled by a sense of responsibility. He wanted to ensure that Earth remained free from any potential threats while overseeing the dedicated craftsmen at work, tirelessly repairing and fortifying their lunar stronghold.

Amid the ongoing efforts, Emery utilized the time to initiate contact with both Warwick from the Silvermane faction and Otto of the Nexus faction. Warwick promptly agreed to dispatch a formidable wolf elite squad to reinforce Earth’s defenses, showcasing the unwavering support of the Silvermane faction. Otto, renowned for his inventive mind, proposed to study Emery’s situation and craft a solution for a teleportation portal, a potential game-changer in their strategy.

Understanding the significance of rest and recovery, Emery dedicated himself to recuperating from the grueling battle. His primary concern was stabilizing the aftermath of devouring three distinct energies : two from the divine beasts and one infused with fiery power from the pirates. ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ novᴇl(ꜰ)ire.ɴet

As Emery gradually regained his strength, he received the news that the training ground had been completed.Viewing this as a strategic opportunity, Emery was eager to assess the capabilities of the new members within their group.

Magus Silica, Magus Sheena, and Emery’s three friends, drawn together by a shared excitement, formed an intimate gathering on the corner of the magical arena. The atmosphere buzzed with anticipation as they eagerly positioned themselves, their eyes reflecting the thrill of what was about to unfold – the clash between Emery and the formidable grand magus hybrid.

In the center of attention, Anpu stood with unwavering confidence, his arms folded in a display of silent assurance.

“Alright, let’s see what you’ve got,” he proclaimed, a determined glint in his eyes as he prepared himself for the magical duel that was about to unfold.

Anpu responded not with words but with a subtle glance toward the other onlookers, conveying the expectation that more participants would join the battle. It was evident that he underestimated Emery, assuming he wasn’t formidable enough to face a grand magus-level fighter alone.

However, as Emery initiated his transformation and unleashed a cascade of buffs, the grand magus hybrid’s initial confidence began to waver.

Anpu’s response to Emery’s challenge was both swift and calculated. He harnessed the power of darkness, effortlessly absorbing Emery’s formidable punch, which boasted a battle power exceeding 800. With grace, Anpu not only countered each of Emery’s attacks but also tracked his movements seamlessly, displaying a level of skill and finesse that commanded respect.

Emery, undeterred, continued to push the limits, unveiling the potent Khaos power. It was at this point that the grand magus Anpu began to feel the strain, his confidence facing its first real challenge.

In response to Emery’s escalation, the hybrid grand magus employed his special skill. Golden markings manifested on his dark fur, spreading across his body and concentrating prominently on his forehead. This transformation heightened his strength significantly, creating an aura of power that altered the dynamics of the battle. VIA promptly supplied Emery with updated data, providing crucial insights into Anpu’s real abilities.

[Law of Beast 15%]

[Law of Destruction 5%]

VIA identified Anpu as a Cosmos level 2, slightly surpassing Gaizan in strength. Emery, intrigued by the unique law of destruction wielded by Anpu, couldn’t help but express his enthusiasm.

“Let me see, what weapon do you use?” Emery inquired, visibly excited, as Anpu produced two curved sabers. Emery mirrored the gesture, drawing his two swords in preparation for the ensuing round.

As the next round commenced, the power of Khaos heightened all of Emery’s darkness spells. His movements became faster and more unpredictable, especially with his enhanced Blink. Anpu countered by using his domain power, altering the entire training ground into a void, making his movements nearly impossible to discern.

Fortunately, Emery’s enhanced spirit reading ability allowed him to keep track of Anpu’s every move. Despite Anpu’s impressive sword skills, Emery found himself enjoying the challenge. Unfortunately, after a couple of dozen clashes, the grand magus’s curved sword started to crack, revealing its poor quality.

Undeterred, Anpu shifted tactics, utilizing his distinct ability to shoot dark beams from his eyes, one so unpredictable that forced Emery to retreat. The hybrid grandmagus also able to cast orbs filled with the law of destruction. Although lacking in raw power, these beams had the insidious ability to slowly disintegrate matter. Witnessing the newly repaired walls of the training ground beginning to crumble, Emery swiftly halted the fight.

“OK, that’s enough,” he declared. “You are amazingly strong!”

In the aftermath of the intense sparring session, Anpu displayed a different attitude, one tinged with respect toward Emery. Emery, in turn, cast a meaningful look towards Klea, silently acknowledging her insightful decision in recruiting such a formidable figure. For Emery, the hybrid grand magus was undeniably worth the substantial investment of 95 million spirit stones.

Emery, recognizing the potential, planned to equip him with much better weapons and brought the figure into the Khaos gate, with his high proficiency in darkness, the grand magus should be able to advance further when he accepted to become one of the Khaos seed.

However, the Khaos guardian revealed a surprising warning – Anpu needed to be released from the blood contract, as Khaos would not accept slaves as one of the Khaos candidates.

Emery found himself in a distinct predicament when it came to dealing with Anpu. Unlike the twins Yami and Yama, whose minds he could probe, or Hecate, whom he could coerce, the mind of a grand magus proved to be a challenge to enter. For now, Emery had to exercise patience, waiting for Anpu to build more trust before attempting to release him from the blood contract.

As the day unfolded, VIA detected an unfamiliar vessel steadily approaching the moon base. The automated protocols immediately flagged the presence of a grand magus on board, triggering a rapid shift in the moon base’s atmosphere from a state of normalcy to one of heightened alertness. Alarms blared, and personnel rushed to their designated stations, ready for any possible threat.

Emery, seizing the communication device, sternly declared, “Unidentified vessel, reveal your identity or face the risk of being fired upon!”

“Emery, is that you?”

A familiar voice echoed through the speaker system, infusing a sense of comfort and joy into Emery and his comrades. The individual they were communicating with turned out to be none other than their long-awaited senior, the esteemed Eastern Sage and Grand Magus Fuxi.
