Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2891: Auction 4

Emery’s eyes briefly lit up when the next weapon appeared above the stage.

Not just high grade, but top grade tier-seven blade slowly rotated in the air, its massive body forged from dense dark stone. The weapon radiated a heavy aura, and faint runic lines glowed along the surface of the blade.

The weapon seemed extremely suitable for Emery.

The sheer size and weight of the blade meant it could unleash devastating destructive force. Combined with his primal aura and physical strength, it would certainly produce terrifying attacks capable of crushing most opponents.

For a brief moment, Emery seriously considered bidding.

However, as he observed the weapon more carefully, his initial excitement slowly faded.

The sword’s runic patterns revealed its true nature, an earth-element weapon. It would still be extremely useful for him, especially for unleashing the power of his Three-Axis Mountain technique, but it would be far less compatible with his more advanced dark-based techniques such as Star-Rending Cleave.

Emery let out a quiet sigh.

If the blade had been a low-grade tier-seven weapon, he might still have purchased it as a secondary weapon. But for a top-grade tier-seven artifact, the price would inevitably become far too expensive for something that could not serve as his primary weapon.

And swords were always the most popular weapons among cultivators.

As expected, the bidding quickly escalated.

Within minutes, the price had already climbed close to ten thousand palace points.

The competition continued to intensify until one of the Supreme figures seated in a VIP chamber placed a decisive bid.

”Twenty thousand.”

The entire hall fell silent.

No one dared to challenge the price further.

The auctioneer struck the platform, finalizing the purchase.

Emery could only release a quiet sigh as the blade disappeared from the stage.

The auction continued.

More treasures appeared one after another—rare materials, unique artifacts, and ancient relics—each powerful in its own way. Yet none of them truly matched what Emery needed.

A faint hint of disappointment crossed his face.

Beside him, Klea quickly noticed his expression and gave him a gentle smile.

”It’s a monthly auction,” she reminded him softly. ”That just means we have another reason to come here again next month.”

Emery nodded with a small smile.

She was right.

It was far better to remain patient and wait for the perfect weapon rather than rushing to purchase something unsuitable.

For a moment, Emery even considered leaving early.

But just as he was about to stand up, the auctioneer stepped forward once more.

The atmosphere inside the hall changed instantly.

It was time for the two special auction items.

Emery had almost forgotten about them.

Although he had no intention of competing for such rare treasures, his curiosity immediately returned. Everyone in the hall leaned forward slightly, waiting to see what kind of item would appear.

The auctioneer slowly revealed the first treasure.

To everyone’s surprise, it was an ice sculpture.

The foot long statue depicted a terrifying four-eyed giant, its body carved with extraordinary detail. The creature’s expression was savage, its enormous mouth opened in a silent roar while the four eyes stared forward with chilling intensity.

The moment the sculpture was fully revealed, a terrifying aura erupted from it.

Emery suddenly felt a powerful killing intent surge toward his mind, as if the giant itself had come alive and was about to devour him.

However, with his strong mental power, Emery quickly realized the truth.

It was merely an illusion side effect.

Even so, several grand magus in the hall reacted instinctively. Some gasped in shock, while others broke into cold sweat as the terrifying pressure swept across the audience.

A few knowledgeable individuals quickly recognized the artifact.

”It’s from the Umbra faction... the Four-Eyed Giant Calamity statue”

The moment the name was spoken, whispers immediately spread across the hall.

The auctioneer did not bother explaining the item in detail. After all, tier-eight artifacts were carefully cataloged and recorded within the Magus Alliance archives. Anyone could easily find information about them through the Virtual Palace database.

Emery quickly accessed the information.

The Umbra faction was once a powerful Grade-4 faction, though it had declined significantly over the centuries. The statue itself had been created by their legendary ancestor, the Umbra Emperor, one of the Twenty-Four Supreme Emperors recorded in history.

According to the records, the Umbra Emperor had once defeated a terrifying four-eyed demonic monarch from an ancient battlefield. After slaying the creature, he refined its power and sealed part of its essence within this statue.

Through the artifact, the user could release the power of the Four-Eyed Giant, unleashing a devastating attack comparable to a tier-nine spell—a technique powerful enough to threaten even a Supreme.

Because of its terrifying power, the statue was classified as tier-eight artifact.

Although it was technically a consumable treasure with limited uses, the statue itself contained fragments of Origin Law comprehension left behind by the Umbra Emperor. Studying it could greatly assist the owner in understanding that profound ice law.

For a moment, Emery could not help imagining what it would mean if he could obtain such an artifact. Not only would it dramatically strengthen Klea’s cultivation, possessing a weapon capable of unleashing such power would also ensure that very few factions would dare provoke the Earth faction.

However, both Emery and Klea quickly dismissed the thought.

A tier-eight artifact with such a direct and devastating ability would command an unimaginable price. Even a rough estimate suggested it could easily exceed fifty thousand palace points, possibly far more depending on the bidding war.

What happened next was surprising.

The auctioneer invited a man forward—a grand magus who turned out to be the current patriarch of the Umbra faction.

The young looking patriarch bowed respectfully before addressing the hall. He explained that the statue had once protected their faction during a catastrophic in the past, but due to certain circumstances, they were now forced to part with their most treasured relic.

However, they were not asking for spirit stones or palace points.

Instead, they made a shocking request.

”We seek one Supreme elder who is willing to become our faction’s external elder for one thousand years.”

The intention was obvious.

The Umbra faction was willing to trade their most valuable treasure in exchange for long-term protection, ensuring their survival as a Grade-4 faction.

The hall immediately erupted with whispers.

Moments later, two VIP chambers above began to emit faint auras of interest.

The negotiations that followed were hidden from the public, but it did not take long before the Umbra patriarch revealed a satisfied expression.

The deal had been made.

Not only had the Umbra faction gained a Supreme guardian, but one who now possessed such a terrifying artifact.

Witnessing this exchange made Emery realize something important.

When it came to truly rare treasures, palace points alone were not always enough. Many owners preferred trading such artifacts for their own unique demands or for other rare treasures of equal value.

The auctioneer returned to the stage.

”Now, for the final item...”

By this point, Emery had already resigned himself to being nothing more than a spectator.

However, the moment the last treasure was revealed, his eyes suddenly widened.

It was a unique spirit weapon—one that seemed perfectly suited for him.
