Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2207: Vault Battle

Isaiah, one of the strongest warriors within the Karat faction, stood as a formidable force. Having reached the middle stage of the third cosmos, his prowess with the dagger was unparalleled. In the chaos that erupted, his dagger flew with fierce precision, piercing through multiple targets with devastating effect. The sudden, close proximity assault massacred the entire elite magus forces, ripping bodies apart and killing them instantly. Emery narrowly avoided the attack, his divine sense immediately assessing the aftermath. His primary concern was Tessa. His heart pounded as he saw her vulnerable position, but Lord Hassa, with swift reflexes, summoned his golden barrier just in time, shielding her from harm. However, this protective act left an opening, and two daggers found their mark, piercing the Lordʼs back.

Grand Magus Nayef, the spirit master, displayed his formidable abilities by stopping one of the daggers with a powerful spirit attack, creating an invisible barrier that deflected the lethal projectile. As for Grand Magus Starr, the commander of the palace guard barely manages to parry the dagger. His sword clanged against the blade, sparks flying from the impact. Despite his valiant effort, the dagger managed to strike his shoulder, leaving a deep, bleeding wound.

Tessaʼs screamed with hysteria as she saw the magus bodies and blood pouring from her fatherʼs back. However, despite the severe injury, Lord Hassa unleashed his domain power. The air around him crackled with energy as he turned the daggers embedded in his flesh into dust. Gritting his teeth against the pain, his eyes locked onto Isaiah with a gaze of steely resolve.

”You… Why did you betray us?”

Isaiah, allowed a small chuckle to escape his lips. ”For all the faction has done for me… I will tell you why,” he said with a mocking tone. ”Honestly… Iʼm just bored… hundreds of years of servitude…” His eyes wandered around the vault, taking in the treasure-laden room. ”This is just such a convenient timing for an exit.”

”Exit where?! The whole alliance will hunt you down!!”

Isaiah chuckled again, this time with more mirth as if Hassaʼs words amused him. ”My Lord… canʼt you see the chaos happening in the universe right now? These are all opportunities waiting to be taken!! I am so excited!! Finally, I could dream of reaching supremacy again!” It suddenly became clear to Lord Hassa. Isaiah, the leader of the 6th division responsible for espionage and gathering intelligence, had been the mastermind behind their current predicament. The absence of any warning about the pirate attack, and the escalating conflict between the brothers—it all pointed to Isaiahʼs treachery. Lord Hassa took a deep sigh and murmured, ”I guess my brother is right… I am a fool not to know your intention.”

Isaiahʼs lips curled into a sinister smile. ”Donʼt worry, My Lord,” he said with a chilling calmness. ”Your dear brother will also accompany you to the afterlife.”

At that moment, the armored skeletal creatures and towering giants had managed to close in around them. Ravi and the grand magus summoner stood on one side, their expressions cold and calculating, while Isaiah blocked the only way out, his stance confident and unyielding.

Emery, Nayef, and Starr moved into a defensive formation, positioning themselves to protect the wounded Lord Hassa. Their eyes scanned the encroaching enemies, each prepared for the fight of their lives. Lord Hassa turned to Emery, his voice strained yet resolute. ”Please protect my daughter.”

However, even as he spoke, a spasm of pain wracked his body, and he coughed up blood. The crimson liquid oozed from the wounds on his back, turning a sinister black, the same sickly hue spreading from the commanderʼs shoulder wound. It was poison, one of Isaiahʼs deadly specialties.

Isaiah seized the moment of vulnerability. ”Finish them!” he commanded, and the grand magus summoner responded instantly, launching a barrage of dark attacks.

The palace commander, despite his own injury, took up the protection task with fierce determination. Unleashing his sword domain, he created a massive arc of energy that sliced through a dozen skeletal warriors and deeply wounded several giants. Meanwhile, the spirit master focused on intercepting Isaiahʼs deadly flying daggers, using his spirit attacks to counter the lethal projectiles.

Tessa, overwhelmed by the chaos and the sight of her fatherʼs suffering, began to cry. Her tears mingled with the desperate energy in the room. Lord Hassa, panting and struggling to remain upright, reached out to her with a reassuring gaze. ”Donʼt you worry... the forces outside will come... We only need to...hold out as long as we can... I just need a minute to recover... just a few... minutes...”

Emery made a rapid assessment of the dire situation. Both Nayef and Starr, despite being two-cosmos grand magus, were struggling to contain Isaiahʼs relentless assault. Adding the grand magus summoners to the mix made their chances of success slim. Determined to turn the tide, Emery placed his hand on Lord Hassaʼs wound, casting his nature spell to expedite the neutralization of the poison. However, he quickly realized that his efforts were no match for Hassaʼs inherent grand magus realm recovery abilities.

”I appreciate the effort,” Lord Hassa murmured, his voice a strained whisper.

Undeterred, Emery didnʼt stop. Instead, he delved into his domain, retrieving a variety of ingredients. He swiftly began concocting an antidote, his fingers moving with practiced precision. He understood that their best chance of survival against the three-cosmos Isaiah lay in counteracting the poison. It was only a matter of time before everyone would be affected by the traitorʼs lethal toxins.

As Emery worked, his gaze flickered to Nayef. The spirit master was beginning to falter, fresh cuts marring his body from Isaiahʼs dagger attacks. The strain was evident in Nayefʼs eyes, and Emery knew he wouldnʼt be able to hold out much longer.

Creating a potion to completely cure the toxin was a tall order, but Emery didnʼt need a perfect solution—just something to resist long enough. With VIAʼs assistance and his extensive knowledge of poisons, he quickly modified one of his already-prepared pills. Working with precision, he enhanced it to maximize its efficacy against Isaiahʼs venom.

”What the hell is he doing?” Ravi sneered, noticing Emeryʼs focused efforts. Deciding to exploit the distraction, he waited for gaps between the commanderʼs movements and lunged at Emery, his high-grade sword gleaming with lethal intent. ”Die!”

Tessa quickly jumped in to stop the attack, but unfortunately, with her strength, such an act would only get her killed. At the critical moment, Emery unleashed a massive beast from his domain. The Golden Roc Eagle emerged, its impressive wingspan shielding them from the oncoming blow. ʀåΝȰ𝐁Ęȿ
