The Golem Mage

744: Evolution Continues.

The moment Alec finalized his choices, the metallic egg surrounding Legion expanded once again, almost instantly, the ten sub screens for Legion’s minions reappeared back , allowing him to now assign their classes.

Each golem maintained a humanoid form in their base state.

Wasting no time, Alec quickly made his selections, as he designated the first three as Attacker class, the next three as Tankers, the seventh and eighth as Supports, and the last two as Scouts.

As soon as the selections were confirmed, a random roulette appeared, cycling through special abilities corresponding to their assigned classes, when all ten minions had locked in an ability, another notification popped up, asking whether Alec wanted to choose their weapon specialty or allow them to decide for themselves.

Without hesitation, Alec left the decision to them, while he was a skilled player in his previous life, he wasn’t an expert in every weapon type.

If anything, he was most proficient with close-quarters weapons, those that prioritized high damage over rapid fire.

But he knew that wasn’t the only effective style, there were assault specialty, sniper specialty, missile specialty, guided weapon specialty, heavy weaponry specialty, and barrage-type specialty.

He wasn’t about to limit them based on his own preferences, so he let them choose while covering the cost.

As the ten screens displayed their finalized selections, a system prompt appeared that nearly made Alec’s eyes bulge.

[ 900,000 system points required to finalize class selection, weapon types, and weapon blueprints.

“Even with the system’s help, building a cyborg golem army isn’t coming cheap,” Alec muttered before pressing Yes with a sigh.

Alec had been burning through his system points at an alarming rate lately, but his only consolation was the sheer power Legion’s squad would bring after the evolution is completed.

If Titan and his group were already earning between half a million to a million system points from hunting Tier 6 demonic beasts, then with Legion’s new squad and their firepower, he could only hope his earnings would skyrocket even further.

The moment his finger left the Y button, confirming the purchase, another surge of ethereal energy was drawn from his body, marking the deduction of system points.

But that wasn’t all—various materials that were purchased out of the same system points materialized mid-air, floating toward the massive metallic egg encasing Legion.

Soon, ten other slightly smaller metallic eggs formed around Legion’s, revolving in synchronization as their evolution began.

With that process underway, Alec turned his attention to something else, and that is harvesting the Tier 6 demonic beast corpses provided by the Old Dean, with only just one day of four ancient primordial tree branches refining twenty corpses each, he had already extracted around 800 Tier 6 cultivation pills, and that wasn’t even counting the additional random spell cards, healing pills or memory orbs he would obtain.

So far, he had only refined 80 Tier 6 demonic beast corpses out of a hundred, yet the sheer amount of resources he was accumulating made him pause, feeling somewhat guilty about how little the academy would receive in comparison, he decided to add an extra 300 Tier 5 cultivation pills as a token of appreciation for the Dean’s efforts in securing so many Mid-Tier corpses.

Still, the fact that he would end up with over 700 Tier 5 and 6 cultivation pills was staggering.

His plan was to auction off only 50 pills of each tier, and since he was not trying to strengthen the rivals of his clan in the Estonia city, he was keen not to make them the sole beneficiary of the auction.

To spread the opportunity, Alec looked into hiring news bearers to travel to two nearby cities that were in the process of rebuilding, spreading the word about the upcoming auction, with top-quality cultivation pills being the highlighted deal.

And even after all that, he would still be left with over 650 pills of both Tier 5 and 6 pills without even factoring in his other earnings.

The sheer scale of it all was mind-blowing.

All Alec wanted was to discreetly pass about two hundred of these pills, along with some random spell cards, to the clan without causing a scene with his grandfather.

Strengthening the Gordon Clan was a priority for him, after all, if they were going to host such a large-scale auction, they needed not only the power to protect their merchandise but also the capability to fend off potential threats.

It was inevitable that some opportunists would assume the clan had kept the best pills for themselves if they could auction off such good pills and might attempt a raid on the clan house.

This was why Alec was adamant not to allow his grandfather to store any of the pills he was about to give him in the treasury.

Instead, they needed to be distributed among the eligible mages to ensure rapid advancement across the clan, he also planned to use pills as incentives to discipline and motivate his newly formed Mage Army, though only after he had firmly established himself as the sole commander, leaving no room for questions about his authority.

As for the remaining pills, Alec had no intention of parting with them.

He was still just a Tier 5 Mage, and if anything, he needed them the most, as reaching the peak of the Tier 5 realm or the Tier 6 Mage realm do required an enormous amount of energy, but thanks to his system, he wasn’t constrained by the usual residual build-up from pills.

Unlike other mages, whose foundations could become unstable from excessive pill consumption, Alec’s system automatically converted everything into experience points while ensuring the right amount of energy was safely integrated into his body.

As long as he continued to exhaust any excess build-up, his foundation would remain solid, growing stronger and more stable with every breakthrough.
