The Golem Mage

The Back to Sand spell was one of the simplest earth element spells, so basic that High rank earth elemental mages often dismissed it as useless, but for someone like Brandon, who had gained sand control after his Earth Manipulation reached the first stage, this spell was like a godsend gift from the heavens.

It allowed him to break down hardened earth surfaces and return them to their original form, sand.

In the next moment, Brandon had already gathered a swirling mass of sand around him, this was no ordinary sand, either, since he had extracted it from bricks with anti-repair properties, the sand itself seemed to have mutated.

It exuded an oppressive energy that coursed through its grains, enhancing its potential while Brandon focused on controlling it.

Lost in his manipulation of the sand, Brandon didn’t notice the harpy-like winged demon closing in on him.

The creature took its chance seeing Brandon in a trance, as it unleashed its first attack, a sharp, piercing screech that condensed into a deadly sound wave racing toward Brandon.

But before the attack could reach him, a portion of the sand broke away from the swirling mass and formed a semi-circular shield.

The sound wave clashed with the sand shield, nearly destroying it, but it was enough to snap Brandon out of his trance, as he glanced at the remnants of the shield, its edges crumbling under the strain of the attack.

With a swift motion of his hand, Brandon sent a few strands of his Mana flying and activating the sand’s anti-regenerative properties, repairing the damage and fortifying its structure.

At the same time, he began moving forward to confront the harpy, with the sand surging above his head like a living entity, ready to follow his every command as he prepared to counter the demon’s next move.

If anyone glanced in Brandon’s direction now, they would see a swirling cloud of sand hovering around him, following his every move like a loyal companion.

With a powerful punch, Brandon sent a massive sand fist lunging forward, which mirrored his motion.

The winged demon tried to cast a defensive spell, but the sand fist smashed into its elemental shield with such force that the shield cracked and shattered into fragments.

Brandon didn’t stop there, as he closed the distance in an instant, he launched a relentless barrage of punches at the harpy.

With its formidable defence gone, the demon was reduced to little more than a helpless target.

Gripping the harpy’s shoulder tightly with his left hand, Brandon rained down blows with his right, his fist encased in hardened sand.

And protruding from the sand-covered fist were five sharp spikes, each strike tearing through the demon’s flesh.

Every punch left deep, gaping holes in the harpy’s body, and his attack speed was so overwhelming that even the demon’s regenerative abilities couldn’t keep up with how fast it was incurring injuries.

Satisfied with his work, Brandon took a step back and stretched his hand behind him, preparing for the finishing blow.
