The Golem Mage

676: Infernal Mantle 2.

The forging process lasted for over five hours before it finally concluded, while this might seem like a long time, it hadn’t felt that way for Alec; he felt incredibly fortunate to have the system at his disposal.

In comparison, it would take other forgers days to create even a single piece of Tier 5 equipment, it was clear that the system provided a significant advantage, making it much easier for Alec to acquire his equipment set before the final match.

If he had waited for a forger in the real world to craft it for him instead, it would likely take weeks, and by then, the finals would have long since concluded.

Alec continued to stare at his new equipment, which was levitating before him as if lifted by an invisible force, he found himself in a daze until the system reminded him that he was wasting time.

[> Ding!]

[Drop a drop of blood on the equipment set to link with it.]

Seeing this message made Alec feel embarrassed; he knew he needed to link with the spirit equipment set, but he had been so engrossed in the sight before him that he had lost sight of the crucial next step after its creation.

He pointed his right index finger at his left palm, igniting his sword Qi at the tip before slicing into his skin, once successful, he slapped his left palm onto the levitating Gear in front of him.

As he did this, the equipment shone with an even brighter light before it began to merge into Alec’s body.

If anyone had witnessed this moment, they would have seen it as him absorbing the equipment.

Within ten seconds, the equipment, still shrouded in blinding light, completely disappeared into Alec.

With his hand still outstretched, he looked down and saw a brand new runic tattoo stretching from his hand across the rest of his body.

The tattoo covered him entirely, marking his success.

[Fused with Infernal Mantle Set (Tier 5)]

Seeing this brought a smile to Alec’s face as he tried to will the tattoos away, and they disappeared into his skin as if they were never there.

Unlike the tattoos of his soul beast that is linked with the Devourer bloodline, he could retract the tattoo of his spirit equipment set at will.

Just looking at all the bonuses from the new equipment set left Alec’s mouth agape; he couldn’t believe his eyes.

He rubbed them again, staring at the information presented by the system.

“Whoa!” Alec muttered, still in shock, he had expected a significant upgrade when creating a new equipment set, but he hadn’t anticipated such an overpowered item.

Although Alec was aware that anything granted to him by the system often ended up in the overpowered category of its level, this exceeded even his expectations.

The new gift he had just received seemed to be the pinnacle of all Tier 5 equipment set in his eyes, he had seen Vincent’s Tier 5 armour and weapons; although the sword, the chained kunai, and armour weren’t a complete set and couldn’t augment each other’s powers, but they were still all Tier 5 spirit equipment in their own right.

And they pushed Vincent’s stats to an abnormal level, enabling him to overpower Dragov in his first form transformation.

After observing the impressive stats of his own equipment set, Alec was certain even without knowing the specifics of Vincent’s gears that his own was far superior to any other Tier 5 spirit equipment that has been used at the inter academy competition so far.

He couldn’t tell if this was due to the system, which allowed him to utilize the system points he had earned to recreate great forgers, or if it was simply because everything he crafted was a unique complete equipment set, that offered more bonuses than individual pieces of equipment.

At that moment, however, he didn’t care much for the specifics; he was just eager to see how he looked in his new spirit equipment set.

Alec reached out to connect with the spirit equipment, and the tattoo that had disappeared reappeared with its runic patterns covering his body, he slowly became enveloped in what looked like black leather armour,( more of a mana reinforced cloth than an armour)

The armour wasn’t entirely black; the shoulders were adorned with striking red stripes, and the cufflinks were a rich brown, symbolizing the earth element.

The pants were also black, featuring red and black patterns along the sides, giving Alec the appearance of an elegant mage for the first time in spirit equipment.

Even when he previously wore the red salamander equipment set, it had made him look more like a warrior than a mage.

As the body transformation completed, the gloves finally materialized, covering his hands.

Unlike the armour, the gloves were entirely red and had five small dull orbs attached to them,( resembling mini versions of the infinity stones, circular in shape and also devoid of colour.)

As the glove completely enveloped his hand, a cape( veil of ashes) appeared behind Alec, It was a deep, blood-red colour and seemed to move of its own accord before attaching itself to Alec’s back.

The cape adjusted perfectly, blending seamlessly with the rest of his gear, ensuring it didn’t hinder his movements.

Once the equipment was fully in place, Alec felt a surge of energy coursing through him.

Power filled him, yet he felt light and free, as if nothing could hold him back, he couldn’t help but admire the new equipment, loving its feel even before testing it in battle.

Slowly, Alec made his way to the water mirror at the side of the room to get a better look of himself.

Not only did the gear make him appear more elegant, but it also seemed to amplify his charm, however, as he stared at his reflection, something caught him off guard.

“Oh, shit!” he muttered, realizing what had changed again, his hair.

The top was now completely red, while the bottom transitioned into a shade of black.

It resembled a striking crew cut, with the two colours sharply dividing his head.

Alec let out a frustrated sigh, as he thought why he was always cursed with these bizarre hair transformations along with his gear and intents manifesting.

He wanted the powers that the gears gave him, minus the endless changes to his hair appearance.

It was frustrating, especially since most people assumed he was responsible for the changes in his hair just to look cool, oblivious to the fact that he had no control over it.
