The Golem Mage

The match between the Bloodline Academy and the Battlemage academy was undeniably interesting and intense, but for some, it didn’t end the way they had hoped or predicted.

Agnes from the War God Academy team was still struggling to analyse Dragov’s second transformation form, after the responsibility of collecting information on the teams they were meant to face fell onto her, all because their coordinator wasn’t particularly invested in doing her job.

Even after watching the match’s final moments, Agnes felt it was too brief to draw any meaningful conclusions about Dragov’s last form.

It was clear that he couldn’t overpower Vincent when they were at the same power level; Vincent’s weapon mastery and combat experience taught Dragov that strength alone wasn’t everything.

Recognizing that he might actually lose if he continued to fight on even ground, Dragov had then transformed into his second form, which propelled him into the Tier 6 Mage realm and allowed him to decisively overpower Vincent.

This echoed the notion among mages that, in the face of absolute power, all other skills become meaningless.

With Dragov gaining a significant level advantage that Vincent could not match, the latter could only wait for his elimination.

Many fans of the Battle Mage Academy felt disheartened by the loss, engaging in heated debates in pubs and when they encountered fans of the Bloodline Academy, they argued that “Vincent could have defeated Dragov and the only reason Dragov won was because of his incredible Bloodline.”

They claimed that if Vincent had received proper support from the academy and had Tier 6 equipment, the outcome might have been different.

Despite their protests, the fans of the Bloodline Academy simply laughed at their arguments, labelling them as sore losers who couldn’t accept that their captain had been defeated in mere seconds after Dragov transformed into his second state.

In truth, the critics were not entirely wrong; the Bloodline that they dismissed as an advantage was, in fact, a core part of Dragov’s abilities, something he owed to no one, it was his own power.

They were just trying to overlook the fact that he was a bloodline mage, and not a regular spellcasting Mage all in the name of justifying their debate.

Aside from that, if Dragov hadn’t been so intent on having fun, the fight would have been over before it even began.

Had he transformed into his second form at the start of the match, the entire Battle Mage Academy team would have been helpless against his power, but that was all in the past now.

“You did well!” the coordinator of the Bloodline Academy exclaimed as Dragov walked into their quarters with the rest of the team, this caused Dragov to lift his head; his calm and gentle expression contrasted sharply with what he had shown just moments earlier.

“You don’t need to sugar-coat it.

I know my flaws better than anyone.

I’m still lacking a proper combat style.

As long as I can’t master one, every time I encounter another genius at my level, I’ll have to rely on my Bloodline to overpower them.” Dragov smiled weakly as he spoke.

“That can’t be considered doing well!” he added.

“Even when you say that, you don’t believe it yourself.

You might fool others, but I see through your intentions.

The reason you seek out strong and talented mages to fight like a maniac is that you’re honing your skills,” the coordinator replied.

“With each fight, your control of mana and mastery of your weapon grow—slowly, and now you are undoubtedly stronger than the arrogant genius version of you, who entered the academy believing he could reach the peak solely through the strength of his Bloodline.”

“I know you’ll soon master your own combat style, one that’s exclusive to you, and when that happens, displays like this one will never happen again; you may even become invincible.”

“And with your Bloodline added into the mix, I wouldn’t be surprised if you started challenging those in higher realms,” the coordinator continued, as Dragov chuckled lightly before dragging himself and his great sword to the training room.

A few encouraging words from his coordinator weren’t the only motivation for him to resume honing his swordsmanship; the spark of inspiration he had felt while fighting Vincent played a significant role as well.

Seeing how Vincent attacked and moved had sparked some ideas in Dragov about how he could develop his own skills, and he was eager to capitalize on that moment rather than wait any longer.

Meanwhile, at the War God Academy team quarters, Alec quickly dove straight into his room as soon as they entered, ignoring the new Dean’s attempt to discuss matters with him.

The sight of Alec slamming his door shut after inscribing a “Do Not Disturb” sign with mana made the new Dean feel as if Alec was intentionally avoiding him.

However, Alec was simply excited to check out his weapon and get started on crafting his new spirit equipment set.

In fact, if he had known what the new Dean thought of him, he wouldn’t have minded the situation; as he wasn’t particularly eager to talk to him either.

It even ranks among the Heavenly Divine Weapons.

Although it may be damaged now, it can drain the blood of enemies it kills to repair itself.]

[ × : Try to repair it quickly; aren’t you eager to unleash the full power of a divine weapon?]

After Alec finished reading the description of the Blood Changdao, he couldn’t help but laugh at the system spirit’s comment.

He then realized that the first seal of the Blood Changdao resembled a particular ability of Damien, the vice captain of the Bloodline Academy.

Given that one of the materials used to create the Changdao was blood from High-Rank Vampires, and that Damien’s bloodline structure aligned with the vampire lineage, he understood why there were some similarities.

Additionally, the weapon appeared sharper; as the end of the blade looked as if it had been reforged, slightly curved to provide a better cutting edge.

There was a long streak of red that ran through the blade, and Alec felt a faint pulling sensation from that section, as if it would unleash its power when he called upon it.

After confirming the sword’s evolution, he shifted his focus to the next task at hand: crafting his armour.
