“I hope you know that Dorian is only the representative heir of the Voss family, if you truly want the clan to take you seriously, you’ll need to defeat all four representatives of the next generation,” Morgana said as she finally took her battle stance.

“Well, I believe that as long as I’ve dealt with the favoured representative, the rest won’t pose much of a problem for me,” Maria declared as she finally made her move, swinging her blade toward Morgana.

Causing dark slashes to fly toward Morgana, who skillfully parried them away before kicking off the ground to close the distance between them.

“Just one important question, though, you claim you’ve come to challenge my brother, yet here you are fighting me.

Not only that, but you’re extremely weak.”

“ If I feel this way, Dorian would feel it too and in a normal match he would be able to decimate you in mere seconds,” Maria said, trying to maintain a conversation with Morgana as if they weren’t trying to kill each other.

“You see, even you think I’m weak, which means before I fight the main boss, I should first confront the mini-boss.

Only then will I be ready to face your brother, and let’s not pretend you’re weaker than him,” Morgana replied.

“Talent-wise, he might surpass you in the necromancer path, but we both know you’d crush him in close combat.

In the Dark Clan codex battle, only your battle power speaks for itself—no summons allowed.

That’s why I believe you’re a better fit than him to represent your family, this respect I have developed for you is why I’m fighting you first.”

“I’m against the injustice done to you, because you’re a girl, your rights were passed to your younger brother, and his talents were nurtured more while you were left to grow at your own pace, evening having to suppress yourself “ Maria said.

This caused Morgana, who was dashing toward her, to fall into deep thought.

Though they might be enemies, but it was clear that such thoughts had crossed her mind before, the fact that Maria voiced them made Morgana feel a sense of gratitude that her talent was recognized, even if it was by a banished family member.

Boom!

But Morgana was quickly jolted back to reality when she attempted to defend against a dark matter ball sent forth by Maria, only for it to explode in her face, sending her airborne.

Fortunately she had swiftly regained her footing, with a small smile playing on her lips as she looked ahead to catch a glimpse of Maria’s face, partially revealed as the night wind gently tugged at her veil.

“I underestimated you there, you’re good!

So I’ll be taking this seriously now.

Come at me!” Maria declared, as she begin to twirl her dagger and summon the rest of her spirit equipment set.

Under the moonlight, the internal codex battles of the Dark Clan, that has been long forgotten to the people of the Northern Kingdom due to years of peace, reignited.

And this time, only two people bore witness to the spectacle of high-level control over dark elements.

The first was Beatrice Marionette, who had been peering over a fence, and the second was Brandon Gordons, sitting cross-legged on the roof.

He had climbed out of his room window to cultivate under the moonlight, only to discover the unfolding events in the neighbouring quarters, which Intrigued him, so he decided to watch.

# Inside the Beast Forest

The beast wave paused for a few seconds, observing the massive sand pool being manipulated into a spherical shape.

Blood dripped to the ground in large quantities with each passing second.

Alec had annihilated all the unfortunate beasts caught in his attack that he casted just to kill the ice bears.

The Peak Tier 5 Arctic Bear, enraged by the loss of its minions, lunged at Alec, spurring the beast wave army to resume their assault with renewed confidence.

The massive body of the Arctic Bear soared through the air.

Alec realized that he had to stop the bear, he had to prevent it from completing its leap, as letting it complete the leaping would compromise the defense line that Butcher and the other Golems were struggling to maintain.

Alec dashed forward, by manipulating his mana to propel himself.

Just before they clashed, he unsheathed his blood Changdao.

The moment he summoned the weapon, Alec reached deep within himself to access the mana flowing through his body, ensuring it passed through the beating heart of red and black flames that represented his fire element.

After doing so, he channelled the flaming energy into the blade, transforming it into a fiery weapon that flickered like it was alight.

Without hesitation, he unleashed a swift horizontal slash toward the beast’s claw strike, which was accompanied by a claw Qi attack.

His horizontal strike sent forth a crescent-shaped flaming slash that collided with the claw Qi before it could travel any farther.

Bang!

An explosion erupted upon impact, sending the bear flying back due to its close proximity to the blast.

However, being a demonic beast with high endurance, it was clear that such an attack wouldn’t injure it significantly.

As it raised its head, the bear spotted Alec’s Changdao hurtling toward it in a direct trajectory, as if Alec were attempting to impale one of its eyes.

Feeling underestimated, it swatted at the blade with a powerful backhand, altering its course as it let out a roar that dissipated some of the smoke from the explosion.

“That was a very bad mistake!” Alec shouted, a smirk spreading across his face as he emerged from the billowing smoke.

In his left hand, he held a long scythe made of pure blood.
