The Golem Mage

Chapter 294: Wolven Tide Relic

And just like that, history repeated itself as Alec tossed Agnes’ ever-changing staff into the carcass of the new set of wolf remains, with another Alpha Wolf as the core.

He had exchanged for the Alpha wolves with the bodies of numerous wolves that were killed by Arthur and the others, and since James saw it as a good deal he had no problems accepting.

However, this time Alec noticed that the Visual Clone crafting the armor set was not the visual clone of the dwarf who had previously crafted knight’s own armor.

This revelation made him instinctively turn his attention back to the system spirit golem.

”Hey, what’s with the intense stare? It’s quite unnerving!”

”Seriously, man, just explain to me why the visual clone crafting Agnes’ armor set looks completely different than the old one, And why does this clone resemble a goblin so much?”

”Do goblins even know how to forge?”

Alec questioned, his confusion evident as he recalled the dim-witted goblins he had encountered, and killed on the battlefield.

As his imagination struggled to reconcile these images

”What do you mean?, The system only assigned the previous clone to forge the armor because they knew that only a skilled dwarf could create something of such high quality for a Knight.”

”The same goes for this goblin, The system has knowledge of all their techniques, so it wouldn’t have any trouble recognizing their specialties, and knowing the perfect Forger for each person.”

”And how dare you underestimate goblins!, Despite their primitive nature, they have produced numerous skilled forgers, They are the second-best race in forging, right after the dwarves, and they also excel in alchemy, second only to the elves.”

”The goblins are beloved by Mother Earth, but due to their stupidity and chaotic tendencies, more than 90% of them never reach their full potential and remain mere warriors and foot soldiers. It’s quite a pity,”

the system spirit expressed with a disappointed shake of its golem head.

Alec was taken aback by this new revelation.

Not only were goblins skilled in forging, but they also possessed talents in alchemy.

Intrigued, he decided to observe the goblin forger closely, wanting to understand what made him so special that even the system believed they were the perfect candidate to handle Agnes’ spirit equipment set.

After hours of observation, Alec came to realize that both forgers followed different paths in their crafting techniques, despite sharing the basic foundation of forging.

The stark differences in appearance indicated just how far these grandmaster forgers had pushed the boundaries of their craft.

What changed everything was the recreation of the wand.

Alec had expected it to either shatter or be completely recreated, but none of that happened when the Goblin visual clone extended its hand and conjured a rune pen out of the milky white light emanating from Alec’s body.

Carefully, the Goblin engraved various rune words onto the wand’s surface.

Once finished, it infused some of the milky white light into the wand, transforming it into its magical staff form.

Confusion washed over Alec as he listened to the Goblin clone chanting in its ancient tongue.

”Is it just me, or does this look like a ritual being performed on the staff?”

”Shhh, speak softly or you might disrupt the process. Look, it’s attempting to enchant the staff by performing one of its race rituals,”

the system spirit hushed, emphasizing the importance of silence.

”I’m certain the clone already engraved water and earth element runes on the wand. All that’s left is to summon those two elements, allowing them to accept and assimilate a portion of their energy into the staff, thereby acknowledging it as an Armament of the respective elements.” The system spirit explained

Alec remained quiet, captivated by the process unfolding before him.

After several more hours, the forging was complete, and the Goblin visual clone vanished.

Exhausted from the eventful day, Alec decided to rest before presenting Agnes with her gift the following day, feeling that he truly deserved the break.

But first, he was eager to examine the new set’s statistics.

”The stats on this set are unbelievably good!”

Alec exclaimed in excitement.

He realized that Agnes’ set was just as formidable as his own Knight’s set, and together, they would be a force to be reckoned with, capable of taking on numerous Tier 3 mages, just like him when when he is on his Salamander set.

Although he felt a pang of jealousy at the thought of all these incredible items he had to distribute, Alec reminded himself that he was doing it for his team’s benefit.

He understood that he stood to gain the most in the future by equipping them with such powerful armor.

So, he let go of his envy and focused on his plans to maximize the gains from the armor, even if it meant using his siblings till he get the worth of the spirit equipment, till the very last coin.

Lost in his thoughts, he rhythmically rubbed his hands together in ecstasy until he was abruptly whacked on the back of his head.

Startled, he turned to the system spirit in confusion.

”Why did you do that?”

The system spirit sighed and pointed at Alec.

”Your brother Arthur was right when he said you have an evil expression when you get excited, Even I, as a golem, felt uneasy. Please don’t do that near me again.”

Alec was taken aback by the comment.

”Am I really that scary?” he pondered silently as fatigue engulfed him, causing him to drift into a well-deserved slumber.
