Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1257: Good Things Need to be Shared Among Friends!

Nelson finally couldn’t tolerate it anymore, especially every time Myth of Reverend used the word ‘friend!’ His eyes burned with fury, and there wasn’t any need to hide it anymore since all the pretense was meaningless at this point.

He coldly questioned, “What do you want, Myth of Reverend?”

The room became silent as the Myth of Reverend blinked, and then he looked genuinely hurt by Nelson’s tone.

His hand moved to his chest as his expression became sorrowful, “Ouch. Straight to business? Not even a greeting?”

But then, suddenly, he smiled again, “At least ask how I found you. Since I was expecting more than a little surprise from you.”

His eyes twinkled mischievously, “Perhaps you finally realized our hearts are connected?”

Nelson felt his blood pressure rise, yet despite his hatred, he remained calm, for he knew the Myth of Reverend was many things, but one thing he wasn’t…was careless and impetuous.

Nelson coldly replied, “I don’t need to ask since you left something behind.”

The Myth of Reverend’s eyebrows rose, “Oh?”

Nelson continued, “When we escaped. You had access to the ship, so it wouldn’t be difficult for someone like you to plant a hidden virus or spell.”

His gaze sharpened, “Don’t forget we are the Star Hackers; it’s not difficult to achieve a similar result using something related to the Star Hackers, like a specialized tracking method.”

Suddenly, he paused with a hint of frustration and his eyes narrowed, “Though if even I couldn’t find it…then it was probably your own creation.”

For the first time since the conversation began…the Myth of Reverend appeared genuinely impressed. His eyes widened slightly, and then he applauded.

‘Clap…Clap…Clap…’

“Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful.” The Myth of Reverend laughed softly, “You almost guessed everything.”

Nelson remained expressionless as the Myth of Reverend nodded approvingly.

“It was indeed a tracking method. And yes…it belongs to me.” He smiled, “Though there is one tiny detail you’re missing.”

Nelson didn’t respond as the Myth of Reverend leaned forward slightly as if about to tell him a secret.

“In truth, this method requires faith.” His smile deepened, “A very special kind of faith.”

Nelson’s eyes narrowed while the Myth of Reverend looked delighted, as if liking the former’s expression.

“Oh? You don’t understand? And here I thought you had reached a similar realm as I… how unfortunate!” But then, with complete sincerity, he added, “If you’d like, I could teach you. I’ve always thought you’d make an excellent follower of my ‘Lord’.”

The moment those words left his mouth, Nelson nearly laughed, not because it was funny, but because the absurdity was unbelievable.

After everything, after all the manipulation, all the schemes, the Myth of Reverend still wanted to recruit him. It was plain insanity, or perhaps confidence.

Either way, Nelson wasn’t buying it, not for a second, especially after learning about the mortal enmity between the Blissful Everlife God and ATLAS. Not to mention Nelson didn’t believe for a moment the Blissful Everlife God was powerful enough to go against his patron God.

After all, the Blissful Everlife God seemed to be hiding from ATLAS, and didn’t dare to reveal itself, so Nelson, despite his inner resentment towards his patron God, still preferred to be with ATLAS.

However, he had no plan to reveal this point to the Myth of Reverend, since the latter might decide to get rid of him once the Myth of Reverend felt threatened by him.

He replied as his voice became colder, “What. Do. You. Want?”

This time, there was no room for jokes, no room for games, or for the Myth of Reverend’s usual theatrics.

The Myth of Reverend stared at him quietly, the smile never disappeared, but something changed; something subtle, and dangerous.

At this moment, he sighed, As expected, you’ve become boring.”

The Myth of Reverend leaned back comfortably, and the playful atmosphere vanished.

For the first time since appearing, his eyes carried a trace of seriousness and a chilly intent as he spoke, “Very well. You want to know why I’m here?”

Nelson remained silent; the Myth of Reverend smiled, then spoke softly, instantly causing the entire room to freeze.

“I want to make a deal.”

The moment those words fell, Nelson’s heart sank because if there was one thing more dangerous than the Myth of Reverend making threats while smiling…it was the Myth of Reverend being willing to negotiate.

But Nelson’s mind instantly raced, and a brilliant light flashed past them, because if the Myth of Reverend wanted to negotiate, that usually meant he already had something nobody else did, and it could be only something important enough for the latter to use his trump card he left in their spaceship.

Nelson finally felt like he had room to breathe, and he could still take the initiative, but he didn’t dare to underestimate the Myth of Reverend. After all, since the latter was willing to give the former the advantage, he might have other contingencies in place.

Moreover, there was still the matter of Faceless Ancient and the task of ATLAS that would require the Myth of Reverend’s ‘help’.

Nelson impassively nodded, “Alright, I’m willing to hear you out.”

The Myth of Reverend’s smile widened as if mocking Nelson’s calm demeanor, as he casually said, “You’ve been inside the Sagittarius Continent for a while now, which means you are up to date with the current development. So, you should also know about the sudden, bizarre behavior of the Undead Skyfall, making all the Undead Armies retreat back into the Undead Skyfall Canyons.

“So, the deal I want to make with you is simple: give me all the information about this event with proof, and give me the location of the Cursed One. In return, I’ll leave a way out for you and your family once this is over!”

Nelson’s eyes flickered subtly as he thought, ‘As expected, he already found out about the Undead Skyfall’s retreat, and also wants the Cursed One location since he let me retreat here because of the Cursed One in the first place. If it was before, I would’ve been reluctant, but now…’

Nelson almost laughed out loud with ecstasy because the Myth of Reverend just made everything he thought would be complicated straightforward, and he didn’t even need to make things up.

After all, from the start, Nelson wanted Myth of Reverend to provoke Jacob and make him suffer in the same way he did in the past and even right now.

A terrifying killing intent rose in Nelson’s heart as he thought maliciously, ‘Since you want the Cursed One, I’ll give you the real Cursed One for good things need to be shared among friends!’
