Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1036: Finale of Flames! (3)

Vortigash basted into the flaming wall of the arena.

At the last moment, Vortigash’s armor protected him from getting a huge hole in his chest. Nonetheless, Vortigash’s armor was now filled with cracks, and a few pieces around his chest had fallen.

But Vortigash didn’t care because right now, the divine flame within him was on the verge of breaking free and going berserk.

At this moment, Jacob’s figure appeared in front of Vortigash, and the latter quickly opened his mouth, ”Wa-it...cough...cough...” But his words obstructed violent coughing as blood gushed from his mouth.

Jacob scoffed and threw another punch imbued with void law towards Vortigash’s head, and at this moment, Vortigash sensed the impending death!

”Bang!”

The punch directly landed on Vortigash’s head, and a horn on his head directly broke with void law, and after a violent shock, Vortigash’s body went limp. However, he still wasn’t dead.

Nonetheless, Jacob didn’t want to kill Vortigash, and he knew how tough Vortigash’s body was, and now that he had beaten Vortigash to a half-dead state, he could detain Vortigash in the Infinite Space!

Jacob also felt a violent fluctuation rising from the depth of Vortigash’s body as if something terrifying was about to break free. Without wasting any time, Jacob held Vortigash and sent him into the Infinite Space.

Although Jacob didn’t know about Divine Flames and their nature, he knew that as long as they entered the Infinite Space, no matter how powerful they were, they would be suppressed along with their owner.

Once Vortigash vanished, Jacob was relieved, ”It’s finally over. I’ll deal with him later...”

At this moment, the ancient voice sounded,

”Trial of Blazing Flames has been concluded!

”The Flame Willed has appeared!

”The Temple of the Blazing Flames will be opened for Flame Willed!

”You have only one chance to inherit the Divine Inheritance: Yang Flame!

”If you fail, you will never be given another chance!

”Now enter the Temple of Blazing Flames!”

The moment the voice faded away, a huge pillar of golden flames descended in the center of the arena, revealing an imposing gate. The gate slowly opened, revealing a pitch-black pathway.

’Only one chance?’ Jacob’s eyes flickered as he looked at the open gate.

Nonetheless, Jacob returned to his two-meter-tall stature and moved towards the pathway. However, this time Jacob didn’t take a risk and summoned, ”Cursed Immortality!”

The cursed book manifested, and a familiar yet eerie maniacal laughter sounded in Jacob’s head, instantly annoying him.

”Hahaha...now that was a good show. How about doing it often in the future?” Immortika playfully suggested.

”Cut the crap.” Jacob coldly replied, ”Tell me about the Divine Flame and that ram-ling in my pendant.”

Jacob asked as he stopped in front of the gate, and at this moment, Immortika replied, ”Hehe, well, I wasn’t expecting someone with Divine Flame to intrude on the Middle Plains. Furthermore, you even captured that Celestial Ram of the Celestial Flame Clan, with his Divine Flame intact. Hahahaha, just thinking about how those guys from the Celestial Flame Clan would die of anger after losing their Divine Flame makes me want to see their faces. Hahahaha!”

Jacob’s eyes flickered as he got many clues from Immortika’s jeering, and asked, ”Celestial Ram? So that’s his race. Furthermore, you seemed to know about this Celestial Flame Clan, and the Divine Flame seemed quite important.”

”Of course, the Divine Flame is important. Since you have now acquired a Divine Flame, I can reveal some information about it to you.

”Divine Flames are unique natural treasures of Zodiac Plains, and they are born in unique locations of the Upper Plains. They are just like the Legendary Vestiges of Middle Plains, but rarer and more precious.

”A Divine Flame is critical for a God with Nine Crown Ring Celestial Astrolabe, and once it appeared, you can only imagine what kind of storm it could stir. Furthermore, a Divine Flame never dies even after a God’s fall; it’ll continue to exist.

”As for Quasi-Divine Flames, they are known as Mythical Flames, a lesser version of Divine Flames. Born through the same process but failed to evolve into a True Divine Flame for various reasons.

”Nonetheless, even a Mythical Flame is highly sought after by Lesser Gods and Higher Gods because it can raise their prowess by a large margin, and each Mythical Flame has a unique Mythical Ability. Lastly, a Mythical Flame is mediatory for a true Mythical Rank Alchemist. You’ll learn about them once you enter the Upper Plains.

”Moreover, there are unique rankings of Divine Flames and Mythical Flames, and each has different titles. The higher a Divine Flame or Mythical Flame is ranked in those rankings, the more powerful abilities and traits they have, not to mention their firepower. Hehe, now you tell me if a Divine Flame is important or not?” Immortika playfully snickered at Jacob’s stunned demeanor.

Jacob quickly snapped out of his stupor and raised more questions, ”A Divine Flame is crucial for a God with a Nine-Crown Ring Celestial Astrolabe? You mean six crown rings more than a Mythical Emperor?

”Then how did this guy get his hands on it, and how did he control it? Furthermore, from your words, even a Mythical Flame isn’t easy to subdue or control, but those Flame Acolytes were able to do it. Not to mention I devour so many of them, yet I didn’t feel any profound change except for my concept of Fire Law.”

Immortika scoffed before replying, ”Valid point, but let me tell you, those so-called Flame Acolytes were mere wisps of their true selves, just like the Wisp of Zodiacs you encountered in the Path of Legends. Furthermore, the unique flames they were using were actually fragments of the Divine Flames that they had once controlled.

”Moreover, those fragments were further reduced to match a Quasi-Myth’s power. So, even after you eat those crumbs, you won’t get anything except for an understanding of Fire Law. If they were using the full power of a Mythical Flame, you would’ve been forced to use a Jinx just like you did at the end.”

Jacob was incredulous as a sudden realization struck him at this moment, ”Wait, what are you implying is...?”

”Hehehehe, smart. That ram-face was only one 1% of his Divine Flame power, which was akin to a Mythical Flame, ranked within the 80s, full power. That’s why your soul force was instantly torn apart like paper.

”If not for the Jinx of Shattered Providence, and he had lost control of the suppressed Divine Flame, and used all of his power to keep it in check, it wouldn’t be your turn to win unless you’ve used a wish.

”As for how that Celestial Ram was able to acquire that Divine Flame and even suppress it to his will, that’s up to you to figure out. But let me give you a hint, since you put on a show.

”The Celestial Flame Clan is a part of Angelic Races, and the Zodiac Enforcer that you encountered last time was also part of a race that belonged to Angelic Races!”
