Lord of the Truth

1076  The uncle joining in

BOOM BOOM!

Robin crossed his arms over his chest, his piercing gaze fixed on the battlefield ahead. Despite being a central figure in the ongoing chaos, he had refrained from lifting a finger for the past few minutes, quietly observing the unfolding carnage.

At the heart of the battle, Pythor was locked in a savage fight against six silver soul creatures— the same creatures he had destroyed not long ago.

As a Soul Master, Robin had a distinct advantage: as long as the initial soul of a summoned soul creature remained intact within his soul domain, it didnʼt matter how many times its physical manifestation was destroyed. He could easily summon it again. However, each re-summoning cost him an enormous amount of Soul Units.

”HSSSS!”

Pythor hissed violently, spewing forth a deadly cloud of corrosive poison toward one of the silver creatures. The soul creature barely had a chance to react before disintegrating entirely.

”....”

Robinʼs brow twitched in frustration. Ever since Pythor had suffered the catastrophic injury that shattered his lower jaw and gouged out one of his eyes —at the cost of destroying the six silver soul creatures and the ten mighty swords alongside them— he had regenerated himself with terrifying speed using a massive surge of life energy. Now, his rampage had only grown fiercer. In the time since, Pythor had managed to destroy more than a dozen of Robinʼs soul creatures.

This wasnʼt the only drain on Robinʼs resources. Between sustaining Hovenheim and the other 102 soul beasts, his Spirit Unit consumption was spiraling out of control. He could feel his reserves dwindling rapidly—barely 20,000 units remained, perhaps even less.

BAM!

One of the silver soul creatures, resembling a giant mole with a single horn jutting from its forehead, lunged at Pythorʼs neck while the serpent was distracted. The horn managed to pierce one of Pythorʼs protective scales.

”HSSSSS!”

Pythor whipped his massive tail around with lightning speed, BAM! The force of the strike obliterated both his own tail and the mole-like beast in one devastating blow. The creature, crafted with enough power to contend with an Imperial Guard, couldnʼt withstand even a single direct attack from Pythor.

CRACK!

Robin clenched his fists tightly, the sound of his knuckles cracking audible in the tense silence. His sharp eyes remained locked on the damage caused by the moleʼs horn.

The horn had pierced halfway through the thickness of Pythorʼs scale before getting stuck, failing to reach the serpentʼs flesh. It was eerily similar to what had happened when Robin had attempted to drive aurasium spears into Pythorʼs back earlier in the fight, after the serpentʼs transformation.

Robinʼs gaze shifted to Pythorʼs back, where the two black Urasilum spears still remained embedded. They hadnʼt been driven deep enough to cause lethal damage, but they couldnʼt be removed either.

”....”

Robinʼs lips trembled slightly with suppressed frustration. He had thrown everything he had —every ounce of his physical strength and every shred of his internal energy— into those strikes, yet the result was comparable to the mole beastʼs attack.

In theory, Robin could easily destroy the mole beast a hundred times over using countless techniques. He could summon a hundred more soul creatures to shred it apart. But when it came to raw destructive power, the kind that could be unleashed in a single decisive blow, he barely matched it.

This was the glaring weakness in Robinʼs combat style: he lacked a finishing move powerful enough to end battles decisively.

”HSS HSS HSS!”

Pythorʼs mocking laughter echoed across the battlefield. Ignoring the remaining soul creatures for a moment, he hissed venomously, ”Is that all youʼve got, Robin Burton? Youʼre only delaying the inevitable. Spend your Soul Units however you like—today, the victory will be mine!”

”SHUT UP!” Pythorʼs taunts hit a nerve. Robin gritted his teeth and glared directly into the serpentʼs remaining eye, his brows furrowing with intense focus, ”Soul Demolition Domain!”

”HSS?”

At first, Pythor didnʼt understand the significance of Robinʼs sudden declaration. But he soon found out.

08:15

”ARRRGGHHHH!!!”

Each wave carried a precise 100 Soul Units— seemingly insignificant to someone like Pythor, who had a soul capacity of around 3,000 units. But the rapid, continuous barrage of waves caused violent tremors within his domain, creating an effect akin to an earthquake.

The Soul Demolition Domain was a technique that could be countered easily —provided the target had sufficient soul defenses. Robin, however, had gambled on the possibility that Pythor lacked such defenses.

And he was right.

”HSSSSAAAA!!!”

Pythor shook his massive head violently, stumbling backward in disarray.

”ROAAARRRR!!!”

The four remaining silver soul creatures seized the opportunity. Two leaped onto Pythorʼs tail, locking it in place, while the gorilla-like beast lunged for his massive fangs once again, aiming to neutralize his biting force.

ZZZNNN!

Robin summoned another thick Urasilum spear, gripping it tightly as he surged forward with astonishing speed, his gaze locked onto Pythorʼs head, ”Letʼs see whoʼs laughing in the end!”

Since Pythorʼs transformation, a massive crystal had appeared on his forehead— a feature strikingly similar to the energy cores found in the beasts. It was clear that Pythorʼs transformation wasnʼt merely physical but a complete structural evolution, with his energy core externalized and positioned exactly where Durgarʼs Core was typically located.

This crystal was undoubtedly his weakest point. If shattered, everything would end. But could it be done? The gem was in the most exposed and heavily protected spot on Pythorʼs entire body.

”HSSSS! Donʼt push your luck, human, You are underestimating me way to far!” Pythorʼs deep, guttural voice reverberated across the battlefield. With a mighty WOOOOOM!, he lashed his tail violently, hurling the two soul creatures off of him as if they were mere nuisances. The gorilla-like beast suffered a direct hit from Pythorʼs corrosive poison, disintegrating instantly.

In the blink of an eye, the battlefield reset. All of Robinʼs efforts turned into nothingness.

”Damn it!”

Robin cursed under his breath, his expression turned dark. If he had Hovenheim and the Marshals beside him, they might have been able to restrain the serpent long enough for him to strike a decisive blow. But alone, it seemed impossible.

What can he do now? Barely 20 thousand soul units left, should he summon those 6 soul creatures again? of just pull the two marshals for their battles?!

WOOOOOOSH!

Suddenly, the sound of something moving at high speed tore through the battlefield.

”My moment to shine has arrived!”

In the next instant, a shadow dropped onto Pythorʼs massive body, landing directly on the two embedded spears Robin had planted earlier.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

Under the feet of the newcomer, the spears drove deeper into Pythorʼs flesh, shattering the remaining scales and embedding themselves deep into his vulnerable body.

CRACK! CRACK!

”FWAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!”

Pythor threw his head back and unleashed a pained, guttural roar, the sound echoing across the battlefield. For the first time since the battle had begun, he was genuinely injured— his extremely tough scales had been penetrated, and blood poured freely from the wound.

Robin, still rushing toward Pythor, saw everything unfold. His eyes widened in shock, ”Hulak?”

”Haha! Your uncle has arrived to save the day!” Hulak shouted with a wide grin.
