Chapter 371: Bittersweet Feelings

The broadcast carried on.

“In what many are calling the ‘confession heard across America,’ a woman named Alexandra has sparked a wildfire. Millions are demanding that Maximilian Vice, CEO of ChronosX, and his allies stand trial for crimes they allegedly committed. From academy board members to city officials, public trust is eroding by the hour.”

The words faded into the background as Kaiden pulled open his platform. A single thought was enough, and the numbers appeared before him, clear as day.

And there it was.

Progress.

At last, something tangible, something undeniable.

For weeks, they’d been infamous, known in quite a wide circle but for all the wrong reasons. Their following had grown to several million, but nearly every click had been poisoned. Their streams and videos were buried in dislikes. Comment sections drowning in hatred. Watchtime spiked by spite, not support.

But now?

Now the tide was turning before his eyes.

The counter ticked upward like a heartbeat, climbing into double digits. Ten million people subscribed to Valhalla’s Sinners. Then higher still. Every second brought a new rush of subscribers. Not hate-watchers here to call Kaiden a monster and the girls whores, but people choosing to follow them. The latest upload, once mocked with an 85% dislike ratio, was evening out by the minute as wave after wave of likes and supportive comments crashed against it.

“We were wrong about you.”

“Justice for Alexandra.”

“The Blood Knight protects.”

For the first time since the defamation began, their page didn’t feel like a battlefield; it felt like a beacon.

Kaiden leaned back, watching the numbers rise, and exhaled slowly. This was more than a boost in popularity. This was proof. Proof that their fight wasn’t in vain, that their voices were finally breaking through the noise.

He looked at his Valkyries holding his hands, and felt his felinid playing with his hair from behind, and allowed himself the smallest of smiles.

Progress. A fresh wind at their backs.

The kind that could change everything.

Aria suddenly grabbed the remote, snatching it out of Kaiden’s idle hand. She clicked the television off, and, as the reporter’s voice was muted, silence descended on the room. The only sound was Bastet’s low, steady purr vibrating like a feline lullaby behind Kaiden’s head.

Aria let out a soft sigh. “I’m happy. So happy…”

Her voice carried that tremor of joy struggling against sorrow. “But Alexandra’s tragedy makes it hard to celebrate.” She laced her fingers tighter around Kaiden’s hand, and when she lifted her gaze, her silver eyes shimmered with emotion so raw and beautiful that Kaiden momentarily forgot to breathe.

“Is it normal to feel like this?” she whispered.

It took Kaiden a few moments to find his voice, after which he exhaled. “Of course it is. I feel the same.”

His voice darkened, becoming low and heavy. “I want to open champagne, to kiss my girls in celebration… but I also want to murder Maximilian with my own two hands.”

His eyes suddenly gained a red tinge as his voice became even darker. “To watch as life suffocates in his eyes, as his face turns purple and-”

“Kai!” Aria gasped. Her grip clung to him harder and her face was etched in worry, her silver eyes wide.

That sight… her panic, her desperation to pull him back was enough to snap him out of it immediately. He drew in a sharp breath and finished softer, steadier: “… and I also want to see Alexandra smile again. I’m feeling many things right now, and as you can probably see, I’m a bit confused right now as well.”

From behind him, Bastet stretched languidly. “I may not be an expert on human emotions,” she purred, “but I think some steamy sex would help greatly.”

Before Kaiden could say anything in response, her thick, sun-bronzed thighs slid around either side of his face, enveloping his head. She pressed her clothed but undeniable warm lady flower against the back of his scalp, giggling as she squeezed her thighs and rubbed her private parts against him.

“Not an expert, huh?” Luna scoffed right as she crossed her arms beneath her chest. “You’ve binge-watched more human dramas than any of us. At this point, you’re practically a psychologist. Also, just look at your word usage. You called Nyx a cuck not long ago, me a lunatic, and Aria a deranged woman. You’re more than used to modern human terms. Stop pretending to be a dumb kitten. I hope you didn’t think I’d forget your words.”

Bastet flicked her tail, looking exceptionally smug. She offered no retort.

“However…” The Storm Valkyrie straightened and declared with a mischievous glint, “I agree with you. Some action would certainly do us good. When in doubt, fuck.”

Ever since the felinid decided to wrap her legs around his head, Kaiden’s world suddenly became Bastet’s thighs, Bastet’s scent, Bastet’s heat. And then, he felt nimble fingers at his zipper.

“Really?” he muttered through a muffled breath.

“Don’t act like you don’t want it,” Luna mused with pink cheeks, more than ready for action. “We all know you’ll turn into a beast once the flip switches. Just let it flip, Kai. We’ll worry about butchering Maximilian later, and it’s not like we can do anything for Alexandra right now. The pink cow is already at work; we’d only be in the way if we kept looking at the blond chick like a curiosity in the zoo, or worse, a woman we were pitying.”

Her teasing words struck deeper than he expected. Aria’s trembling silver eyes, Bastet’s thighs tightening around his face, Luna’s soft fingers lingering at his zipper… their warmth was a reminder of the anchor he had right here, the reason he could keep fighting no matter what.

Maybe Luna was right. Maybe what he needed wasn’t more silence and worry. Maybe what he needed was them.

Kaiden inhaled slowly, taking in the sweet, intoxicating mix of feminine perfume, the scent of their bodies, their delicious shampoo, and the undeniable arousal surrounding him.

The tension in his chest eased, shifting into ‘primal desires’ mode. Just before Luna could tug his zipper free, he made his move.

With a sudden motion, he rose to his feet and locked his hands around Bastet’s thighs, squeezing her juicy thighs firmly and pulling her up with him. The Ra-Blessed Felinid yelped at the unexpected explosive motion, then burst into laughter as she clung to his hair with her feline tail curling excitedly behind her butt.

“What is it?” Luna blinked once her fingers lost their hold on his zipper, lips turning pouty.

“You don’t… want to?” Aria asked, hesitant. A deep pink blush had also materialized on her delicate cheeks, serving as a clear indication that she was more than happy to play along with the suggestion of Bastet and Luna. Or, to put it more crudely:

Aria was down to fuck.

Her blush deepened as her thighs rubbed together in anticipation. She added shyly, looking as if she thought of herself as the world’s biggest pervert, “We could even film for our fangirls. They’ve only seen monster-slaying videos this past week… I bet they would be happy.”

“No.” Kaiden’s voice was firm.

“… No?” Aria’s lips trembled in disappointment.

He looked at each of them deep in the eyes, then grinned wolfishly.

“We’re not filming anything. Tonight, I’m going to utterly annihilate my girls in bed just for my hedonistic pleasure. Business resumes tomorrow.”
