Chapter 366: Outrage of a Nation

”Knowing this, I could no longer remain silent. My best friend escaped hell. She found love. She can make enough money to escape the debt. My life will be ruined once this video is released. I bet Maximilian is already calling his contacts to punish me. But I don’t care.”

Her chest rose and fell with shuddering breaths. Her final words came out broken, yet they carried more weight than anything she had said before.

”Nyx Cosmos... my best friend... please, live life to the fullest for the both of us.”

And just like that, the video cut out.

Truth be told, humans were fickle creatures. They had spent days drenched in terror, sleepless nights with the thought of claws and fangs tearing through their walls. They had wept over names on casualty lists, buried what remained of their dead—if anything—in mass graves, and clung to the cold comfort of government bunkers. But even fear had limits. Even anxiety exhausted itself.

Now that the monsters were pushed back, at least largely, the collective heart of America shifted. They were burned out on worry, sick of staring into the cold shadows of their rooms.

The President’s address had been a balm for their strained minds. They were not just watching the video for information, but for distraction. To hear words of control, of safety, of heroes rising from within their people. It gave them something else to think about, something other than empty chairs at dinner tables and ruined neighborhoods. For once, they could allow themselves to breathe.

And then Alexandra’s video hit.

The timing was perfect, almost cruel in its precision. The presidential conference was still ongoing, cameras still locked on the stage where Kaiden Grey and his women stood tall under the glow of national gratitude. But then, like a tremor moving under the earth, the new video spread.

The bunkers stirred first. Huddled families who had been half-dozing through the President’s speech sat up straighter, their eyes glued to the shaky recording. Wives gripped their husbands’ hands tighter. Sisters turned to brothers with tears in their eyes. Friends, strangers, and entire communities gathered around the same glowing screens.

”Yo, check this out.”

”You have to see this.”

”Turn it on now.”

The feed was shared across platforms, screens flashed open one after another.

Suddenly, the world was not listening to the President anymore. They were listening to Alexandra.

Parents hugged their children closer, their hearts sickened at the thought of a ten-year-old girl being swallowed alive by lies and chains.

And just like this, the fragile peace that had only just returned, the delicate relief of knowing monsters were held at bay... people seized onto this new outrage like a lifeline.

The fickleness of humanity revealed itself in full. Days ago, their only thought had been survival. Now, safe for the moment, they needed release.

Alexandra’s words gave them that outlet.

Whispers swelled into outrage. Outrage became shouting. Shouting became fury; a deep, wrathful rage that rolled across every bunker, every shelter, every crowded home. It was no longer enough to fear monsters; now they demanded justice against a man who had become more monstrous than the beasts that tore through their streets.

The world had wanted distraction from despair. Alexandra’s confession gave them something better: righteous anger.

Average citizens could not fight the monsters. They could not bring back the dead. But here, here was a villain with a name. A man who could be hated. A man who could be punished.

And the hypocrisy was too much to ignore. They had just seen Kaiden Grey and his Valkyries honored by the President, Nyx Cosmos included, hailed as heroes. The nation itself was told to applaud them by its leader.

And yet, in the very same breath, the man who had slandered them, who had painted them as degenerates and villains, was revealed as a monster worse than any beast spilling out of a dungeon.

The rage was collective. It was united. A wave of human fury rising and crashing down together.

In bunkers, fists slammed against tables.

In apartments, tears rolled down cheeks as voices rose in curses.

It was not just a scandal. It was catharsis.

The internet roared to life.

Posts went live within seconds, flooding feeds and timelines. Angry parents who had never once cared for ”awakened content” now shared Alexandra’s testimony with trembling hands. College students who only moments ago had been watching the President’s speech in a crowded hall were already clipping, captioning, and firing it off into every group chat they had.

The tags spread like wildfire, climbing trending lists in real-time.

People who had never heard of Valhalla’s Sinners clicked into their group page, scrolling past bold thumbnails and chaotic fan-posts. What they saw was not depravity, but camaraderie. Smiles. Training footage. Cooking videos. Chatting in hot springs. Teasing banter between Kaiden and his women. To many, it was their first glimpse into who these ”degenerates” really were: human beings who fought and bled for the same country now raising their voices.

And the words poured in. Support. Praise. Promises. Thousands at first, then tens of thousands, then a tidal wave.

The fragile peace that had returned after the chaos was already transforming, reshaped into collective wrath with a new target.

And through it all, as the nation’s fury bled into digital ink and rising chants, Kaiden Grey did not move.

His gaze never left Maximilian Vice.

The man was being dragged from the chamber, his protests drowned beneath the murmur of reporters and the weight of his own humiliation. Yet Kaiden’s wrathful crimson eyes followed him, cold and unrelenting. They were not the eyes of a man basking in the President’s praise, nor of a hero humbled by medals. They were the eyes of a predator, a sovereign wrath given flesh.

In that gaze burned a fury that mirrored the nation’s but multiplied a hundredfold. The message was unmistakable, written in silence, carved into the air between:

This is only the beginning.
