Wizard: Stronger through Marriage

Chapter 556: Chapter 233: Demon Hunter

These Hell Mages secretively band together, believing that through trading with demons they can acquire greater power to protect themselves from impending disaster.

These Hell Mages began causing chaos within the Wizard World, sabotaging the Alliance’s defense facilities and sowing seeds of panic and distrust.

Mysterious fires appeared in some cities, and important supply depots were ransacked completely.

There were even powerful mages of the Wizard Alliance who were assassinated at night, with distinctive demon runes of the Hell Mages left at the scene.

The power of these Hell Mages comes from the blessings of demons. They can summon low-level demons to assist in combat, using dark magic to corrode the will of their enemies.

Their emergence has made the already tense Wizard World even more chaotic, and the Alliance’s conscription order left some mages feeling dissatisfied, believing it was a sacrifice of ordinary mages to consolidate the Alliance’s power.

David knew that if the actions of the Hell Mages were not timely stopped, the internal conflicts of the Wizard World would be magnified, and the Wizard Alliance would surely fall.

To stop these Hell Mages, the Wizard Alliance secretly trained a Demon Hunting Team specifically to scout and strike at the Hell Mages.

This special task force is equipped with unique magic items, enabling them to track demonic qi and quickly pinpoint the locations of Hell Mages within the Wizard World.

David, a Second-Ring Mage, was also selected to join them.

The task force usually operates at night, silently infiltrating Hell Mages’ secret gathering points like ghosts, and eliminating those causing chaos.

During this process, David could utilize the power of the Ancient Life Tree Seedling to continuously devour the life energy and souls of the opponents, steadily increasing his strength.

Sea Cape Tower, an ancient fortress standing at the edge of the Wizard World, has always been an important stronghold for the Wizard Alliance.

However, as the Hell Mages rose, this tower also became a target of their covetousness.

On this deep night, the Hell Mages launched a surprise attack, summoning swarms of low-level demons surging towards Sea Cape Tower like a tide.

The sky was obscured by the wings of demons, while the ground echoed with the roars of demons and the chanting of spells by the Hell Mages.

The Wizard Alliance’s Demon Hunting Team quickly responded, rushing towards Sea Cape Tower.

David, a member of the Haiwang Corner Wizard Alliance in the Endless Sea, had always been tasked with exterminating the Hell Mages in this sea area.

As a member of the Demon Hunting Team, David’s mission was to disrupt the Hell Mages’ summoning ceremony, preventing more demons from being summoned to this world.

The battle was extremely brutal.

On the walls of Sea Cape Tower, wizards cast various defensive and attack magic; fireballs, ice arrows, and lightning intertwined into lethal nets, reaping the demons’ lives.

However, the dark magic of the Hell Mages was equally strong, their corrosive mist and curse power weakened the wizards’ defenses, plunging the battle into a deadlock.

David shuttled through the battlefield, his figure as elusive as a ghost.

He used the power of the Ancient Life Tree Seedling to constantly absorb the life energy and souls of the defeated demons and Hell Mages.

Every absorption made him feel a surge in strength, but the key to this battle was not individual power, but teamwork.

The strength of the Hell Mages was indeed immense. With the blessing from Hell, their power could be elevated by a ring!

This led to the battlefield being filled with numerous First-Ring and Second-Ring Hell Mages, each able to draw upon Hell’s power to battle.

Even the Sea Cape Tower of the Third-Ring Mage Organization was completely unable to withstand the Hell Mages’ attack, and many wizards perished on the battlefield.

To these Hell Mages, death was the best sacrifice to Hell, allowing them to receive more feedback from Hell.

As the battle continued, the defense of Sea Cape Tower gradually collapsed.

The number and power of the Hell Mages exceeded the Wizard Alliance’s expectations, their dark magic and summoned demons continuously eroding the tower’s defenses.

Despite the heroic fight of the Demon Hunting Team members, facing an endlessly incoming enemy, they began to feel overwhelmed.

David shuttled through the battlefield; although the Ancient Life Tree Seedling could absorb the life energy and souls of the enemies, he also felt exhaustion in such high-intensity combat.

Every absorption required his energy, while the number of enemies seemed endless.

Finally, in a fierce attack, the magic barrier of Sea Cape Tower was broken through.

Hell Mages and demons surged in like a tide, engaging in close combat with the tower’s guardian wizards.

The corridors and halls inside the tower became a bloody battlefield. Wizards were forced to retreat, but every step was accompanied by sacrifice.

David and his teammates tried to organize effective counterattacks, but they quickly realized this battle was beyond recovery.

The fall of Sea Cape Tower was only a matter of time.

During a desperate resistance, David witnessed the tower’s commander—a Third-Ring Mage being struck down by a powerful Hell Mage.

The commander’s fall signified the complete loss of Wizard Alliance control over Sea Cape Tower.

With the fall of Sea Cape Tower, Hell Mages began establishing their stronghold within the tower, their dark rituals becoming more frequent and powerful.

Sea Cape Tower, once a fortress of light, now became the domain of the Hell Mages, with demonic power continuously flooding into the Wizard World.

Fortunately, at a critical moment, David found Meisha and, along with this First-Ring Witch, escaped with other wizards from Sea Cape Tower.

The fall of Sea Cape Tower was like a thunderclap, shaking the entire Endless Sea Wizard Alliance.

The news returned to the Sea of Azure, causing great rage and panic.

The leaders of the Wizard Alliance gathered in the conference hall, with an atmosphere heavy and tense.

They were acutely aware that the fall of Sea Cape Tower not only meant the loss of an important strategic point but also symbolized the rise in power of the Hell Mages and the setback of the Alliance.

The highest council of the Haiwang Corner Wizard Alliance Branch urgently convened a meeting.

Edmund Starlight, the councilor of Haiwang Corner Alliance and a Fourth-Ring Mage, had a face filled with worry. Looking around, he saw the same heavy expressions.

Edmund cleared his throat, his voice carrying an undeniable authority:

”The fall of Sea Cape Tower is a wake-up call, reminding us not to underestimate the power of the Hell Mages. We must take action, or the entire Wizard World will face a threat.”

In the meeting room, wizards voiced their opinions, with some advocating for an immediate counterattack to reclaim Sea Cape Tower, while others suggested strengthening the defense of other strongholds to prevent further incursions by the Hell Mages.

However, regardless of the opinion, all expressed dissatisfaction with the rise of the Hell Mages and determination to resist.

Ultimately, the council decided to adopt a multi-pronged approach.

First, they would dispatch a special task force consisting of elite wizards to infiltrate Sea Cape Tower, gather intelligence, and find opportunities to wreck the Hell Mages’ plans.

Secondly, the Alliance would strengthen ties with other wizard organizations, seeking allies to jointly counter the threat of the Hell Mages in the Haiwang Corner region.

Meanwhile, a large-scale defense enhancement would be implemented within the Alliance, boosting the combat capabilities of wizards and preparing for possible larger-scale battles.

As a member of the Demon Hunting Team withdrawn from the previous battle, David was left behind for recovery and began utilizing Alliance resources to boost his strength.

This time, as a Demon Hunter, he accumulated a large amount of points, which he directly converted into resources to enhance his power.

During such times, the Wizard Alliance was particularly generous to incentivize the wizards.

David collected all these resources, intending to find an opportunity to return to the Bright Continent.

Meanwhile, he engaged in dual cultivation with Meisha and Mi Wei, both First-Ring Mages, continually enhancing the intensity of the Magic Spring.
