Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Chapter 939: From now on, I am also a refined person!

”In general, in this situation, many of the props and costumes on set are metaphorical. On the surface, it is indeed the evil god who defeated the hero, but in fact, if we deduce from the different personalities that the evil god showed in the mirror, the one that should appear in the mirror in the end is the greatest sin, arrogance. And arrogance actually doesnʼt even look down on the heroʼs rotten body.”

Zong Jiwei explained patiently.

”Therefore, arrogance could not possibly attack the hero. On the contrary, it was not that he replaced the hero, but that the hero replaced him. So, in the end, the hero, who had clearly realized his own baseness and ugliness, transformed back into the handsome and strong hero after his arrogance. This was because the heroʼs arrogance had prevented him from recognizing himself, and he was only immersed in his own achievements and the praise of others.”

”ah?”

The girls looked surprised.

”Moreover, the fact that the evil god eventually appears in the mirror is also metaphorical. His imitation of the heroʼs actions is not a provocation, but rather it means that he is actually another face reflected by the hero.”

It was rare to find young people so patient in listening to his understanding of stage plays, especially since they were about the same age as his daughter. Zong Jiwei smiled kindly and told them all his guesses.

This earned him praise from the girls.

So Zong Jiwei quickly took out his phone, ready to chat with his daughter who was also watching the live stream.

This has already started being discussed online.

【So, in the end, the hero was replaced by the evil god?】

【The dragon slayer becomes the dragon himself.】

【I feel like there are many details to discuss this time! Itʼs my first time seeing a stage play, and itʼs really different from other film and television works.】

【Actually, I used to think these kinds of stage plays were meaningless, either just pointless sentimental art, poorly performed and awkward, and that people who didnʼt understand them would be mocked for not appreciating them. I really disliked them. But after seeing the national teamʼs performance in person, I realized how superficial I was.】

【As expected of the national team! Besides Xiao Geʼs amazing portrayal of the evil god, the heroʼs performance was also very nuanced. The sudden change in expression in the finale really scared me; it felt like this guyʼs face had completely changed.】

【These are all very young actors! Theyʼre incredibly talented! It feels like thereʼs a lot of new blood and new development to be had in performing arts!】

【I also want to praise the stage design and props this time. Who came up with the idea of that mirrored screen on the stage? It really gave me goosebumps after watching it.】

【Awesome! I love it! Iʼm going to watch it again!】

【Iʼm totally hooked this time! From now on, Iʼm a die-hard fan of Xiaohe!】

【Added to the list! From now on, Iʼm a sophisticated person!】

【Looking forward to the final rating! I feel it should easily reach 90!】

Netizens were amazed by the performance, expressing their opinions one after another, and occasionally tagging several bloggers, urging them to release videos and provide detailed explanations to confirm whether everyoneʼs guesses were correct.

In fact, traditional stage plays naturally have a one-time viewing experience.

Because stage performances are inherently short and the venue is limited, it is often very difficult to tell a complete story well on stage.

Especially with plots like this, which are full of metaphors and Western allusions, itʼs no wonder that audiences sometimes donʼt quite understand them. They may even need to go to the theater several times before they can belatedly grasp the true direction of the story.

Fortunately, technology is now advanced. Even though stage performances are time-sensitive, with subtle differences in emotions, staging, and atmosphere between acts, making it impossible to replicate a good performance, the content of the performance can be captured and recorded by equipment at any time.

As a result, the performance on stage breaks free from the limitations of the stage and has many opportunities to explore its details.

So when all the live broadcasts of the stage play ”The Root of Evil” officially ended, various bloggers in China had already begun their new round of discussions and research, preparing to work overtime to urgently produce videos for detailed explanations.

Almost immediately after ”The Root of Evil” ended its live stream on the platform, various clips and analyses from various bloggers appeared on short video platforms, along with simple analyses and praises.

Even before Xiao Heren stepped down from the stage, the live broadcast announcement released by his team had already received over 500,000 likes.

The popularity of this stage play is absolutely phenomenal. Itʼs the first time Iʼve seen this type of work break into the mainstream and become a hot topic of discussion among the entire nation.

The last time there was such widespread discussion and praise was more than a decade ago when the Spring Festival Gala was at its peak, and many stage programs became classics in the hearts of the people.

Although both are performed on stage, they cannot be considered the same type of performance, but they do have something in common.

The online discussions were in full swing, but the members of the theater troupe who had already left the stage were still anxiously waiting for the judgesʼ scores.

The World Olympic Drama Competition still uses the basic scoring mechanism, with a total score of 100 points. The judging panel usually consists of 5-7 people who score on-site at the same time. The highest and lowest scores are removed, and the remaining scores are averaged and rounded to two decimal places as the teamʼs final score.

The competitionʼs general scoring criteria are divided into four parts based on different weights, from highest to lowest: script content, actor performance, stage presentation, and innovative highlights.

This is also a key part of the judgesʼ assessment of whether a work is qualified to compete for the gold and silver awards.

This time, they boldly innovated, and the original script ”The Root of Calamity” that they presented was perfect in terms of content, actors, and stage presentation.

It can be said that every point aligns with the judgesʼ scoring criteria.

The feedback from the audience was also very good, and the judges will likely give extra points accordingly.

—This wait is just so unbearable.

”Brother Xiao! Brother Xiao! Look here!”

Backstage, Xiao He heard Xiao Chenʼs shouts, turned his head and saw Xiao Chen running over with her phone in hand.

”Brother Xiao! Weʼre using your official account to do a live stream.”

Xiao Chen said with a smile, ”There are over a million viewers in the live stream right now. Do you want to say hello to them?”

They really can do whatever they want just because they have copyright!

They sell the copyrights themselves, and their own people can then freely stream the content from the back end.

Xiao He found it somewhat amusing, but he also felt a bit more relaxed. He raised his hand and waved towards the live stream camera.

But when Xiao Chen approached him with her phone and took a closer look at the comments scrolling across the screen, Xiao He couldnʼt help but twitch his lips.

【Brother Xiao, Iʼm begging you, please wipe the blood off your face first.】

【Oh my god, Iʼm really going to have psychological trauma from this. Wonʼt that brave warrior who shared the stage with Brother Xiao have any psychological trauma? I can still vaguely hear the evil god chuckling in my ear. Even with Brother Xiaoʼs face, thereʼs not a hint of romance, only the fear of being killed.】

【Brother Xiao, my love for you made me choose to stay, but my fear of you makes me choose to turn on the light and wrap myself in the blanket.】

Seeing the comments telling him to wipe his face, Xiao He took the wet wipes Xiao Chen handed him and wiped his face, saying with a hint of annoyance, ”Itʼs because I scared you guys that it proves I acted well. If I act well, then our team will do well, and the judges will give us a higher score.”

Although itʼs not quite appropriate to say it like that, despite Xiao Heʼs bloody appearance being somewhat frightening, his strong and vivid artistic expression sometimes attracts the judgesʼ attention even more.

He could be considered to have sacrificed himself for art... right?
