Gaowu invasion, I can see the future

98: Jiaolong! ? Taming the water monsterOn the way to the patrol car, Liu Feifei seized the opportunity to pinch Bai Yu’s arm and asked, ”You recovered so quickly?”

Upon hearing this, Bai Yu immediately put on a pained expression and said, ”Hiss~ It hurts so much! Ah~”

Liu Feifei was startled, but then realized she had been tricked and pinched Bai Yu hard.

”Hmph! Does it hurt?”

”My shoulder is sore, how about a massage?”

He then felt a soft and perfectly applied force and praised, ”Not bad, I’ll reward you with a bottle of Red Horse Herb Potion.”

”Hiss~ Ha~ It hurts, it hurts, it hurts!”

Feeling the pleasant atmosphere within the team, Bai Yu was in a rather good mood.

Phew~ I just went through a tribulation yesterday.

But the enemy’s footsteps haven’t stopped, and he must also compose himself and continue moving forward!

Black Demon Ancestor, the Blood Qilin case, the suspicious activities near Thunder Laboratory.

The smuggling case, the river monster case, the rebellion of ancient Cultivators, the Moon God case mentioned in the Underworld Messenger’s intelligence.

A whole bunch of things are waiting to be dealt with!

Of course, he was now used to this life and was very much looking forward to digging out these things one by one.

On the way to Yun Lake.

Li Yunbin talked about the Black Blood Pregnant Woman case that had occurred recently, noting that the number of victims had a clear trend of surging.

”The news I’ve heard recently is that more than half a month ago, when this case appeared in the north of the city, the Different God Research Institute in East Sea Province dispatched several professors from relevant fields to start working on it.”

”According to the current intelligence, the evil god behind this case is not appearing for the first time.”

”These professors have a deep understanding of this evil god.”

”Director Yang is currently making contact and will get the relevant research materials as soon as possible, which might be helpful to you.”

Hearing this, Bai Yu became interested.

He remembered a mysterious organization mentioned in one of his previous intelligence reports: the Different God Research Institute!

To be precise, it was in the intelligence about the black blood blade mentioned in the Yunhu Serial Murder Case, with the signature: [Different God Research Institute Researcher - Yan Yongxin]

The Black Demon Progenitor is considered an ancient god-like existence; he wondered if this organization was responsible for it.

But no matter what, for an evil god with such a historical background, the Official certainly would have established a large information database!

Thinking of this, Bai Yu said, ”To be honest, although my book page is related to the power behind this Black Blood Pregnant Woman case, I really have no idea who the enemy is. If I can get relevant intelligence, it should be much better.”

”Yes, Director Yang should be able to get the relevant materials. Now that you’re performing so brilliantly, the big shots paying attention to you behind the scenes will operate secretly.”

”Don’t praise me too much, I’ll get arrogant, haha.”

He was also curious about what kind of information he would receive.

If he had the information, could he obtain more important intelligence?

Yun Lake South Bank.

When Bai Yu and the others arrived, they were stunned.

What kind of blockade was this? The entire blockade line was surrounded by people! It was practically a marketplace!

It was full of people who came to watch the excitement.

But there was nothing they could do.

Such a deep-water giant was definitely full of attraction for most people.

”Look quickly! It seems like Official personnel have arrived!”

”How will the Official handle it? Will they kill it directly?”

”I don’t know.”

”But such a large creature is a bit scary! If it stays, I won’t dare to go near Yun Lake anymore.”

”Both lakes are connected, so Qing Lake can’t be visited either. The tourism economy will suffer a severe blow!”

Bai Yu and the others passed through the cordon.

Seeing so many people, it was clearly impossible to hide it. Bai Yu couldn’t help but ask, ”Captain, this water monster incident has caused such a stir, and so many people are watching. What did the higher-ups say about how to handle it?”

”The higher-ups said to let us improvise.”

Hearing this, Bai Yu suddenly had an idea and confirmed, ”Really? It’s fine if the people around see it?”

”It’s fine. After all, these people already know about the existence of the water monster. As long as the water monster doesn’t release extraordinary power in front of the crowd, it’s okay. Unless the higher-ups tell us to kill it directly, how could we possibly hide it?”

”Alright!”

Hearing this, Bai Yu already had an idea brewing.

Everyone came to the south bank of Yun Lake, looking at the deep blue water. Bai Yu thought of the river monster case mentioned in the Underworld Messenger’s intelligence.

However, the river monster case was ranked ninth, so it clearly couldn’t happen so quickly.

The river monster and the Yun Lake water beast should be two different things.

But there might be some connection between them!

Li Yunbin exchanged a few words with the team member responsible for monitoring underwater movements.

”Where is that Catfish Demon now?”

”Reporting, Captain, it’s about five hundred meters from the lake shore, roughly at...”

Saying this, the person pointed to an underwater topographic map.

Bai Yu looked over.

He said in surprise, ”Isn’t this where White Spirit was born?”

Seeing this, Liu Feifei muttered, ”What kind of auspicious place is this? First a Dragon River Woman, then a Catfish Demon...”

Just as everyone was considering how to release White Spirit to lure out this Catfish Demon, a commercial vehicle drove into the cordon.

Bai Yu looked over in surprise.

Weren’t they supposed to handle this? He still wanted to show off his skills!

Who knew the Official had sent more people.

What were they planning to do? Kill it?

The black car quickly stopped, and a researcher in a white coat got out, followed by several people.

Bai Yu looked at this person and felt somewhat familiar.

He remembered! He had seen him at the auction yesterday.

Li Yunbin clearly recognized this person and said, ”Lin Professor, hello!”

”I heard there’s a Catfish Demon in Yun Lake that’s a half-step Ling Yuan Realm?”

”Yes, it’s in the lake.”

”Do you have footage? Let me see!”

This Lin Professor’s tone was clearly very excited. He carefully looked at the screen, and seeing the Catfish Demon’s enormous size and somewhat clumsy appearance, he became even more excited!

This was clearly a friendly Spirit Beast, perfectly suitable for him to Cultivate.

Lin Professor didn’t waste any time and said directly, ”I’ve prepared special anesthetic equipment. The current plan is for you to assist me in getting this catfish into the trap, then anesthetize it, and transport it away directly in front of everyone.”

”After handling it, write an announcement and publish it in the Tianhai City news.”

”It will roughly state that this catfish is a mutated species, equivalent to human obesity. It has currently been taken to the laboratory for research, and people need not panic.”

”After the research is complete, it might be released back into nature.”

”What do you all think?”

Li Yunbin and the others didn’t answer immediately.

Instead, Bai Yu drew out his words: ”This...this...”

Lin Professor, appearing very familiar with Bai Yu, said, ”You rascal, what’s with ’this, this’? Speak, what devious idea do you have?”

”??? Ah? You know me?”

”Nonsense! Old Wang always mentions you in the group, not to mention yesterday...”

At this point, Lin Professor’s excited mood instantly subsided.

”Anyway, I was present throughout yesterday’s auction and paid attention to you. Your performance was quite good!”

Hearing this, Bai Yu’s first thought was: Damn it! What exactly did Professor Wang Wen Professor do? Is he a chatterbox in the professor’s group? Always spreading things around, he probably said a lot of bad things behind his back.

After thinking for a moment, Bai Yu said, ”Our plan here is to use another Spirit Beast to tame that Catfish Demon.”

”Oh? Another Spirit Beast? What kind of Spirit Beast? Spirit Beasts have very strong territorial instincts, and they can easily get into fights with each other. With so many people watching now, if it gets out of hand, that wouldn’t be good!”

Yesterday, even during White Spirit’s most intense battle, she was still shrouded in a white mist, and few people saw her true form.

It seemed only the deceased Night Demon knew about the existence of the Dragon. However, Bai Yu believed that he would keep his secret well.

In the eyes of others, White Spirit was at most a special summon like the Dragon River Woman.

Bai Yu scanned the other investigators, considered for a moment, and thought to himself: I should still tell the professor privately.

Without being polite, he pulled the professor aside. Lin Professor showed a hint of doubt and said, ”What are you up to, kid? Is it something that needs to be so secretive?”

Bai Yu leaned close to his ear and whispered, ”A White Dragon.”

Lin Professor’s eyes widened, his expression one of extreme ecstasy!

Holy cow! I’ve lived so many years and have never seen a living Dragon!

”Where? A Dragon creature must be at least tens of meters long, right? How do you plan to transport it? Can I study it? Don’t worry, I’ll pay to observe.”

”Soul form.”

”Ah? Soul form?”

Lin Professor’s smile instantly vanished, feeling a bit regretful.

His Domain was the study of physical Spirit Beasts.

He liked all kinds of large Spirit Beasts that he could touch.

In the Soul Sea, White Spirit’s displeased voice rang out: ”Hmph! Looking down on me!”

Bai Yu, hearing this, awkwardly ran a hand through his hair.

He could roughly sense Lin Professor’s personality; this person was a bit like Professor Wang Wen Professor.

The difference was that Lin Professor was a social terrorist.

Professor Wang Wen Professor was a big shot with a strange temper, with a relatively narrow social circle, but once familiar, he was similar in character to Lin Professor.

And Lin Professor, without stopping his chatter, continued to ask, ”So what do you plan to do if you successfully subdue it? How about giving it to me? Selling it is fine too, but not too expensive, after all, you don’t have ownership of this Spirit Beast. It’s just like you helped me domesticate it.”

”Lin Professor, you don’t understand the extraordinary environment of our Tianhai City! Our Tianhai City has a wide water area, and aquaticAlien like mermen are easy to hide. I was thinking of keeping this Catfish Demon here to help patrol the waters.”

”Even, after domestication, it could be used as a tourist attraction, allowing the public to interact with this giant monster. This would not only reduce suspicion but also achieve a desensitization effect.”

”What’s more, didn’t you, old man, just say that you would release it back into nature after studying it?”

What he was considering was to Cultivate a Catfish Demon in Yun Lake in advance, to facilitate the study of underwater conditions!

Then he would also be able to deal with the river monster quickly.

Lin Professor listened, thought for a moment, and said, ”The higher-ups have indeed relaxed their control over the extraordinary world a lot recently. Regarding the handling of this Catfish Demon, the higher-ups also have no specific instructions, it’s very flexible.”

”In fact, if it’s domesticated to be quite docile, it can indeed be released back into Yun Lake.”

”You said to tame it on the spot with the White Dragon, and then let it continue to live in Yun Lake. This is something I hadn’t thought of before I came. But it’s not impossible.”

Hearing this, Bai Yu’s eyes lit up.

There’s actually a chance!?

It seems the exposure of the extraordinary world is progressing faster than he imagined.

’That’s right, that news was indeed from a year later.’

’But that was just what was seen from a news perspective, and it didn’t mention the progress of understanding the extraordinary Domain in various parts of the world, did it?’

Seeing this, Bai Yu said, ”Then if I can successfully tame it, there’s no need to capture it. Otherwise, wouldn’t it feel like ’protesting too much’? Let this Catfish Demon live openly in Yun Lake and occasionally show its face, and your report will appear even more authentic.”

”That’s also possible, but at least I need to see if you can do it. Don’t let me agree, and then you don’t tame it and still plan to kill this Catfish Demon.”

”Ahem, that shouldn’t be the case.”

Bai Yu then asked, ”Oh, by the way! Professor, do you have any extra docile Spirit Beasts? We could put them in Yun Lake together to help patrol the waters, as a contribution to society.”

”Hey~! You just talked your way into getting this Catfish Demon, and now you’re asking me for Spirit Beasts in return?”

”We’re just asking, you know. If not, then forget it, no pressure.”

”Then do you know what else I’m here for besides catching the catfish?”

”What? Catching people?”

...I understand why Old Wang’s evaluation of you is so special. I’m here, oh, I think I just told you. I’m supposed to write an announcement. How can I write it without data?”

”Make it up! Experts always speak off the cuff! Creating something out of nothing, that’s what shows your strong ability! What’s more, according to my plan, I just need Lin Professor to help write a piece of information, which is that this Catfish Demon is already equivalent to an eighteen-year-old adult, with extremely high intelligence, capable of friendly communication. Don’t all those reports on Spirit Beasts displayed in aquariums write like that?”

Hearing this, Lin Professor laughed.

Good, good, good! You’re comparing me to a roadside stall’s ’dung pit expert,’ are you?

He patted Bai Yu’s shoulder and said, ”Good kid! I’ll remember you.”

”Uh...”

”Let’s go with your plan. However, letting Spirit Beasts that haven’t undergone long-term domestication interact with people still carries a high risk.”

”Don’t pandas also hurt people? What’s more, as long as this Spirit Beast is intelligent and docile, with its intelligence, the probability of it hurting people will only be lower.”

”That’s true, I’ll consider how to write the report to the higher-ups.”

Lin Professor seemed to have no airs.

”Of course, Professor can set up the trap now. If this catfish is aggressive and disobedient, we either lure it into the trap or kill it on the spot.”

Hearing this, Lin Professor fell into a long silence.

...You’d better say everything at once next time! I had already prepared myself for a painful sacrifice.”

With that, Lin Professor prepared to set up the trap.

Liu Feifei then excitedly patted Bai Yu’s shoulder and said, ”You’re truly a master at taming professors.”

Lin Professor looked back and asked, ”Little girl, what’s your name?”

”Uh... Liu Ruoxi.”

Bai Yu’s eyes widened: You two are fake sisters, aren’t you???

I’m writing this down in my little notebook.

Lin Professor was also a magnanimous person; he didn’t pursue anything and went to busy himself with setting up the trap.
