Gaowu invasion, I can see the future

70: I also buy oil! Re-enter the antique streetXu Deputy Director was the inspection leader from Yun’an Electronic Factory whom I had only met once.

”I didn’t expect Student Bai to also dabble in futures and finance.”

He was naturally extremely puzzled.

After all, Bai Yu was on a team with Li Yunbin and Qin Wanqing! He wouldn’t really be short on money.

Moreover, investigators are generally very busy, and what they earn are Karma points; money, while important, at least refers to large sums in the tens of millions.

He didn’t expect him to come to the exchange to play futures, which is more likely to result in losses, or even debt.

Bai Yu just smiled, not knowing what to say. He and Xu Deputy Director had only met once.

So he said, ”Just playing around. Who knows, I might make a fortune.”

Seeing Xiao Chen finish up, he picked up the slip and said, ”I have something to do, so I’ll be leaving now?”

”Okay, I won’t bother you then.”

Bai Yu walked towards the main entrance.

Xu Deputy Director then looked at the trader, Xiao Chen, and asked, ”What futures did he buy?”

Logically, this was against the rules.

But Xu Deputy Director was his big client.

He could only say, ”He bought oil futures, a short-term contract for half a month.”

”Oil?”

Xu Deputy Director was a bit confused. He had been playing futures for a long time, and the price of oil had fallen recently, making it very risky with a high probability of loss.

After thinking for a moment, he asked, ”How much did he invest?”

”One million.”

Xu Deputy Director muttered to himself in confusion, ”That shouldn’t be right. How does he have so much money?”

Xu Deputy Director still knew from their last meal that Bai Yu was a newcomer who hadn’t joined the Investigation Bureau many days ago.

’He must have brought the money of the other members to buy it.’

When Xiao Chen heard Xu Deputy Director’s confusion, he still couldn’t help but say, ”Half a month ago, he used two hundred thousand to buy soybean futures and it quadrupled.”

This made Xu Deputy Director pause.

Five times!

As for the news about soybeans, since he played futures, he certainly understood it.

He just hadn’t expected Bai Yu to actually make a fortune from soybean futures.

He couldn’t help but wonder if someone of Li Yunbin’s caliber had revealed some information in advance?

But the Li family and the Qin family don’t deal in soybeans or other grains; they are mostly in tangible industries.

But they are extraordinary beings. If he made five times his investment on a short-term future before, perhaps he possesses special abilities that I don’t know about.

Thinking of this, he decisively said, ”Use the newly deposited one million to buy short-term oil futures for me as a test.”

The trader, Xiao Chen, was full of questions upon hearing this.

Could it be that Director Xu thinks that student’s judgment is better than his own?

He naturally followed the instructions as requested.

After briefly processing the information, Xu Deputy Director also noticed Xiao Chen’s eager expression and smiled, ”I can’t say for sure about futures. As for that student’s financial ability, I’m not clear either. If you want to buy, it’s best not to go all in.”

Xiao Chen felt a bit awkward after his thoughts were seen through: ”I understand. After working for so many years, I still know how deep this industry is.”

After Xu Deputy Director left, Xiao Chen gritted his teeth and took out one-third of his wife’s savings—three hundred thousand—and followed suit.

People in this line of work have some endurance, but not much.

Catch a trend, and you might fly, or you might explode.

On the other side, just after leaving the exchange.

White Spirit’s voice popped out: ”What is this for?”

”To make money, it’s like earning silver.”

”Silver? Where is the silver?”

”Here, this in my hand.”

Bai Yu was naturally referring to the futures trading slip. White Spirit seemed to understand, yet not understand, after hearing him.

Bai Yu took out his phone and checked the time; it was only a little past nine forty.

He considered for a moment.

’Now I definitely need to go to Yunhu Antique Street to deal with the ink abyss divine pen.’

However, he didn’t know how to both obtain the brush and discover that guy without letting him know he had been discovered.

’I’ll think about it on the way.’

He hailed a taxi and got in.

”Beep beep ~”

His phone rang.

Bai Yu glanced at it; it was a message from Wang Haobin in the dorm group chat.

Wang Haobin: ”What are you all doing every day? Especially Brother Yu, aren’t you still in Tianhai City? Why aren’t you back in the dorm?”

Upon seeing this, Bai Yu immediately replied: ”Damn it, you still have the nerve to say that! The day you came back, Zhang Youpeng specifically returned to the dorm, but you just dropped off your luggage and went out to open a room.”

”Now you know to ask us to come back to the dorm? Did you two break up?”

Zhang Youpeng also immediately replied: ”Exactly! Exactly!”

Wang Haobin looked at this, a bit embarrassed: ”No, we didn’t break up...”

”I just miss my brothers, asking about recent news, and want to meet up.”

Bai Yu: ”Hehe ~ It’s been a week since you returned to school, and now you miss your brothers? What nonsense!”

Wang Haobin repeatedly sent emojis, begging for mercy.

Seeing this, Bai Yu was in a good mood. He thought for a moment; it was a rare day off today, so they could gather. He could also see how Zhang Youpeng’s training was coming along, and check if Wang Haobin was suitable to join them.

After this thought arose, Bai Yu suddenly recalled the intelligence with the keyword [Wang Mengmeng].

’According to the usual trajectory, staying in the Investigation Bureau, I shouldn’t be able to contact her. Is it related to my roommates?’

’Then let’s gather!’

Seeing this, Bai Yu sent a message in the group chat.

”I’ll reluctantly forgive you. Oh, right, I just made some money today, so I’ll treat everyone to lunch. Let’s gather for a meal.”

”@Zhang Youpeng, I’ll come find you before eleven, and then pick up @Wang Haobin.”

Zhang Youpeng was very excited when he saw this: ”Alright!”

He knew Bai Yu’s current status. He originally thought that after Bai Yu joined the Investigation Bureau, their relationship would drift apart.

Now that there was an opportunity, it was definitely better to get to know him more!

Wang Haobin: ”How much did you earn?”

”A few thousand, small money.”

Just after saying that, Bai Yu opened a private chat with Zhang Youpeng: ”I earned a million.”

Zhang Youpeng knew he had bought soybeans.

It felt quite satisfying to brag a bit here.

”Holy crap! Awesome! Brother Yu is awesome!”

”Udyr ~”

”I’m so jealous ~”

”Lick dog.jpg”

Seeing Zhang Youpeng’s reaction, Bai Yu was utterly satisfied.

FacingAlien every day and having to think about various cases, it was nice to relax occasionally.

Yunhu Antique Street.

Looking at the street, which was cleaned like new, Bai Yu couldn’t help but sigh: This must be his third time here!

Speaking of which, it seemed like something big happened every time he came here.

Twice buying treasures, once meeting a big shot.

After Bai Yu walked in, he started buying items.

Due to his previous generous spending, some of the stall owners remembered him and quickly began to promote their goods.

Bai Yu had withdrawn nearly three hundred thousand federal currency from the exchange, so he naturally spent it lavishly now.

After shopping, he went to that old man’s stall again and extracted some stories.

In reality, he felt that the brush might be in this old man’s hands!

After all, last time, it was this old man who told the story of the Dragon and Tiger Ranking in the second year of Jiayou, which was related to the brush.

And then this intelligence appeared.

It’s hard not to be suspicious!

But unexpectedly, when he came to the old man’s stall and looked carefully, there was no brush that matched the picture.

However, the picture given by Golden Finger might be its appearance after activation, so to be safe, he decided to buy them all.

”I’ll take all these brushes.”

The old man was stunned upon hearing this, thinking to himself: A 95% profit, how much money would that be?

”Are you sure you want to buy them all?”

”Yes! How much is it?”

”Let’s do a 70% discount, six hundred will do.”

”No, no, no, no discount, absolutely no discount.”

Saying that, Bai Yu paid two thousand.

The old man also didn’t understand why Bai Yu liked buying antiques so much.

The main point was that he didn’t even want a discount.

Bai Yu, on the other hand, thought to himself: You don’t understand! This is called accumulating Karma. It’s one thing to find a bargain here once. But now I’ve found bargains twice! If I only pay so little, I feel like my Karma will be damaged, and just bullying old people, I’ll go to Hell.

Carrying a large bag of brushes, Bai Yu continued to browse other stalls.

Although he felt it was highly likely to be with this old man, he still had to be cautious and look around more.

’So many brushes, what was the contract method again?’

’Oh, right! Blood drop!’

’I’ll have to drop a lot of blood when I get back.’

After walking for a while, he encountered the burly man from before again, who spoke with a northern accent and enthusiastically said to Bai Yu, ”Little brother, you’re here again? Haha, why don’t you come and look at my stall? I’ve got a new batch of goods, guaranteed to satisfy you!”

Bai Yu also liked this kind of person’s personality, so he decided to go over and browse.

As soon as he squatted down, he saw the ink abyss divine pen: [The tip of the brush is inlaid with a gem emitting a faint light!]

The brush on the stall indeed had a translucent golden gem, but it didn’t emit any light.

To be honest, no one would think that the gem on this brush was real.

”???”

’The real one is here!? Can I go back and ask the old man for a refund?’

’Fraud! That’s fraud! It’s illegal!’

”Meow meow meow ~”

’However... could it be that I got the information about the talisman brush because I had interacted with this burly man before?’

Thinking this way, Bai Yu felt that his generous spending still had an effect.

After carefully confirming that this brush was indeed the ink abyss divine pen, Bai Yu checked the time: [10:11].

It was 21 minutes off from the time mentioned in the intelligence.

He hesitated for a moment, unsure whether he should buy it, and could only chat with the stall owner to pass the time.

This stall owner was also enthusiastic and good at chatting.

But after chatting for a while, White Spirit in his Soul Sea suddenly spoke: ”There’s an evil aura, showing hostility towards Brother Bai Yu.”

Bai Yu’s heart tightened, but his expression remained calm as he said, ”Where?”

”About thirty meters back, at a stall, a guy wearing a thin black shirt.”

This was late July, and black absorbs all light, making it very hot, so very few people would be wearing black clothes.

”How strong is he?”

”Early Stage Ling Yuan Realm, Ling’er can handle him completely.”

Seeing that his strength wasn’t particularly strong, Bai Yu felt even more at ease. The purple spirit jade pendant was still on him!

Big shot Zheng Guoyi was also nearby.

He quickly thought.

’This is most likely the so-called Shadow Blade!’

’Since White Spirit can pinpoint the target, I’ll just buy the brush directly to avoid any unforeseen complications.’

’Then I’ll find an opportunity to take a photo of this person and hand it over to the analysis team for full monitoring.’

As soon as he thought it, he did it. Bai Yu picked up the brush and asked the northern burly man, ”How much is this brush?”

”This brush, I won’t cheat you. I bought it for two hundred, so I’ll sell it to you for three hundred.”

At this price, he clearly didn’t think the golden gem was real either.

Seeing this, Bai Yu picked two more smaller items, paid five thousand six hundred federal currency, completed the transaction, and then pretended to casually stand up and look around.

He confirmed the man in black clothes.

His skin was rather dark, which didn’t match the usual complexion of a blood slave.

Was this a blood clan modifier?

During this process, Bai Yu seemed to be casually twirling his phone like a pen, but in fact, he was taking photos during this process.

After confirming that the person’s photo was in his gallery, he slowly left, while constantly being wary of this person.

That guy seemed to only be wary of Bai Yu and didn’t realize that Bai Yu had bought the ancient divine item, so he didn’t follow.

Bai Yu also successfully got into a taxi heading to the gym.

He thought to himself: ’I just joined the Investigation Bureau not long ago, and this guy can recognize me at first glance? Could he be related to me?’

’Let the analysis team investigate it thoroughly.’

”He made a million.”
