I am Just a Wild God, Why are You Kneeling Before the Heavenly Dao?

34: When entering the village, first pay respect to Chu Ping GongAs the refugees entered Chang Sheng Village one after another, Qian Dazhuang, Xu Tian, and Qian Shi meticulously registered everyone’s information.

The villagers also came out to help, maintaining order and guiding the refugees to the temple to pay respects to Lord Chuping.

Although the village entrance was busy, it was well-organized.

”Everyone listen up! After registering, first pay respects to Lord Chuping!”

”Only after paying respects to Lord Chuping can you enter the village! This is the rule!”

”Otherwise, you’ll go back to where you came from!”

Wang Houshi stood at the village entrance, banging a gong and shouting.

The penetrating sound of the gong made the ears of those who came to seek refuge buzz.

Many people turned pale, startled by the sudden noise.

”What... what is this for?”

”Aren’t you afraid of attracting evil with such a loud noise?”

”Exactly! We finally escaped here, what if we attract demons?”

Many demons have different routines than humans, preferring to hide during the day and come out at night. So, even when they were in Prefecture City, people had to keep quiet at night.

After many years, this habit had integrated into people’s lives, becoming common sense.

As someone who had experienced it, Qian Dazhuang understood their thoughts and didn’t make things difficult. He stepped forward and explained:

”Everyone, rest assured, our Chang Sheng Village has the protection of Lord Chuping. Demons dare not approach; it is absolutely safe.”

”As long as you sincerely pay respects to Lord Chuping, he will surely bless you all!”

”Lord Chuping? Who is that?”

”Is he a master who protects this place?”

A young Young Master asked, clearly unaware of Chang Sheng Village’s beliefs.

Others were much the same.

Qian Dazhuang smiled, a hint of pride in his tone:

”Lord Chuping is the guardian god of our Chang Sheng Village, with boundless magic, just like a Celestial Immortal. He can not only summon wind and rain and control heavenly thunder, but he also bestows Divine Pills.”

”Not only that, but Lord Chuping’s deeds are known to everyone in Chang Sheng Village, from eighty-year-old old men to three-year-old children. Just ask anyone in the village.”

”We also formed a connection with the Wanbao Merchant Guild because of Lord Chuping’s slaying of the Black Bear Demon and the Divine Pills he bestowed.”

”Speaking of the Black Bear Demon, the taste of its meat was truly superb...”

When it came to Lord Chuping, Qian Dazhuang became voluble, wishing he could set up a storytelling session and talk for three days and three nights.

Hearing this, the refugees looked at each other, half-believing, half-doubting.

It was as if they had heard an incomprehensible book, whispering amongst themselves.

”How is this different from the gods we’ve heard of?”

”This is too Xuanhuan!”

...”This fellow villager, does this Lord Chuping require live sacrifices?”

In the crowd, a white-haired old man asked the question everyone was most concerned about.

”Of course not!”

Qian Dazhuang lifted his neck, a proud look on his face.

”Those who require live sacrifices are Evil Gods. Our Lord Chuping is a True God of heaven and earth; he doesn’t engage in such Evil Path practices.”

Seeing Qian Dazhuang’s proud expression, one might think he was talking about himself.

However, most people still didn’t quite believe it.

Many of the gods they had heard of before were self-proclaimed by demons; they only had nice names, but in essence, they were all demons, none of them good.

Now, suddenly, to say there was a True God here, who would dare to believe it!

”Are there True Gods in this world?”

”We haven’t been tricked, have we?”

”Worshipping a god can ensure safety? This is too mysterious...”

”Exactly, we’ve been fleeing all this way, and we haven’t seen any gods or immortals come to save us.”

Qian Dazhuang’s expression darkened slightly when he heard their discussions.

”Everyone, Lord Chuping’s divine power is real. If you don’t believe it, you can ask the other people in the village; they can all testify.”

Xu Tian also stepped forward, his tone firm: ”That’s right! Lord Chuping’s protection is the foundation for our Chang Sheng Village to live in peace and contentment. Since you have come here, you must abide by our rules. Otherwise, you’ll go back to where you came from!”

The villagers of Chang Sheng Village were now all loyal fans of Lin Chuping and couldn’t stand anyone speaking ill of him.

When people heard Xu Tian’s words, they immediately quieted down.

Although they still had doubts in their hearts, they dared not openly question him anymore.

If they were driven out, only death awaited them.

”Alright... since this is the rule, then we’ll pay our respects.”

”Yes, yes, yes, bow! Bow!”

Everyone nodded, indicating their willingness to abide by the rules.

After all, at such a critical moment, they had no other choice.

Seeing this, Qian Dazhuang and Xu Tian’s expressions softened a little.

Wang Houshi, seeing the reluctant expressions of these people, snorted coldly.

”You’ll regret this!”

Everyone was half-believing, half-doubting about Lord Chuping, but three people in the crowd were exceptions.

Lu Ming and Lin Yao looked at the familiar village before them, on the verge of tears.

The intense pressure they felt when kneeling in the temple before was still vivid in their minds. After all this, they had actually returned here. Fortunately, they hadn’t made enemies last time.

However, this also precisely showed that Lord Chuping was truly a deity.

”Senior Brother, what should we do? Should we go in too? I always feel a chill in the temple.”

”At this point, we have no choice. Let’s go.”

”Junior Sister, you follow me.”

Another person was Wang Tu, the Young Lord of the Wang family.

Wang Tu also accepted Lord Chuping well, for no other reason than that the Wanbao Merchant Guild was leading the way, wasn’t it? *

Lin Chuping still floated above the temple, happily observing everything below.

The refugees’ doubts and complaints did not affect his good mood in the slightest.

...There was no more pleasant sound in the world than this!

The System’s chiming sounds echoed in his mind like a beautiful symphony.

”Satisfying!”

As for the skepticism of these people, that was not an issue.

There was a ready-made monster right in front of him, perfect for boosting trust.

What a coincidence!

Lin Chuping had absolute confidence that after today, all these people would become his main reserve force for accumulating Incense Value.

The Wanbao Merchant Guild, they really did big things in silence; he liked that!

Hahahahaha!
