National Tower Defense Survival: Start Awakening Fusion System

2: Points RankingNight fell, like a giant black cloth, silently enveloping the entire “Final Fortress” world.

When the cold countdown in the center of the fortress precisely reached zero, the entire world seemed to hold its breath.

“Awooo—!!”

A shrill roar seemed to be the signal; the deathly black mist outside the fortress instantly surged like boiling water!

Immediately after, one after another, small, pale-green-skinned Goblins, wielding rusty wooden clubs, their eyes gleaming with greed and bloodlust, charged towards Lin Feng’s city wall with wobbly steps, fearless of death.

【The first wave of monsters has arrived!】

【Monster Information: Common Goblin x100】

【Attributes: HP 20, Armor 0, Movement Speed 5 m/s】

【Kill Reward: 1 Gold Coin】

Lin Feng’s expression remained unperturbed, his eyes as still as an ancient well, as he watched these cannon fodder-like monsters.

He had already positioned the Double-shot Heavy Crossbow Tower in the center of the city wall, where it had the best view, like a silent Grim Reaper, quietly waiting for its prey to step into the death trap.

The moment the first Goblin stumbled into the 100-meter range—

“Whoosh! Whoosh!”

As if a falcon had caught the scent of blood, the Double-shot Heavy Crossbow Tower instantly activated!

The bowstrings of the upper and lower heavy crossbows on the turret’s body vibrated almost in unison, and two crossbow bolts, glinting with cold light, tore through the air with a sharp whistling sound, arriving after they were fired but before the target could react!

Pfft! Pfft!

Two crossbow bolts precisely pierced the chest and head of two different Goblins, one above and one below, simultaneously.

“-20!”

“-20!”

Two crimson damage numbers floated up almost simultaneously; the two Goblins’ bodies stiffened abruptly, green blood splattered, and they fell straight down without even a whimper.

A complete and utter instant kill!

And this was just the beginning.

Thanks to the passive skill Rapid Fire, the Double-shot Heavy Crossbow Tower’s attack was like an unceasing storm of death.

The vibrations of the bowstrings merged into a continuous sound, forming a highly efficient symphony of slaughter.

As soon as the Goblins at the front fell, those behind immediately followed suit, as if queuing up for death.

An insurmountable net of deadly firepower, composed of crossbow bolts, was firmly established fifty meters from the city wall!

Not a single Goblin could break through this defense line!

【Ding! You have successfully repelled the first wave of monsters!】

【You received: Gold Coins x100】

【Defense settlement in progress…】

Lin Feng looked at the empty battlefield and the messy pile of corpses outside the city wall, even feeling a slight sense of unfulfillment.

The defense process was even easier than he had imagined.

Just then, a bright red special prompt box suddenly popped up on his panel.

【It is detected that your defense process took an extremely short time (3 minutes 12 seconds), no damage to defense towers, no attacks on city walls, defense rating: Perfect!】

【Perfect Rating Reward: You can choose to spend 100 Gold Coins to activate “Elite Challenge”!】

【Elite Challenge: The system will summon a wave of elite monsters with double the quantity and enhanced attributes for you. Successfully defending will earn double the basic reward and additional leaderboard points! There is no penalty for failing the challenge.】

【Do you want to activate?】

“Oh? There’s such a good thing?”

Lin Feng’s eyes lit up instantly, and his heart skipped a beat.

No penalty for failure, double rewards and points for success?

This was simply a welfare package delivered by the system! It was a tailor-made accelerator for someone like him, whose strength far exceeded the current difficulty!

For ordinary people who barely managed to defend with four Initial Arrow Towers, this option might be a death warrant.

But for Lin Feng, who possessed the Double-shot Heavy Crossbow Tower, this was an excellent opportunity to leave everyone else far behind!

He glanced at his resources.

Starting with 100 Gold Coins, he just earned another 100 Gold Coins, for a total of 200.

“Purchase two Initial Arrow Towers.”

【Gold Coins spent x100, remaining Gold Coins x100.】

“System, synthesize!”

The models of the two new arrow towers transformed into streams of light, colliding with a roar in front of him, and as the light dissipated, another brand-new Heavy Crossbow Turret appeared.

【Ding! Synthesis successful!】 【Initial Arrow Tower】 + 【Initial Arrow Tower】 = 【Double-shot Heavy Crossbow Tower】

He quickly checked its attributes.

【Double-shot Heavy Crossbow Tower】

Quality: White (Common)

Attack: 20

Attack Speed: 1 shot/second

Range: 100 meters

Special Effect: None

“As expected…” Lin Feng understood.

This synthesis, although the attributes perfectly stacked, did not awaken a divine skill like Rapid Fire again.

Clearly, skill awakening was a low-probability event.

Even so, a defense tower with 20 damage per second was far superior to an Initial Arrow Tower.

Now, he possessed two Double-shot Heavy Crossbow Towers, one of which even came with the Rapid Fire skill!

A total investment of 200 Gold Coins resulted in terrifying output comparable to six Initial Arrow Towers!

This was the domineering power of “Infinite Fusion”!

He placed the two Heavy Crossbow Turrets side by side on the city wall, their cold killing intent solidifying the air.

After completing all this, he calmly looked at the system prompt.

“Confirm activation!”

As soon as his voice fell, the mist outside the fortress surged violently again, and what rushed out were still Goblins, but this wave was completely different from the cannon fodder just now!

Their bodies were a size larger, their muscles bulging, their skin dark green, their eyes flashing with cunning and cruel red light, and their speed was significantly faster!

【Elite Goblin x200】

【Attributes: HP 40, Armor 10, Movement Speed 7 m/s】

“This is getting interesting.” Lin Feng’s lips curved slightly upward.

“Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!”

The two Heavy Crossbow Turrets fired simultaneously, and four crossbow bolts instantly whizzed out, accurately hitting the two Elite Goblins at the very front.

“-10!” (Attack 20 - Armor 10)

“-10!”

“-10!”

“-10!”

A series of damage numbers floated up.

Due to the presence of 10 points of armor, the damage of each crossbow bolt was reduced from 20 points to 10 points. A single volley, a total of 40 points of damage, just enough for an instant kill!

But another Elite Goblin, attacked by the Heavy Crossbow Turret without the Rapid Fire skill, only took 20 points of damage and did not die on the spot!

It roared, enduring the two crossbow bolts in its body, and continued to charge madly!

However, this was meaningless.

Just one second later, another four crossbow bolts followed closely, instantly riddling it and the unlucky one behind it!

From target acquisition to kill, it was still an overwhelming victory!

The next ten minutes became a one-sided slaughter.

The two Heavy Crossbow Turrets transformed into ruthless killing machines, the hum of their bowstrings never ceasing.

The corpses of Elite Goblins piled higher and higher outside the city wall, pushed back from one hundred meters to less than ten meters from the city wall!

When the last Elite Goblin fell with a heart full of unwillingness, the generous reward notification finally sounded in Lin Feng’s ears.

【Congratulations on completing the Elite Challenge! Defense Rating: Excellent!】

【You received: Gold Coins x400, Leaderboard Points x11!】

Lin Feng contentedly retrieved the crossbow turret into his warehouse for maintenance. Just then, that grand, cold voice once again resounded throughout the entire world.

【First Night Defense Ended. The “Kill Score Leaderboard” for each War Zone is now announced. The leaderboard will be refreshed daily, and the top one hundred ranked players will receive additional resource rewards!】

As the voice fell, a huge golden leaderboard slowly unfolded before all survivors, listing unfamiliar names and their maddeningly enviable talents.

【8888 War Zone Kill Score Leaderboard】

1. 【Dragon Aotian】 Points: 20 (Talent: SSS-Rank - Divine Dragon Summoning)

...

The top ranks of the leaderboard were almost entirely dominated by the legendary SSS-Rank and SS-Rank talent levels.

For a time, everyone was abuzz!

They never expected that in the small 8888 War Zone, there would actually be hidden talents, two SSS-Rank big shots!

In this world, talent was class, unshakeable.

People continued to look down curiously, wanting to admire who the big shots in the top thirty were.

...

28. 【Karl】 Points: 12 (Talent: SS-Rank - Elemental Control)

29. Heaven’s Choice Points: 11 (Talent: S-Rank - Infinite Fusion System)

Everyone gasped. S-Rank? How did he manage to be among a group of SS-Rank big shots with his points?
