Madam’s Identities Shocks the Entire City Again

Chapter 3905: Chapter 3905: I Never Tried, So Why Should I Give Up

”...”

Lu Zhi clasped his fingers around the thin paper, his eyes flickering, uncertain what he was thinking.

After a long time, he opened the second document, lowered his gaze and carefully read it, then tightened his thin lips and again fell into prolonged silence.

The assistant didn’t know what he was thinking, nor did they dare to interrupt his thoughts at this time, forced to endure Lu Zhi’s intense pressure, hands neatly crossed in front, hoping this psychological torment would end soon.

Lu Zhi had already discussed everything with the empress, hadn’t he? Everything is now unfolding according to their plan, so why isn’t Lu Zhi giving the order?

The assistant, after all, was not Jian Jin and didn’t understand Lu Zhi’s character.

They didn’t know what Lu Zhi was hesitating about, only thinking this was the first time they had seen Lu Zhi so indecisive and unresolute.

After a long silence in the office, the assistant couldn’t help stretching their neck and speaking.

”Lu Zhi?”

Lu Zhi’s gaze focused into a beam and suddenly looked at them, asking an inexplicable question: ”If you like someone, what would you do?”

The assistant was confused: ”Lu Zhi?”

Lu Zhi’s face appeared emotionless: ”Answer me.”

The assistant dared not meet his eyes, lowered their head and honestly said: ”If I really liked her, I would tell her, ask if she wants to be with me.”

”What if... you can’t bring yourself to say it...” Lu Zhi asked again.

The assistant couldn’t help but glance at him: ”Uh... then maybe I don’t like her enough?”

”No!” This time Lu Zhi firmly corrected them: ”You really like her!”

”...”

The assistant felt they were about to go crazy.

They tentatively whispered: ”Lu Zhi has someone they like?”

Lu Zhi didn’t answer.

They suddenly felt sympathy for Jian Jin, everyone in Tian Chen knew Assistant Jian had deep feelings for Lu Zhi, staying beside him for so long, and Lu Zhi had affection for someone else.

No wonder Assistant Jian left so decisively not long ago.

It turns out they were hurt by love.

Thinking of this, the assistant felt slightly more at ease amidst their chaotic mood, hesitantly said: ”If I can’t tell her, perhaps I would choose to watch from afar and bless her.”

Lu Zhi showed a contemplative expression, then curled his lips, let out a disdainful sneer, placed his hand on his leg, and his sharp gaze fell on the assistant, coldly said: ”If you like them, chase them, if you can’t catch them, then take them. What’s blessing them? If you can bless them, is that still liking?”

”...”

The assistant was taken aback by his words, actually feeling slightly persuaded.

Lu Zhi turned his wheelchair facing toward the direction of the floor-to-ceiling window, his gaze once again fixed on the elevated bridge outside, watching the fleeting vehicles.

He softly said: ”Humans are animals by nature, liking is about possession, that is animal instinct. A man who can bless from afar only shows he’s too weak, not even daring to take!”

The assistant looked at the back of his head, unsure how to respond.

Immediately, he heard Lu Zhi’s low voice again: ”Why give up when I haven’t tried!”

**

Elsewhere.

Shadow finished a call from Tian Chen, quickly walked over to Nie Qingru and cautiously reported: ”Empress, Lu Zhi is preparing to act. What about us?”

”Heh.” The darkness in Nie Qingru’s eyes disappeared in an instant, elegantly adjusting the scarf around her neck, indifferently said: ”Let’s prepare too.”

”Okay.”

Shadow turned to leave to make arrangements.

Nie Qingru suddenly said behind him: ”Tell our people to listen to Lu Zhi this time, don’t touch that nuisance and Red Alliance’s Guan Yan. As for the others... tell them if Lu Zhi’s people don’t act, they can act on his behalf at the critical moment.”
