His Acting Was So Good As a Ruthless Criminal, Drawing the Attention of Police Officers Across the Internet

95: Awarded the honorary title of ”National Counter-Terrorism Security Ambassador”?Having agreed to meet again before filming began, the two finally parted ways next to a trash can on the Hengcheng Food Street.

As he was heading back to the villa, Lin Pei’s phone rang.

He picked it up and saw that it was actually the official number of the Dragon Country Armed Police.

Lin Pei’s heart immediately grew solemn, and he quickly reviewed everything he had done over the past two days in his mind.

He was certain he hadn’t done anything illegal or anything that endangered public safety.

Just moments ago, he had even helped an old lady by kicking a steamed bun back to her.

After answering the phone, a gruff, authoritative voice sounded from the other end.

”Is this Lin Pei?”

Lin Pei frowned.

Why did it feel like he was being interrogated as a death row inmate?

Was he about to take the fall for something again?

”I am?”

There was a pause on the other end.

”Are you, or aren’t you?”

Lin Pei cleared his throat.

”I guess...”

”...”

”I am.”

He still believed that the great Dragon Country wouldn’t wrong an innocent man.

Whatever blame they had, let it come.

He heard the person on the other end take a deep breath.

”Hello, Lin Pei. This is the Dragon Country Armed Police Headquarters.”

”Due to your heroic performance in outwitting Terrorists in Ivia, we have decided to award you the title of ’national counter-terrorism security ambassador,’ along with a certificate and a cash prize.”

”We wanted to ask if you have time recently to attend the award ceremony?”

!!

Lin Pei’s brow relaxed.

Eh?

This time, it wasn’t a scapegoat’s burden being thrown at him, but an honor?

He truly hadn’t dared to imagine this.

However, considering his upright character and history of law-abiding behavior, this kind of honor was actually more suited to him.

”Yes, I have time.”

How could he not have time?

When it came to receiving honors, even if he didn’t have time, he’d have to squeeze some out.

For some reason, Lin Pei felt that the other party was even more anxious than he was, as they immediately set the appointment for tomorrow.

Lin Pei agreed.

He did have time, and he was also quite eager.

Instead of waiting for ’operation red sea’ to be released, wouldn’t using this to promote his positive image be faster?

Once he received the honor and medal and posted it online, he could imagine that everyone’s impression of him as ’ferocious’ would surely be completely reversed... Meanwhile, inside a certain villa.

A big-eyed female Celebrity was emerging from a bathtub wrapped in a towel, her body still steaming.

She was frantically sniffing herself while looking irritable.

”Damn it, I’ve been washing for so many days, why is there still a foul smell?”

”That god-awful man, I really want to kill him.”

A few days ago, she had been cursed by the people of Dragon Country just for wearing a Japanese military flag for a magazine shoot.

This was because decades ago, Japan had invaded Dragon Country and harmed many of its citizens.

But after it happened, she had apologized sincerely at the first opportunity, hadn’t she?

Unexpectedly, during a roadshow that day, someone had deliberately planned an attack.

After knocking her down, they drenched her in ’sewage water’.

That day, she had collapsed on stage, helpless, enduring the nauseating stench.

By the time she had a chance to wash herself clean, the sewage had already dried on her body.

Damn it.

She felt like she had been marinated in the scent.

After so many days, she had almost scrubbed her skin off, yet she felt she could still smell that odor.

So annoying!

Her Manager, Sister Lan, instinctively took a step back.

Zhao Wei’s temper was just as irritable as the rumors suggested.

Since being splashed with filth, she had nearly smashed everything in the house.

Sister Lan was afraid of getting hit herself.

Sister Lan brought out the words she had been using to comfort her for days.

”Wei, that’s just your imagination.”

”With the way you’ve been washing, even if you came out of a cesspool, you’d be smelling like roses by now.”

Zhao Wei gave Sister Lan a cold glare.

How did she end up with such a Manager?

That mouth of hers was the one that sounded like it came from a cesspool.

Zhao Wei calmed down slightly.

”By the way, Sister, is there any news about that ’national counter-terrorism security ambassador’ title?”

”After everything I’ve been through, can’t this title fall to me?”

”If this happened to any other female star, they would have been scared to tears long ago. How could they be as heroic as me?”

Sister Lan was helpless.

When Zhao Wei had nagged her to sign up, she never thought Zhao Wei would actually be selected.

The whole incident was quite embarrassing to begin with, yet she actually had the nerve to praise her own heroism.

”Wei, this title is specifically awarded to those who fight against Terrorist forces and maintain the safety of the people.”

”Your situation doesn’t really count.”

She had said this countless times, but the woman simply wouldn’t listen.

”Besides, I heard that the person has already been chosen. The award ceremony is tomorrow.”

Zhao Wei’s brow furrowed.

”What? It’s not me?!”

”Then who was chosen?”

”It’s not some ordinary person who did a good deed on the street, is it?”

”For something like this, the promotional effect is only good if a star does it!”

Sister Lan seemed to remember something.

”Sigh, true.”

”Hiss, I remember now. That person also seems to be an actor... called... called Lin Pei.”

Lin Pei?

Zhao Wei had some impression of this name.

Wasn’t this the actor who recently won the white magnolia award Best Supporting Actor award for his role as a bandit?

Although she hadn’t met him, she heard from people around her that this man was terrifyingly fierce.

Promoting anti-terrorism safety? It’d be a miracle if he didn’t cause a Terrorist incident himself.

She might have accepted anyone else, but she truly couldn’t accept this person.

”Sister Lan, we’re going tomorrow too.”

”I have to see for myself who this person is that snatched our glorious title.”

Sister Lan’s lip twitched.

Even if Lin Pei hadn’t been chosen, it certainly wouldn’t have fallen to her.

What did she mean by ’snatched’?

Given the things she had done on her own initiative before, it was a miracle the higher-ups hadn’t banned her yet.

How could she still be thinking about honorary titles like this?

”Wei, we have a schedule tomorrow.”

”Besides, this matter is already settled. Let’s not think about it anymore.”

”We finally managed to sign for Star Lord’s new movie. I think you should spend your time preparing for that.”

Zhao Wei picked up a cup and was about to throw it on the floor.

”No!”

”Cancel the schedule. I’m definitely going!”

Sister Lan took another step back.

”Fine... fine...”

She heard that Zhao Wei’s previous Manager had mysteriously disappeared.

It was just a job; there was no need to risk her life over it.

For the sake of her salary, she would just endure it... The next day, Lin Pei set off early and headed for the Armed Police Headquarters in the capital.

In the afternoon, he arrived at the main gate of the Armed Police Headquarters.

As expected of a military base, the front was quiet and solemn, looking somewhat out of place among the surrounding buildings.

Two Armed Police officers with rifles were standing guard at the gate, their bodies straight and eyes fixed forward.

Two stone lions crouched at the entrance, making the place seem even more sacred and majestic.

However, looking closely, there seemed to be two unidentified creatures crouching next to the stone lions... Lin Pei squinted his eyes.

Are those two big black dogs?

They couldn’t be guarding the gate too, could they?

But these dogs were awfully well-behaved, not moving an inch.

At first glance, they even looked a bit suspicious, like they were trying to hide.

As he approached the gate, the two creatures suspected of being black dogs suddenly sprang up and lunged toward him.

Holy crap.

Vicious dogs attacking people?

Lin Pei wasn’t sure, but his foot had already lashed out subconsciously.

Whoosh!

The kicked creature flew out with a thud.

”Ouch, my ass!”

Lin Pei’s eyes widened.

Good grief, they can speak human language.

He hadn’t looked closely before, but now that he did, were these two people?

Dressed like that, they couldn’t be robbers, could they?
