Quick Transmigration: The Host is Forced to Love!

126: Chapter 126 The Disabled CEO’s Benefactor 23Lu Zhan, dressed in a simple yet stylish outfit, arrived at the pre-booked conference room with Manager Wang Fang.

Director Xu had not yet arrived, so the two of them casually found a place to sit.

”Lu Zhan, I asked Assistant Yang Chen, and he said he still wants to be your assistant.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Zhan’s cold expression softened slightly.

”I see. However, I don’t have any work at the moment, so give him some time off, but keep paying his salary. Once I land the role of Lin Zexi and filming begins, have him join the crew with me.”

Manager Wang Fang nodded gently, indicating she understood.

Afterward, the two had a brief conversation about future operations and development.

Not long after, the conference room door was gently pushed open, and Director Xu walked in with a middle-aged man.

As soon as Manager Wang Fang saw them, a warm smile instantly appeared on her face. She quickly stood up to greet them, while Lu Zhan followed behind her at a leisurely pace.

”Director Xu, it’s been quite some time. You look as robust as ever,” Manager Wang Fang said with a beaming smile.

Director Xu was dressed in simple attire. His hair was slightly gray, his expression was serious, and his eyes revealed a glimmer of persistent pursuit of art.

”My health hasn’t been great these past two years, but I’m still fine enough to finish this current project. Let’s not dwell on that. Let me introduce you to my son, Xu Hu, who is also the assistant director for this drama.”

Manager Wang Fang warmly and politely shook hands with him, exchanged greetings, and engaged in some small talk.

Then, she led Director Xu and his son to sit in the center chairs before pulling Lu Zhan forward to introduce him.

”Director Xu, this is the person I recommended to you, Lu Zhan. He has his eyes on the role of Lin Zexi.”

Director Xu scrutinized Lu Zhan with a sharp gaze, a flicker of imperceptible appreciation flashing in his eyes.

He had a slight impression of this handsome young man; three years ago, his acting skills could only be considered above average.

However, to be able to decisively retire from the entertainment industry at the peak of his career, go abroad to study, and improve his acting skills—that took great courage and determination!

Lu Zhan’s face was cold, his eyes held a hint of detachment, and his expression was extremely calm as he calmly allowed the other party to look him over.

”Director Xu, I’m not very good at flattery, but I am indeed very interested in this role. As for whether I’m capable or not, one test will tell. If you’re not satisfied then, I won’t force it.”

Director Xu withdrew his gaze. Although he had some appreciation for this young man, he was always very cautious about his work. He had to see the other party’s performance first before he could be at ease.

He handed a thin sheet of paper to Lu Zhan and said expressionlessly, ”Then let’s try this scene. Take a look at it, and we’ll start in five minutes.”

Lu Zhan nodded, reached out to take the paper, and lowered his head to read it carefully.

His eyes occasionally revealed confusion, then contemplation, and his brows were slightly furrowed.

A moment later, the paper was taken back, the three of them sat upright, and Director Xu said softly, ”Lu Zhan, begin.”

Lu Zhan’s attitude was neither humble nor arrogant as he nodded slightly. He then closed his eyes, as if adjusting his state, and when he opened them again, his entire aura changed instantly.

His eyes became gentle and calm, but deep within, a cold light faintly flickered. At that moment, he seemed to have truly become the Incarnation of Lin Zexi.

He began to act out the scene. His emotions were perfectly controlled, every movement and every expression was just right, vividly portraying the complex emotions of Lin Zexi in that scene.

His voice also rose and fell with the changes in emotion, full of infectious power, making the three of them unable to help but be immersed in it, as if they saw the vivid Lin Zexi standing right before their eyes.

After the performance ended, the three of them had surging emotions on their faces—some excited, some happy, some appreciative...

Director Xu narrowed his eyes slightly; Lu Zhan’s performance just now was exactly the demeanor that Lin Zexi, as he had written him, should have.

After calming down for a while, Director Xu reached out and shook Lu Zhan’s hand firmly, then said solemnly, ”Lu Zhan, I am very satisfied. The role of Lin Zexi is yours. I hope we have a pleasant cooperation!”

Upon hearing this, a flash of joy suddenly crossed Lu Zhan’s eyes, and he responded with a smile, ”Director Xu, happy cooperation!”

Soon, both parties handled the contract matters and signed it.

Director Xu handed the portion of the script involving the character Lin Zexi to Lu Zhan. With a solemn look on his face, he instructed, ”Lu Zhan, this drama is expected to officially start filming in ten days. The character of Lin Zexi is very complex. In these next few days, you must carefully study the character’s personality as well as the relevant lines and plot, and strive for perfection when we film!”

Holding the script, Lu Zhan nodded with an extremely serious expression. ”Don’t worry, Director Xu, I will.”

Director Xu didn’t say anything more and, together with his son Xu Hu, got up and left the conference room.

Manager Wang Fang also stood up to see them off, her warm smile not fading in the slightest, while Lu Zhan stood slightly behind her.

Their figures quickly disappeared from sight.

The matter had been perfectly resolved. Thinking that Fu Jinghan was still waiting for him, Lu Zhan didn’t want to stay any longer. A flash of imperceptible urgency crossed his eyes as he said softly, ”Manager Wang, Brother Han is still waiting for me on the top floor, so I’ll be leaving now.”

Manager Wang Fang’s expression was full of curiosity, her gossiping heart stirring. However, since Lu Zhan was unwilling to say more and it involved President Fu, she didn’t dare to pry rashly. She could only wave her hand helplessly and say, ”I got it, go ahead.”

Lu Zhan nodded slightly, turned, and walked out with steady steps. He turned into the elevator and then headed straight up to the top floor.

Inside the office on the top floor, it was quiet.

Fu Jinghan sat quietly on the sofa, scrolling through his phone with a focused expression. His brows would occasionally knit slightly and then gently relax; it was unclear what exactly he was doing.

Lu Zhan walked with steady steps and came to a stop behind Fu Jinghan. He gently placed his hands on his shoulders, leaning over slightly to get closer.

He glanced at Fu Jinghan’s phone screen out of the corner of his eye and saw that what was displayed on the screen seemed to be a long list.

With a hint of confusion in his eyes, Lu Zhan leaned into Fu Jinghan’s ear and asked in a low voice, ”Brother Han, such a long list, what are you doing?”

Fu Jinghan turned his head slightly, his gaze full of tenderness, like a warm pool of spring water. He replied with a smile, ”A-Zhan, this is the finalized banquet list. I’m checking to see if there are any omissions. This banquet is to officially announce our relationship, so naturally, I have to be more cautious.”

A flash of tenderness crossed Lu Zhan’s eyes. He gently patted his shoulder and said slowly, ”Brother Han, actually, there’s no need to go to so much trouble. I don’t care about these things. The banquet is fine as it is; don’t tire yourself out.”
