Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2105: Chapter 2099: Su Jin Is a Pitiful Person

”Granny, why does that person named Su Jin live like this? Can’t she stand up for herself? I see that her husband treats her well,” Qin Xue said. As soon as she heard about the superstition of the broken palm, she realized how it weighed heavily on this woman named Su Jin.

”Minghui treats her well, but what good is that? Nobody wants to be jinxed to death. He believes that in this situation, neither good nor bad, it’s best for both of them, so he keeps doing this,” Granny said. She lived next door to their house and often overheard things, but what difference did it make if she was the only one who knew — others didn’t, did they?

”Ignorance is truly frightening,” Qing Zhu whispered.

”Don’t talk nonsense, or you’ll incite public anger,” Qin Xue scolded Qing Zhu.

”I didn’t say anything wrong, but if you don’t want me to talk, I won’t. Could you be less harsh?” Qing Zhu was also aware that she couldn’t cause public anger, or else she couldn’t fight against so many on her own.

”You know.” Qin Xue didn’t want to explain to her. Why waste words on things she already understood?

”Because when she was giving birth to Mingming, she nearly died. The Mings didn’t have the heart to see the child without a mother, so they’ve always treated her neither well nor poorly, like a family that doesn’t seem like one, and strangers who don’t seem to be strangers. Besides, Hu Lai would come by now and then, which makes anyone uncomfortable. That’s why Su Jin ended up like this. She’s truly a pitiable child,” Granny finished and stood up. She knew it was pointless anyway.

”Is everything they’ve said true? Have they always been like this?” Qin Xue asked, following by Granny’s side.

”Su Jin is an embroiderer, but because she has a broken palm and was rejected by the Hus, even her family doesn’t treat her well anymore. Otherwise, how would she end up like this?” Granny had seen her embroidery skills in the past. What a pity, though, no one wants that kind of thing nowadays.

”Granny, what did you say? Su Jin can embroider?” Qin Xue asked incredulously. It wasn’t that she looked down on Su Jin, but a woman like her didn’t seem the type.

”Yes, she embroiders beautifully. What a shame to waste such a good skill,” Granny nodded.

”How about this, Granny? When you get back, if you see Su Jin, have her come to XX Alley to find me. My name is Qin Xue. Make sure you tell her to find me,” Qin Xue said with renewed interest after hearing about Su Jin’s embroidery skills. Getting a good embroiderer wasn’t easy. Although she originally didn’t plan to have any dealings, in this case, she had to, as Qin Xue needed such talent.

”Young lady, what do you want from her? She has nothing to offer you. She’s a good person. Don’t give her a hard time, all right?” Granny looked at Qin Xue and Qing Zhu with some wariness.

”Granny, what are you thinking? We’re doctors, and just now we even helped her save her child. What could we possibly do to her? I just heard you say she can embroider, and I want to hire her. This way, she can earn money for herself. Don’t you think that makes sense?” Qin Xue was truly at a loss for words and amused at the same time. How could her sweet self appear to be the bad guy? Such a heartache.

”I see; okay, I’ll tell her when I get back. If that’s true, it would be wonderful,” Granny said as she walked forward, her voice tinged with sorrow.

”Xuexue, Granny seems nice, but why does she go out of her way to help that woman named Su Jin? I can tell that many people here know them; otherwise, they wouldn’t be so clear about the family matters. I believe that woman named Su Jin and her husband must have heard those people earlier, but neither of them reacted. And that Hu Lai, when he saw Su Jin’s husband, seemed unhappy, but as soon as he heard the crowd, he slipped away. Men like that with no backbone are contemptible,” Qing Zhu said, feeling indignant for Su Jin.

Qing Zhu didn’t know her, but she couldn’t understand why she saw a familiar shadow in her.
